My local greengrocer sells yams too. I had american friends over last year around thanksgiving time and made them sweet marshmallow yams. Possibly the most disgusting thing I’ve ever tasted (I did conceive miscarriage no 3 that cycle though).

SparkwoodAnd21 · 30/04/2018 22:51

I’m thinking a lip balm, hair care range, and clothes woven from yams.

Thanks ladies, I’m going to book into my GP to ask about it.

Yam marshmallow combination sounds disgusting @para Maybe don’t include that in your yam empire @spark

Paranormalbouquet · 01/05/2018 07:19

It really was but the Americans loved it. It’s traditional apparently.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 01/05/2018 07:33

When I was looking for what to do with the yam that was what I mostly found Para. I chose not to make it 🤢🤮

Miserablemouse · 01/05/2018 08:41

Catching up on all this after the weekend and hope everyone is doing well today!
Para did you get in touch with EPU again? I can’t believe they abavwnt been helpful before when you’ve had losses. That’s terrible. I am keeping everything crossed that this one is sticky and you’ll have a completely uneventful 9 months from now on Flowers

I also reported that thread. Glad I didn’t read back again based on what you’ve all said in here! The whole affair was so nasty.

I need my head wobbling - tested last night at 7dpo. SEVEN. I haven’t tested in months and have never tested so early before. No idea what came over me. It was a bloody FRER too so such a waste of money!

Chooklass · 01/05/2018 08:51

Haha @Miserablemouse - it's amazing how the Testing Too Early Urge can spring from nowhere despite all that we know!! Totally been there and have been getting ridiculous testing early urges the last few days (?5/6 dpo!!).

Aph413 · 01/05/2018 09:21

Don't worry Miserable I tested at 7dpo too. Don't know what possessed me. I'm sitting on my hands for a week now!

Miserablemouse · 01/05/2018 10:01

Thanks Chooklass & Aph - so pleased to have this thread. I was bloated and crampy yesterday which I think is what bought on the Testing Too Early Urge, but in reality probably just means I'm getting my FP earlier than expected (which would mean we definitely missed ovulation). Nevermind!

On the offchance FP doesn't arrive soon I will also be sitting on my hands until after Sunday, which is my best friend's baby shower as don't think I can face another neggier-than-negative BFN before then.

Spottyyellowdress · 01/05/2018 11:04

@miserable @aph 7dpo testing here too...not entirely sure what I was expecting!

LG93 · 01/05/2018 12:41

Another who is struggling not to test today (6dpo today)

I've decided in my head that this is my cycle and I'm going to get a bfp. For experience, this doesn't end well! Trying to talk myself out of it but for some reason decided it's this month 🙈

LimpLettice · 01/05/2018 14:06

I always suggest yam cock rings at this point. Can't hurt :)

Early testing is the pits. You know it's wrong, but who can help it? We have literally all done it. I liked the amazon cheapies for copious poas, at least then you are not pissing ona tenner.

Bubblegum89 · 01/05/2018 14:15

Afternoon ladies, first thing I saw coming back on the thread today was yam cock rings so glad to see we’re all still in fairly okay spirits 😂 was my first day back at work after being deathly ill today, I’ve managed to eat one cracker all day. Delicious.

Getting so much watery ewcm today. I’m CD13 so I’m guessing I’m going to ovulate later this cycle. I’m getting more of a constant “stream” of it this month instead of it just coming in random globs (I bloody hate that word) but it’s not thick, more watery but still fairly stretchy. Just did an opk and it’s darkish, not quite positive though. I feel rough still although no longer contagious, and my partner had ANOTHER cold sore so I don’t know whether to attempt sex or just give it a miss this cycle and call it a day for a while.

Anyway, hope everyone is good :)

Miserablemouse · 01/05/2018 14:23

Hope you're feeling better Bubble and haven't rushed back to work too soon. Tonsillitis is so grim. Could you get him to stick one of those cold sore plasters on it for sex if you were feeling up to it?!

Yam cock rings sound excellent, put me down for one. I'll use that while doing it on my head under a full moon to make sure I conceive a girl with a January birthday Grin....

Bubblegum89 · 01/05/2018 14:31

Thank you miserablemouse I do feel a bit better, just need to get my appetite back now so I stop feeling so sick taking penicillin on an empty stomach all day 😩 I reckon I could do sex if it was a “lie down and think of England” type affair with no sudden movements lol

Yam lube would obviously go perfectly with yam cock rings. Sperm friendly of course

LG93 · 01/05/2018 14:35

Sorry you're still feeling poorly@bubblegum

Tonsillitis is the worst. I suffered on and off for years and eventually the antibiotics did nothing and it just stayed for 2 years - the NHS said they couldn't take them out because I wasn't taking a day off every week to go back to my gp and tell them I still had tonsillitis and I just sort of learnt to struggle through it. Luckily I then took a job with private healthcare and got a referral (reluctantly- the letter the registrar wrote for me basically said she thought I was being dramatic but I was insistent on a referral so she was writing it) and the private consultant whipped them out within a couple of weeks. Didn't realise how awful I felt permanently until they came out so you have my sympathies!

