Thread 6... 😑

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

LG93 · 11/04/2018 20:33

So pleased to hear your good news @limp!

I hope you have a very uneventful 7 months or so!

Bumblebee25 · 11/04/2018 21:16

Wonderful news Limp! This really gives me hope. Wishing you uneventful pregnancy!

Got uberly smug baby bomb on Facebook today which has completely floored me. Trying to tell myself I don’t know their background but have also decided that if we ever have a baby, I won’t gloat on social media.

Got results for blood tests back which all came back normal but progesterone was 26.9 nmol/L on day 22 (as ovulated on day 15 and was asked to have it 7 dpo) so does anyone know is this high enough? Dr Google says it should be over 30 but FP arrived 5 days later so levels could have been dropping... I tend to have LP of 12 days. DH has his doctor’s appointment in a few weeks time so do they usually give referral to get SA done and where, errr, to deposit so to speak? Smile

starwishing · 11/04/2018 21:27

@Bumblebee25 when I got my letter for bloods it had a letter with it asking my OH to collect a sample pot from the gp and take it to the testing lab at the hospital. It had to be a week or more before our appointment with the FS so the results were all of the same time.

WonkyDonk87 · 11/04/2018 21:30

Can't answer about bloods I'm afraid as never had them done. DH had SA though... he'll have to wank in a pot then get it to the hospital in under 30 minutes, keeping it warm as possible (tucked in pocket I guess). Grin

Paranormalbouquet · 11/04/2018 21:41

@Bumblebee25 if you have a shorter luteal phase your progesterone may have been dropping; it would be idea to talk to your doctor about maybe having a few levels checked next cycle (if there is a next cycle!). I hate the social media gloating too. I know people are just excited but it’s so thoughtless.

Bumblebee25 · 11/04/2018 22:01

Ah thanks Wonky and Star, that should put DH’s mind at rest as it took me weeks to get him to book the appointment and he’s been worried if he has to wank in a clinical hospital room! Good idea Paranormal, I’ll ask if I can get another blood test.

Someone was asking about acupuncture earlier and having tried it, I can thoroughly recommend it. Obvs didn’t get me pregnant despite the lady declaring all her patients have gotten pregnant but it did bring my O forward to CD14/15 from 19-21. I found it very relaxing so for me it was a great stress reliever. Plus it was nice to talk to someone in real life without judgement, unhelpful comments etc.

starwishing · 11/04/2018 22:07

I'm having acupuncture on Saturday. I had it before but given my insides were all endometriosis covered I guess it was never going to work 😆

mrskittenpie · 11/04/2018 22:22

Hi ladies
Long time lurker, wondered if i could join?
June will be 4 years ttc our second. Ds would love a sibling and can't really get his head round the fact he's the only only child around, the last of my friends to have one child has recently baby bombed me. There are fucking baby bombs everywhere. I actively avoid any pregnant friends, talk of babies, baby showers, etc etc. I am a woman possessed every month (take far too many pregnancy tests 'just in case') but unfortunately they are always, always negative. It's turned me into a bitter old cow. Despise hearing 'well meaning advice' - "have you heard of ovulation tests?" - I've tried every vitamin going, reflexology, acupuncture- there is officially nothing else left to try. Had private tests done which came back fine. We fully extended the upstairs of our house for all the subsequent babies we were going to have and now the rooms just lie empty - which is like a slap in the face every single day. I feel like a complete failure so wondered if I could vent here sometimes when I am particularly hating the world. Everyone around me gets knocked up so easily. Every month my body plays a cruel trick on me - this month's was to wait until I peed on a frer then FP started before the test line had even dried - 2 days early too for that extra kick when I'm down. Sorry for the rant, I do lurk here and think you are all ace Grin

Owlpatrol · 11/04/2018 22:54

Hi ladies wondered if I could join? Also been a long time lurked and mostly this was because I was still trying to be upbeat on all the "normal " threads. I'm sad to see so many faces but quite relieved to see you as well makes me feel less lonely.
Lovely to see @LimpLettice update this gives us all hooe!
I'm on cycle 16 this time and currently thinking it's an anvoluntary cycle if that's the word? I've got my day 21 bloods next week dh not keen on giving a SASad
Also found out we don't qualify for IVF which is a massive blow due to dh previous children with previous partner so I'm so bummed about that!

starwishing · 11/04/2018 23:00

Hi @mrskittenpie and @Owlpatrol I lurk many places and also hate smug pregnant people who "weren't even trying" and "we started trying last month and it was so difficult when we didn't get pregnant straight away but now we are having ten all at once" but especially the "it's so horrible being pregnant. I hate it so much and this fifth will be the last little accident I swear" people.

Paranormalbouquet · 11/04/2018 23:04

I have less jealousy of the BFPs, because i seem to get pregnant relatively easy. I just don’t stay pregnant. So what annoys me is people saying “at least you know you can get pregnant”. Because the first weeks of pregnancy are such fun I want to keep repeating them without taking home a baby?!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 11/04/2018 23:22

@Owlpatrol. Glad you decided to come over here :-) Well, not glad that you're here but you know what I mean! As lovely as the ladies are on the buses it can leave you feeling so deflated seeing all of those names hop on and straight off the buses whilst you're still trying AGAIN.

Bubblegum89 · 12/04/2018 00:42

Hello newbies! Owlpatrol hiya, I’ve seen you around the conception board quite a lot ☺️

Okay. I’m genuinely thinking I might be ovulating. I was a little skeptical that I ovulated when I was meant to because despite ov pains and ewcm, I never quite got a positive opk and I have gotten positive opks every month I’ve used them in this last 18 months. I mentioned the creamy watery cm earlier that I’ve been having and tonight it’s been clear watery, like fertile cm :/ plus I’m having small pinching pains in the general uterus area. I took an opk just in case and there’s a line but it’s pretty faint so nowt exciting.

Does it sound like maybe I didn’t ov when I was meant to and my body is trying again? Would explain the abundance of cm I’ve been getting. voice in my head is screaming PLEASE STOP OVERTHINKING THIS

OP posts:
Paranormalbouquet · 12/04/2018 06:44

@Bubblegum89 either is possible. You may have not ovulated when you thought or you may be getting EWCM because you are pregnant or because your body just wants to piss you off. When is your period due?

Pinkemi · 12/04/2018 06:49

Clutching at straws here.. But if you have a cold virus.. can that make your BBT drop? Mine dropped to my coverlinr this morning and don't want to accept that FP is just 3 days late. Lol

MynameisJune · 12/04/2018 06:52

@bubble there could be loads of reasons why you’re feeling pinching pains and getting watery cm. When is fp due?

@pink not sure, my bbt also goes high when I’ve got a cold or an illness. Have you tested yet?

FairyAnn · 12/04/2018 07:04

Hey Yammers, sorry I haven't been around much. Been feeling a bit meh about it all.

Currently two days late for AF but I know for certain it's coming so now I'm just like 'Get on with it!' like that scene from Monty Python.

Paranormalbouquet · 12/04/2018 07:14

@Pinkemi infection can maske BBT go up or down. At 3 days late I think a test is justified if you can take the disappointment if it is negative.

@FairyAnn sorry you’ve been feeling off. This constant thinking about getting pregnant/staying pregnant can really get you down.

FairyAnn · 12/04/2018 07:19

Thanks @paranormalbouquet, it's just facing it month after month after month. We've got our first fertility clinic appointment in a couple of weeks but I think a little part of me thought we might just get lucky this month 😞
