Glad the roast was nice @limplettice!

No chilled Sunday here, in-laws over for a BBQ to see the new house (which is still in boxes)

Ovusense has now confirmed ovulation on Wednesday which is quite exciting for a pcos'er. It'll make it easier to establish when I'm due and I'f I'm late, as my cycles vary from 25 to 45 days so usually a bit of a waiting game!

LexieJean · 29/04/2018 09:22

Morning yammers! Sorry I missed out on dinner chat too, @limp it sounds delish! But I can’t complain as I got taken out to a very yummy local Italian and drank ALL the wine, even some masala wine for dessert. It was great! Sod the 2ww, I’m sure I’m not pg anyway and I’m sick of it.

Ooh @limp enjoy this crazy week and have a fabulous time next weekend! 👰

Still got everything crossed for all you upduffed yammers because I’m a dried up bitch who doesn’t congratulate enough and hopeful of sticky beans 🤞

Bubblegum89 · 29/04/2018 11:09

I had to have a chlamydia swab too FairyAnn it’s just routine. I think it’s because it can go undetected and it can cause infertility because it can turn into PID

Bubblegum89 · 29/04/2018 11:53

Also, I did an opk Friday night (CD10) for fun and because I’d had some ewcm (although it was creamy not clear) and it was negative but the second line was quite dark. Took another yesterday afternoon and the test line was much lighter and my cm has been lotion-y. By CD12, so today, it’s usually either clear/watery or ewcm if I’m lucky. Plus my lines on opks get gradually darker. My cm is about as infertile as it gets right now. Could it be because I’m ill? Or could it be that I’m not ovulating again? I don’t think I ovulated yet because my fw didn’t start until Thursday and prior to that (and after) I’ve had no fertile cm at all besides that weird creamy ewcm stuff. Not that I can do anything this month anyway but after last month I wanted to make sure I was on track to ov but it looks like I’m not...

Chooklass · 29/04/2018 12:47

Could be because you are ill @Bubblegum89 . When I had flu a few months back I ovulated over a week later than normal and remember reading about it then. Wasn't even sure if I had ov really, but got fp 8/9 days later than normal.

Paranormalbouquet · 29/04/2018 12:52

@Bubblegum89 are you sure you haven’t already ovulated? Or perhaps being unwell has delayed it? It’s really unlikely you aren’t ovulating if you have a monthly period.

I’ve had more spotting and brown blood wiping this morning. I know it’s going to keep happening but after losing the last 3 pregnancies I have no faith in my body to maintain this one.

Bubblegum89 · 29/04/2018 13:12

I don’t think I already ovulated because my cm hasn’t gone fertile yet which it always does without fail 2-3 days before I’m due to ov. I’ve just been having the creamy lotion type stuff. I know I didn’t ov last cycle and I’m worried now that something is wrong :/ I don’t mind if I end up ov’ing late but I wondered if it was a thing, ov’ing late when you’re ill. Who knows, I’ve given up anyway lol

paranormal sorry to hear you’re having spotting but hopefully it doesn’t mean anything

Paranormalbouquet · 29/04/2018 13:23

I would ovulate late if ill, anything which causes fever always delays my ovulation ‘til I recover.

Si1ver · 29/04/2018 14:11

I saw the beginning of that thread yesterday and it was hideous. I'm pleased it's been deleted and I do hope lovely Kate isn't too upset by the whole thing, nor the rest of my favourite bitter yammers.

Also @biscay, congratulations - just incase we weren't vocal enough first time round Wink

Not long til the wedding now @LimpLettice, do you have everything organised? Please say you've got a fierce red lipstick to go with your amazing dress.

Glad you're starting to feel better now @bubblegum89. Tonsillitis is just hideous and it sounds like you had a bad episode.

I've had my first scan. I've got six follicles, which is better than expected with my AMH level. Next scan is Tuesday and then EC on Thursday or Friday. I'm hoping for Friday 4th, so I can make Star Wars jokes.

Paranormalbouquet · 30/04/2018 08:25

@Si1ver best of luck with egg collection, 6 follicles sounds great. How are you feeling?

Si1ver · 30/04/2018 09:12

Thanks @Para

I'm feeling ok mostly so far, just exhausted. Today's been the worst day so far, I'm feeling tearful and overwhelmed.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 30/04/2018 09:22

Ahhh! Terrible start to the day! I missed my alarm so ended up rushing around like a blue arsed fly. As I was about to leave the house the phone rang and it was gynae cancelling my appointment this afternoon! He said he had just read my referral and I needed to see a fertility nurse, not a gynae.

