When you are counting dpo do you say the day after your surge on ovulation sticks as day one?

Boboelephant · 31/03/2018 09:40

@Laney79 so sorry you're having such a tough time. It really is awful. Hope it's over soon. I don't know about the pills as I had an ERPC but I know there was no bloods for the second scan. The doc told us they aren't accurate because even if the heartbeat has stopped, the placenta keeps growing and that's what gives the hcg reading. Also I took a test 16 days later and it was negative. Ovulated 3 days later and af 14 days after that. I'd try and wait 2 weeks if you can.
@HidCat agghh so annoying!! Do sorry this is dragging on for you.
@Claire138 after my ectopic i didn't tell anyone. I'd never met anyone who had one and I didn't even know what it was before I had it. Then when I had the MMC all the pent up emotions from the last loss came barrelling out too making it even harder. So now I'm determined not to internalize all my pain. I now either tell people the whole story, say to people that we are trying but have had some losses, or just simply yes we would love another. That seems to do the trick. Good luck whatever you decide.
@DaisyMay25 sorry for the bfn.
@Beck1988 and @Cakelaur good luck for the TWW.
@xLeanne128 welcome and I'm sorry for your loss.
@Peachesarenom hopefully the rainbow was a good omen. And you're welcome. 😀
Thanks for the holiday wishes folks!! We arrived last night and the sun is lovely!! Lots of EWCM this morning and a pretty dark line on opk (not positive yet) so good sign I'm on track for ov on Monday. This is great as DH was hardly home last week so bd'ing only started yesterday. Unfortunately for our hotel neighbours our noisy bed bangs into their wall!! 🤣 Too bad, we've got a baby to make!!! 🤣🤣

Boboelephant · 31/03/2018 09:45

@Martydog after your postive opk it then takes 12-48 hours for the egg to release. So you may ov day after pos but it may also be day after that. If you don't temp or get ov pain prob safe to count 1dpo as 3 days after your surge. Another good sign is that your EWCM should dry up as soon as you've ovulated.

Martydog · 31/03/2018 09:59

Thanks @boboelephant. My surge was Thursday afternoon and EWCM dried up mostly yesterday so today is dpo 1 then! Which means if we get pregnant this cycle the bean will be due on my birthday!

Kingy2910 · 31/03/2018 10:07

@laney79 I had a mmc from first initial spotting to actually mc it took just over three weeks. I let nature take its course. Then it was 2 weeks after that I had a negative test. I'm now about 6 weeks pregnant (I think) but nhs are dating me from mc so around 8 weeks. Everyone is different though but thought I'd share my experience.

Cakelaur · 31/03/2018 10:47

@peachesarenom as requested. A pic of our boy. This time in two weeks we'll be picking him up! 😍
@Martydog I temp. So my dpo is from temp shift. But I think most go from the day after positive opk.
@Beck1988 looks like it's you,me @Martydog in the TWW babe!!
I've just had my last pineapple core day. Progesterone cream is being used twice a day. Not sure I'm seeing much difference in my temps. But I defo feel better for using it. #placeboeffect

@Boboelephant what a great setting for making a baby! Middle name Tenerife 😝
If I go away I always ov later that expected haha. Which of course (before temping) made me think I was 100% pregnant! 🙈

peachesarenom · 31/03/2018 10:51

Aww Cakelaur you've made my day. I've just joined the dog spotting society on facebook and it's amazing!!!

hayleyfx · 31/03/2018 11:46

@xLeanne128 I’m sorry for your loss, I hope you get your rainbow this month Smile
@Bobo oh Tenerife really is lovely right now, just got home at 12am last night and missing the sun so much already lol! Hope you have a great holiday!
@Cakelaur he is absolutely gorgeous 😍

Laney79 · 31/03/2018 12:00

Thanks for the advice/experience ladies. Trying to look forward rather than focus on the limbo I'm on at the mo.

GP has prescribed higher strength folic acid on the basis it won't do me any harm-but I didn't ask if I should take it now or wait until after the MC is complete...any ideas?

peachesarenom · 31/03/2018 12:33

Laney79 I have that too. You should take it from now xxx

Primrose16 · 31/03/2018 12:41

So just noticed that I have some EWCM, I would get on it. But I fucking hate my husband!!! I feel so bloody emotional because he is a knobhead, because I wanted to give my body a break, but a part of me didn’t as what if this is my month to get a sticky one and I didn’t try. Ah well nothing I can do- did I mention that I hate my husband!!!!!! 😡

DaisyMay25 · 31/03/2018 12:43

@Cakelaur omg for fluffy!!! Hopefully these two weeks fly by fit you so you can have puppy cuddles soon, a very different TWW!

@hayleyfx hope you had a good holiday! Did AF turn up in the end?

@Boboelephant sending some baby dust over to Tenerife for you! Enjoy your holiday, hopefully a nice holiday is just the thing needed this month for you!

Boboelephant · 31/03/2018 13:50

Fingers crossed @Martydog!
@Cakelaur haha! Baby Bobo Tenerife.... I have everything with me. Vitamins, seeds, supplements, thermometer and about 50 opks so shouldn't miss it. The housekeeping must think I'm nuts!! 🤣🤣
Thanks @hayleyfx and @DaisyMay25!!! 🌞🌞
@Primrose16 I'm sorry. Things sound shit. Sending hugs x

peachesarenom · 31/03/2018 14:34

Primrose16 I love/hate my husband too! Maybe give it an hour and it'll be love again?

