Welcome @justkeeprunning5 Smile

Thanks for all the spot tips ladies, will smother my chin in Savlon tonight as I do have some of that in. I have also got a green primer; it's a shame chins are so prominent, never feel as though I can disguise it that well Sad

LexieJean · 30/05/2018 08:17

Welcome @running5!

Great info on the spots yammers, thank you. I’m always happy to try something that might appease my skin and reduce my acne.

In symptom spotting news I’m eating everything in sight so I must be greedy pg right?

bridget33 · 30/05/2018 09:33

Checking in! I have had a smily on an ovulation test this morning so think I'll ovulate today or tomorrow (cd 16/17). Am worried my luteal phase is too short - I am due FP in 10 days so am going to try vitamin b6 for the rest of my cycle. I have used it before but started having a weird tingling sensation in my hands...Am so tempted to try yams as well! WinkShould be getting the test results back for DH second SA tomorrow as well...eek. Congrats to those with bfps! Such fab news x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 30/05/2018 11:59

@WonkyDonk87. Just catching up! Congratulations! :-)

Cd29 here, FP probably not due for another week or so yet.

I've been off sugar for the last week & a bit, I started to think it might be hindering things. DH is helping me this time by cutting it out too. I did another DIY progesterone test yesterday so I should find out later today or early tomorrow whether I've ovulated.

We've decided that we are giving it until Oct & then using rain coats again until next August when we go to Disneyland for my 30th. I need that to look forward to & if I got pregnant before that then I wouldn't feel able to do anything whilst we were there. I don't mind taking a new born if we get lucky bit I wouldn't want to chance it whilst pregnant.

Chooklass · 30/05/2018 11:59

I'm 8dpo and starting to get the constant urge to poas! Aargh! How long can I resist? Hate this game.

Chooklass · 30/05/2018 12:02

Well done on the low sugar @LookingAtTheStars89 ! I fell of the wagon a bit a few weeks ago but back on it now. I missed my clear skin but it's nearly fixed again. Disneyland trip will be a great treat to look forward to!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 30/05/2018 12:15

@Chooklass. Yeah I fell off too lol and it made me feel bad so I got back on. My skin has cleared up nicely since. I have to lose some weight. Fingers crossed for you!

Yes, I'm a Disney fanatic, this will be my sixth time Grin My parents are coming this time which will be nice, my DD (5) adores my Dad and he her so she will probably spent most of her time being piggy backed around the park Grin

HidCat · 30/05/2018 17:54

@LookingAtTheStars89 I do love a Disney trip! Which one are you going too? Hubby is desperate to go back to Florida but I've said we need to know where we are baby wise first.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 30/05/2018 18:11

@HidCat. We are going to Paris, I don't want to risk getting zika, I wouldn't want my Dd's to get it either. I don't mind though, I love the country and the language. Some people look down on the Paris one and I never understand why, it's lovely.

HidCat · 30/05/2018 19:50

I've never been, but I'd love to take my DS. I loved going to France and I've never been to Paris so it's a bit of a bucket list thing.

LexieJean · 30/05/2018 20:05

I have basically only eaten sugary things today and promptly felt exhausted and dizzy in my yoga class. I need to start my new job soon so I stop boredom eating!!!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 30/05/2018 21:27

@HidCat. Hmm, all this ttc stuff puts a hold on everything!

@LexieJean. That sounds so good 😭 I miss sugar! I have found myself literally fantasizing about chocolate. I was watching Disneyland YouTube videos with my DD and I was like "Man I'm going to eat that" "Ooh! Look at those cupcakes" 😂

LexieJean · 31/05/2018 08:27

😂 @looking I bet Disney cupcakes are gooooood!!

DoAsDreamersDo · 31/05/2018 09:47

Ooh I loved DisneyLand Paris. We were there about this time last year and it was lovely and hot (so it felt quite similar to Orlando).

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 10:18

@DoAsDreamersDo. It gets surprisingly hot! We we're there last June during a heatwave and it was about 38c!!

DoAsDreamersDo · 31/05/2018 10:24

Looking Ah maybe it was just exceptionally hot last year! I remember it was beautiful. I think I may have to have a look at going back next year too x

bridget33 · 31/05/2018 10:30

Hu yeammers, I just called gynaecology to see how long my referral will take and they predict I'll be seen in September/ October time...feels like an age away. Has anyone gone private and have any idea on prices? X

LexieJean · 31/05/2018 11:08

Hey @bridget33 that does feel like ages away, my wait time was 2-3 months from gp referral but I know it always varies. When we looked into private ivf there was zero wait time- if we’d needed further tests (we’d already had everything required done) they would have done it immediately depending on my cycle. But it does all add up- approx £150 for SA, and then £150 upwards for each test you require too.
Best of luck deciding how you want to proceed 💐

bridget33 · 31/05/2018 11:52

Thanks @LexieJean. I've just realised I spelt hi yammers wrong! We have had the SA (we are just waiting for the second results) and I've had blood tests and an ultrasound. I'm just wondering what the next stage would be...would it be a vaginal ultrasound and a lap and dye test next? I have also read about an AMH test to check egg count. I just wonder if I should wait or just crack on with a private consultation (funds allowing).

LexieJean · 31/05/2018 12:22

Well @bridget if you have a clinic in mind you could ask them which tests they’d recommend? I had an HSG and day 21 bloods will asses your Amh.

Will going private for the tests help? If everything is clear/normal and you join the unexplained infertility club (of which I’m a member!) won’t you still have to wait for an nhs referral? I’m just wondering if spending all that £££ will really speed things up?

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 12:25

SCREAMS. For God's sake. I just phoned the lab for my blood results and they reckon they haven't even received it yet! I just phoned my local post office and they are going to look into it. Man I'm going to be pissed if they've lost it! Without that I will have no idea if I ovulated or not! Angry Angry

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 12:25

I sent it special next day and it cost me £6.50!!

TheDayDreamBeliever · 31/05/2018 12:45

I know it's possibly not advocated but I emailed a multiple miscarriage specialist, I was seen by her clinic with no referral, had a batch of tests & HSG done on NHS. They would have even done the semen analysis for free.

I got 2 consults basically for free, then was told anything else would incur a charge. This woman pioneered NK cell testing for £150 which is money well spent I'd say before going down the IVF route.

I did learn a lot about my bloods and how certain things could affect my fertility never mind carrying a baby.

The clinic is in the Midlands & they're oh so lovely, plus it's easy to get to by motorways. Just a bit of a bugger post HSG, the guy that did it was great and was explaining it all to me, I reached a point pain wise where I had to say please can you just tell me after this is killing me.

Is it me or do you think that gas and air would be nice during HSG's, considering they dilate a balloon full of water in your womb. I took paracetamol and ibropufen as advised, but it had zilch effect.

Also did anyone have a HSG where they couldn't check a tubes latency due to it being obstructed by bowel? Wondering whether maybe you should do an enema before hand if that is common.

LexieJean · 31/05/2018 13:45

Oh no @looking that is so annoying!!! 🤬🤬

LookingAtTheStars89 · 31/05/2018 14:19

They found my results and they were 31.7!! I OVULATED!! It took me about 22 days lol but I bloody ovulated!! I could sit and cry lol