This might be a dumb question bit what is the difference?

@Si1ver. I hope it goes ok :-)

@Paranormalbouquet. I hope you are doing ok x

Paranormalbouquet · 30/04/2018 10:36

Thanks @LookingAtTheStars89, I’m still anxious but don’t think I’ll ever not be! Bleeding has stopped for now at least. Going to call EPU again today and if they are still unhelpful I’ll phone my GP to see if she can refer me for a scan at 7-8 weeks.

I think a fertility nurse is the first line in a fertility clinic- they tak your history and advise you of options available locally and arrange some tests. Hope the wait isn’t too long.

@Si1ver I think some emotional lability is completely expected during the process. Hope your other half is taking care of you.

LG93 · 30/04/2018 17:10

Rubbish day at work surrounded by loads of pregnant colleagues. The plan was always to stay there until I fell pregnant and then leave after my mat leave as didn't want to risk not having maternity pay if I fell pregnant too early into a new role. Having a rubbish time at work and desperate to leave but feel like I should be thinking of the finances, but the flip to that is if I'd left when I first started ttc I'd be Eligible for maternity pay at a new place by now, and potentially may still have several months before I fell pregnant anyway. Just wish I had a crystal ball so I could know how long it'll be, I hate the not knowing 😩

Owlpatrol · 30/04/2018 18:33

Ahh hun @LG93 same here there's a few of us same boat on here! I only get statutory as well so I'm like what the hell is the point! I'm so stressed as well and I'm sure it's not helping things with pregnancy. I also have no idea what to do with my life now!!

Spottyyellowdress · 30/04/2018 19:05

@lg93 echoing @owlpatrol - it’s the worst, feel like everyone at work is pregnant! So unbelievably stressed as well, I think I had actual heart palpitations this morning! Considering calling in sick tomorrow and just getting my head together.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 30/04/2018 19:17

Friends, I have a confession. Don’t kick me out of the group or anything but today I had....

........yam. Actual proper yam. So if I get pregnant, that’s what it is. Not the HyCoSy, the vitamins, the Proseed or Proxeed, the 24+ cycles, or the fact my thyroid is pretty much where it should be. It’s the fucking yam.

Owlpatrol · 30/04/2018 19:41

@SparkwoodAnd21 oooh exciting!!!

I feel ok today a bit more positive. My mum's been great she's actually said I need to chill out now...yes anyone else I'd be like "not another person telling me to chill out" but something about hearing my mum say it has made it sink in more. Now how is it I chill out again....

LexieJean · 30/04/2018 19:53

Oooh @sparkwood! What/how did you have this magic food?

@para hope you’re doing ok as the bleeding has stopped. Hopefully that’s a good sign for you.

Good luck this week @si1ver with EC

I finally received copies of my test results from the fertility clinic and looks like they haven’t tested my thyroid. I thought that was standard before they proceed to ivf (which they’ve already referred us onto). Those of you yammers who’ve had your fertility clinic tests have you all had thyroid checked?

Paranormalbouquet · 30/04/2018 20:00

@LexieJean you should have your thyroid checked as a baseline anyway- your GP can do it and it only takes a few days to come back. I’ve had mine done as part of recurrent miscarriage work up (it’s absolutely perfect so a pill won’t fix me sadly!). Do you know how long the waiting list for ivf is?

@SparkwoodAnd21 I look forward to seeing the results of this study of one.

LexieJean · 30/04/2018 20:24

Thanks @para I thought it was standard hence my irritation and surprise it hasn’t been checked.
We have an appointment end August for nhs ivf, But that’s just the initial referral, I don’t know how long we wait from then. We’ve also looked into a private package (which is why I need copies of my results) which we were planning to start next cycle.

SoozC · 30/04/2018 20:49

Spark, where does one buy actual yams in this country, anyway?!

SoozC · 30/04/2018 20:52

Si1ver, I hope all is okay with you. I won't say "chin up" or anything like that because you're allowed to feel down. Just hope DP is looking after you and got everything crossed for you x

Lexie, can you ask if there are thyroid test results for you? Seems odd they haven't done it. Perhaps they just didn't give it to you?

SparkwoodAnd21 · 30/04/2018 21:35

I got it in London in a brilliant greengrocer near my old house, but @soozc I also saw them in a shop near Oli’s Thai.

Lexie thyroid is an easy check and my GP seemed to know more about it than the fertility consultant. Hope it gets sorted.

Are you going to start making yam products to sell? Perhaps a yam-flavoured massage oil?!