Primrose16 · 31/03/2018 14:39

@peachesarenom I wish that was the case.

Tefiti2 · 31/03/2018 14:45

Hi (again) lovely ladies. Had an early MC in Feb and got my BFP last week, but started bleeding heavily and have lost all symptoms this morning, gutted to have had two early losses in a row and feeling disheartened but more determined than ever! Has anyone else experienced this? I understand the GP won’t refer until after 3 losses - is that right?

Beck1988 · 31/03/2018 15:20

@tefiti2 so sorry you are going through this again! I'm so scared that if I get pregnant again this will happen and I don't think I would cope aswell as the 1st one! Think it's horrible how the doctors just expect you to move on with no tests till 3rd miscarriage! Hope your feeling alright! Big hugs x

Primrose16 · 31/03/2018 15:30

@Tefiti2 I’m sorry for your loss. After my second miscarriage I went to the gp and was told that there was no support as 2 can be ‘normal’. Luckily my 3rd pregnancy resulted in my daughter. After another 2 the doctor has referred me. I would say no harm asking. Mine said no after 2 but you never know x

hayleyfx · 31/03/2018 17:42

@tefiti oh no I’m so sorry for your loss! Sending you virtual hugs SadFlowers I was also told that they wouldn’t look into it any further unless I had 3 MC’s. I’m thinking about calling on Monday as I’ve now had a MC at 12 weeks and one chemical (possibly two) all in a row and I’m pretty worried. It can’t harm to ask, if they say no, they say no but hopefully they can be helpful instead. So sorry you’re going through this again, I also got a few faint positives last week then started bleeding Sad it’s so disappointing and upsetting x

strawberrye · 31/03/2018 17:55

Hi all just checking in. CD11 here, not really had much in the way of BDing this cycle yet as I've been on nights. However we're about to go on holiday and I'm hoping I might ovulate whilst we're away so those magical holiday vibes might make it our month, fingers crossed! Not sure whether throw caution to the wind and allow myself a (small) amount of wine and time in the hot tub? Avoiding hot baths and no alcohol has clearly had sod all impact so far so I'm tempted to just enjoy myself... Thoughts ladies?

@Tefiti2 sorry to hear you're going through a loss again, that's crap. How old are you? According to the miscarriage association tests can be offered if you've had two pregnancy losses if you're in your late 30s or 40s, or if it's taken a long time to conceive www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/information/miscarriage/recurrent-miscarriage/

hayleyfx · 31/03/2018 18:13

@strawberrye enjoy your holiday! I’ve just come back from Tenerife and it definitely relaxed me a lot Grin as for the alcohol and hot tubs I say just go for it! That’s what I’m doing. Last month I basically told my OH to not drink at all Blush😂 but this month, he’s having a very boozy night tomorrow night to celebrate his birthday and there’s no stopping him from getting pretty tipsy I’m sure! (Which he doesn’t do often at all so it’s only fair lol) Tbh I think that stress is probably worse than alcohol for TTC? So if it relaxes you then do it and enjoy it! Smile Annoyingly it seems to be true for a lot of people that when you stop trying so hard - that’s when it happens! Which I know is hard to do but I’m really trying lol. FX the relaxed approach works Smile

Claire138 · 31/03/2018 19:01

@boboelephant sounds like your holiday is perfect timing! Perfect place to relax and take everything in your stride!
Yes, think I’m going to be honest. These friends I’ve known for years, but if it’s just nosey acquaintances I will just revert to the half smile and fob it off.
@primrose16 hope you’re doing ok. Maybe give yourself some space from DH and hopefully then you guys will feel a bit better.
@tefiti2 so sorry to hear you are going through this again! It’s so frustrating that after a loss we are marched on our way and told “better luck next time”. I think go to dr and see what they can do. No harm in trying.
@strawberrye I would absolutely throw caution to the wind and have a few glasses of wine. I actually read an article that encouraged you to have a glass of wine to help you relax. As long as your aren’t getting absolutely trollied, you’ll be fine.
@cakelaur he’s getting big! 😍 I’m sure you are so excited!

Daffodils86 · 31/03/2018 19:10

I figured you would all be the best to sound my fears to.
I had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago, i had a neg hpt today and CM is going through a normal pattern. I think EWCM will be in a few days along with ovulation, my boobs are bit sensitive too.

We plan to try despite not have a full cycle yet. However im starting to panic!
Is it ok to conceive, really, so soon, without a period/1cycle. Will it just happen again!
Even if we dont and go to next cycle, it could still happen again.
I dont want to suffer from such fear and anxiety while TTC and during next pregnancy, but i can feel it creeping in...

Sloeberrygin · 31/03/2018 19:31

@Tefiti2 I'm so sorry Flowers
@Laney79 such an awful limbo to be in. Sorry you're going through this
@claire138 (I think... I can't flick to the previous page to see who was talking about this but I think it was you!) about telling people... My mc was in the 2nd trimester and I had a bump so most people know what happened as we'd already told lots of people/they'd already realised I was pregnant. At first that seemed to make it harder but actually I think it's been good to be able to talk openly about it. I think that if anyone else (i.e. aquaintances etc) asks me anything I'm going to be honest and say briefly/simply that I've had a loss. And I was thinking that if I do ever get pregnant again I may well tell a few people earlier on than I have done previously. If I had another mc then I'd want support- I've been absolutely blown away by people's kindness since my mc.
