Well last FW was a bust as I didn’t ovulate and this FW which is my last one before ivf is also a bust. CD9 and spent all day in hospital with what the GP thought was sepsis. I went in with a sore throat and fever thinking I had tonsillitis and she sent me to the hospital immediately because my heart rate was through the roof and I had a high temp. I had bloods done, two bags of fluids and an IV antibiotic. Heart rate is still high but they let me go home with oral antibiotics as long as I promised to go straight back up if I feel unwell again.

So today has been fun. And I do have tonsillitis. And not sepsis (hopefully. I’m assuming that would have shown in my bloodwork?) Bah humbug

starwishing · 26/04/2018 20:40

Poor you @Bubblegum89 I hope you start feeling better soon xxx

Justwaitingforaline · 26/04/2018 20:53

He’d be up for supplements but he also has anti sperm antibodies which means that his immune sees his sperm as a target and attacks it.... there isn’t a cure for it but it can be bypassed by ICSI. Sorry, I forgot to mention that in my post earlier. It’s been a long day Sad

Paranormalbouquet · 26/04/2018 21:11

@Bubblegum89 you poor thing, a bad tonsillitis is really miserable. Hope you improve quickly.

@Justwaitingforaline I’m sorry you got bad news. Probably worth having a consultation at least with fertility clinic to see what the options are.

justmeonly · 26/04/2018 21:51

Hey everyone, two questions that I know you’ll probably be able to answer given that most of you have been through it all already... Thanks in advance...

  1. I’m due my “day 21” test over the BH weekend. I average a 24 day cycle so the dr said aim for day 19, but later if it’s on a weekend (this was before my cycle so I didn’t know when it would fall exactly). So I have the choice of day 18 or 22. Is day 18 better? Or do I need to ring the dr to check?

  2. Has anyone gone through the initial tests whilst you’re registered with different gps? Does it make the process a lot more complicated?

Thanks xx

starwishing · 26/04/2018 22:02

@justmeonly if you have a short cycle I would go day 18. My day 21 fell on BH but the hospital did it so I got in anyway however she said the day after or the Saturday would have been fine.

Like you we have changed gp during tests and treatments. As long as it is all Sent to your gynaecologist it'll be fine. You can ask your go for copies of everything so you can build a file of results that is yours and you can take to various drs if the records take time to transfer over.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 26/04/2018 22:24

miserable that was an awesome typo Grin

@Bubblegum89 Hope you feel better soon, sensible of the GP though - sepsis needs to be treated ASAP when it happens. My mum used to give me mini-milks when I had tonsillitis- bliss!

WonkyDonk87 · 26/04/2018 22:29

*also really enjoyed that typo 😂😂😂

Owlpatrol · 26/04/2018 22:32

@Bubblegum89 hope you feel better soon!

@justmeonly I'd say day 18 as well. Me and my Dh are registered at different doctors and he has to sign a bunch of forms for my dr to then refer us to the clinic

WonkyDonk87 · 26/04/2018 22:36

Does anyone else get spotting before their FP? It's being all crap and not doing anything definite my womb is a knob

MynameisJune · 26/04/2018 22:43

@bubble hope you feel better soon! Sepsis is really bad so better safe!

@justwaiting sorry for the bad news on your DH’s results. Big hugs x

justmeonly · 27/04/2018 06:04

Thanks Owl and Star. My instinct said day 18 too.

I’m not here often (I get too bogged down if I read/write on the subject too often), but thank you guys for being here (even though I wish none of us still were). The lurking gives me a bit of extra sanity sometimes.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 27/04/2018 09:41

The pre FP insomnia has started. I had a dream last night that I was being held hostage by Pat Phelan off of Corrie and I had to call my Dad who's a policeman to send in reinforcements to come and get me! What the hell! Hmm

@Bubblegum89. I hope you're feeling a bit better today x x

Owlpatrol · 27/04/2018 10:07

Morning yammers just been for day 1 bloods but got so emotional I cried to the blooming blood nurse!!!! It as so overwhelming. Dh been great and said it was probably a build up of emotions and stuff so anyway. Here's to the weekend of carbs and wine xx

Miserablemouse · 27/04/2018 10:10

Best/worst typo! Glad it gave you a laugh! Daren't tell H that I've been telling women on the internet about his sword problems Wink

just good luck with your bloods. I second the thank you for this thread. So pleased I joined, you lot are truly sanity-savers.

