The Yam Commandments are as follows;

• Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

• Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

• Thou shalt not be offended by strong language

• Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams

• Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

• Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

Can I add into the no-nos for ttc speak just general text speak? Drives me crazy when people can't punctuate properly or write c u tomoz or something shit. (Apologies to any dear Yammers who type like this, but I do feel we put on a good show of SPaG awareness on here which makes me happy!)

Totally prepared to be told IABU though. It's got nothing to do with ttc, I just hate text speak. Even in WhatsApp messages I am perfectly punctuated, thank you very much!

looking all carbs are eventually broken down to sugar so as well as avoiding refined sugar we avoid potatoes, pasta, rice, bread etc and most fruits.

I've had an OK day, have now told DM we have been refered to the fertility clinic but she doesn't really get it as caught on easily herself and keeps going on about DN and pointing out cute baby stuff out shopping

Also have EWCM but also have house guests and a poorly DH so bleurgh.

Oh, and seeing as we've had it suggested that there is no such thing as sharing too much information - Agnus Castus may not have been my wonder cure and gotten me pregnant but it's definitely shortened my cycle (33 days!!!) and made my period heavier with all sorts of ewcm style bits and clots. That's a good thing, right? Last year I had whole ones where I didn't even know if it counted as it was just days of crap brown discharge but this one is some Carrie style shit - hurrah!

wonky I’ve been thinking of taking Agnus castus, does it really help with periods? I really just want healthier periods every month instead of the brown crap

Well.... I can't provide you with any actual science, just my personal experience. I've just finished my second bottle this morning. 60 capsules in each, i take one in the morning and one before bed. So I was taking it for about two weeks (no maths can be attempted after 9pm) before my last crappy period which ended a 78 day cycle. This cycle was 33 days, ewcm on at least one day, sore/sensitive boobs for two weeks and then a heavier and bright red period. I'm tentatively hoping it will keep my cycle shorter and improve the amount/balance of estrogen and in particular progesterone in the LP (which I couldn't test for deficiency due to wonky cycles).

DH has pointed out that if I got pregnant next cycle we're at the feared at-risk-Christmas-baby-time (oh how naive I was last year). I told him that if that happens and someone makes a comment I'll punch them in the face.

Ugh I hate when people go on about how they don’t want a Christmas baby and that they are going to stop ttc for a month so they don’t have one. Oh to have that luxury. I couldn’t give a toss if I had a baby on Christmas Day, I’ll take a baby on any day of the year