LimpLettice · 01/05/2018 14:41

Yam lube though Envy (not envy, blergh)

No sudden movements might make it a bit difficult to ahem, get the job done Bubblegum. I suffered for years and it is a dreadful illness. Salty chicken soup is my suggestion - its the yiddishe momma in me but it numbs, heals and soothes, and should line your gut a bit for the ABs.

Bubblegum89 · 01/05/2018 14:45

LG this is the first time I’ve had it in years. I’ve had it twice before, both times it was bacterial so needed antibiotics. I don’t know why my heart tried to explode this time around haha. My tonsils themselves actually feel much better now, just a little niggly when I swallow or yawn weirdly. I think it’s everything that comes with it that’s worse. The vomiting, nausea, fever, tiredness etc. I haven’t felt that ill ever. The doctor said to me that they will only take tonsils out now if you are literally getting tonsillitis every month. I’m glad I don’t suffer with them a lot, it must have been awful having to live with it all the time, I’m not surprised you had so much relief when they came out!

Bubblegum89 · 01/05/2018 14:49

Thanks limp it’s bloody horrible isn’t it? I got some lollies from Asda and drank ten times my own weight in water and the pain in my throat has eased massively so I’ve been having my go-to nausea food, ready salted crisps. I did actually try soup, and some dry burnt toast, but just threw it all back up again. Much less appealing on the way back up! Although salty chicken soup is kind of making my mouth water, I’m just craving salty food at the moment like crisps. Think it’s just because of all the fluids I’ve lost, I may give the soup a go, thanks you :)

Oh he can make sudden movements but I’m not moving a muscle 😂

Chooklass · 01/05/2018 15:40

Glad you're on the mend @Bubblegum89 ! Me and DH did robotic sex with no kissing this month because I was ill!! Maybe it will work - never know! 😂

@LG93 - I've got my hopes up this month too - for no reason at all, especially since I've been ill! It's gonna be a particularly miserable FP this cycle ☹️

Miserablemouse · 01/05/2018 15:54

Another one with my hopes up. It just makes FP all the more crushing when you've been feeling optimistic doesn't it?

I am symptom spotting more this week than I have done ever. I normally scoff at people inverting photos of pregnancy tests but yesterday I actually did exactly that Blush. Genuinely ashamed of myself! Need a gin!!

Limp how are the wedding plans coming?

LexieJean · 01/05/2018 16:16

I’m 9dpo and really trying not to get my hopes up. Although I have invoked the law of sod and gotten myself a new job!! Whoop! 🥂 I just can’t hack it at my present one any more- it makes me so miserable. So happy there’s an end in sight and a new adventure in a few weeks. Not quite a baby but it will have to do as I seem to have tumblewomb

Pinkemi · 01/05/2018 16:40

So its been back to normality for me! Had a weekend away which was fantastic.. although I ate far too much and am now back to my "weight-I-swore-I-would-never-see-again!" Sad

Have been trying to be really good today... over my calories but its still in a decent range so im not stressing too much about it.

I have taken a real... i dont know.. like.. whatever attitude to this month of TTC. I think ive (sadly) convinced myself that its not going to happen so whats the point? Obviously Ill still sob though when FP arrives!

hope everyone is okay.. I did read up on the thread but I had about 8 pages so it would take too long to reply to everyone! sorry!

LimpLettice · 01/05/2018 16:45

Like a bit of the law of the sod Lexie, hope it works.

Mouse eeek is all I can say. Still quite a bit to do, mainly because we have been shang hai'ed into more weddingy things than we would have done without interfering mothers. And I am shattered, which isn't helping. Poor MrLettice is coping admirably with the hormonal tired grumps but in a lot of ways we just want to get it out of the way and get back to normality!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/05/2018 17:01

I've just ordered an ovusense monitor - another £60 thrown at project baby! I dread to think over the last year how much ttc has cost me! Just waiting for FP to arrive and then I can start taking the clomid - I'm kind of excited and shitting myself all at once! Praying it works but also that I don't turn into a CrAzY lady Grin

@Pinkemi. If It makes you feel better, weight wise I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating! I'm trying but DH is not helping. He's a foodie so dieting around him is no easy thing.