Bubblegum that sounds truly horrendous. Hope you feel better soon and definitely get yourself straight back into hospital if you feel worse.

I don't get spotting wonky - generally just a bit of brown discharge and then boom, full on FP two hours later. Usually on the least convenient day it could possibly arrive, and often late so I've gotten my hopes up. I really like 'my womb is a knob' as a catchphrase though. Perhaps we all need that on t-shirts? -with a cartoon yam on the back of course

Miserablemouse · 27/04/2018 10:31

Owl oh no! It is overwhelming. Definitely load up on carbs and wine this weekend. Allllll the wine WineWineWine

LookingAtTheStars89 · 27/04/2018 10:59

@Owlpatrol. Hugs Don't worry, it is an emotional thing. The phlebotamists where I go are really nosey! Always asking inappropriate questions "Are you going to have any more children?" Hmm

MynameisJune · 27/04/2018 11:37

@owl I’m constantly on the verge of tears at the minute between TTC and stress at work. I’ve asked to wfh for a couple of days a week for a month or so to try and alleviate the stress. There is no way I’ll conceive being this stressed out.

As an aside an ex colleague had a baby girl and has called her Pixie Belle 🙄 another ex colleague has announced her 2nd pregnancy. Her first baby was born last August. Why are these people allowed to procreate so easily!

WonkyDonk87 · 27/04/2018 12:03

Thanks @Miserablemouse I had it for two days but just the teeniest bit of dark beige, not even brown. Makes my head spin with 'what-ifs'. FP arrived this morning and I'm actually relieved tbh. Stops the late night googling at least!

@Owlpatrol I shall be joining you on the wine train!

LG93 · 27/04/2018 12:08

Ovusense shows raised temperature for a 2 nights in a row now so assumed I've ovulated - not sure how many in a row it'll take to confirm it as first time I've used it. Had big row with DH last night so that was probably our last chance at me being fertile this cycle and missed it so will just have to hope there some that held on from previous day's!

SoozC · 27/04/2018 13:09

Sorry about the tonsillitis, Bubble. Sad I've not had it but I hear it's AGONY. Sending big hugs x

It's easy to store up emotions, Owl, and horrible when it all gets too much and you let loose somewhere inappropriate. I'm sure they took it in their stride, though!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 27/04/2018 16:03

I'm really glad to be on this thread - I know that sounds odd. You're all very lovely. Having read through certain other threads, some people can be really mean Sad. I'm glad we aren't like that here :-)

(P.s sorry if that was a bit twee lol)

LexieJean · 27/04/2018 17:08

Not at all @looking! (Well maybe a bit) but it’s true. It’s a comfort during this crappy struggle that there are some likeminded women I can share with who are supportive and considerate.

@si1ver how are your meds going?

Have a good weekend yammers. 🍠 💖

MrsJackHackett · 27/04/2018 17:37

I'm not sure if I'm welcome, I've gone through premature menopause, with endo, PCOS, adhesions & the icing on the cake recurrent miscarriages.

I'm not TTC but I studied this subject like mad, my DC was from fertility tx, I participated in a few trials so I know quite a bit, although yams is a new thing to me Grin

I did the vitamins, hycosy, lap, so many internal scans I have no longing for a vibrator. I was also one of those who engaged in the we've got to do it now! Fun, fun, fun! Which screams romance.

I can offer all I know about anything gynae & recurrent miscarriages. I hope you welcome me, as I know what it's like, what I know isn't tested for when it comes to your third MC on the NHS. I saw this thread, thought about it & decided it'd be mean not to offer support & knowledge to others.
