Thread 6... 😑

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Cariad2017 I’ve been looking at new job and new house. I clearly need as much distraction as possible! Hope something treatable is found for your husband.

My nipples are still burning so wish FP would just start (several days early!). My surgery is due bang in the middle of my next fertile period, and keen as I am to conceive doubt I’ll be up to sex the day after major abdominal surgery! Fingers crossed I won’t need GnRH treatment afterwards as that adds another 3 months on to the time. So earliest time I can try marks 1 year since we first started TTC number 2. I’m irrationally angry with DH as I wanted to try again over a year earlier but he really wanted a bigger gap. At least my issues would have been picked up earlier and I might have had a better chance of sorting them.

I’m looking at a minimum of a 5 year age gap and it’s breaking my heart at the moment as I know DD would love a sibling.

Paranormalbouquet · 11/04/2018 08:10

Oh and good luck @LimpLettice, you are giving me hope that there may be light at the end of my very dark tunnel!

SoozC · 11/04/2018 08:35

Limp!!! Got everything crossed for you, let us know as soon as you can xx

We're looking to buy a house. I'm trying to make that my distraction this year, but it hasn't stopped me googling '3dpo sore nipple' facepalm

Pinkemi · 11/04/2018 08:48

Bbt dropped again this morning so pretty sure FP will arrive today.. (bee dropping 3 days now. ) Sad

This month will be a year of TTC. Never did I think I would be one of those people who took longer then a few months. (Pity party over here.)

MynameisJune · 11/04/2018 08:52

@cariad sorry for the bfn lovely, and for the news on DH’s results. Keeping everything crossed that they find a treatable cause and that the new diet reaps huge benefits. We’ve also flown past the 3 year age gap now as well, I’m still trying to get my head around it. Although DD’s current behaviour makes me a little bit glad I don’t also have a newborn 🙈. Exciting news on the house move, we moved into a house that needed complete renovation and got pregnant 6 weeks later after years of trying. I’ve tried to talk DH into moving again so I could recreate the circumstances but he isn’t having any of it 😂

starwishing · 11/04/2018 09:38

Hiya. Can I join? We've been ttc since September 2015 so certainly tried all the random advice and more. I'm currently pretty negative about ttc right now because I feel like it's a waste of time 😆 I'll be happy for everyone though because whenever I join a thread everyone in it gets a bfp very very quickly. It's like I give away all my baby luck!

LexieJean · 11/04/2018 10:20

Urgh. Feel pretty despondent with the whole TTC thing today. I have actually lost count how long it’s been, in the summer it will be 2 years and that scares me shitless. I am literally the only woman (non yammers) who is not upduffed. So happy for my friends blah blah blah.
My OH flipped out cause I was talking to a friend about TTC- he doesn’t want anyone to know. I was like ‘my head is actually going to explode if I don’t have anyone irl I can talk to!’ OH doesn’t count. He is also desperate for us to start a family but just doesn’t get the stress of poas or constantly wondering what my body is doing etc. I mean neither do my friends as no one else has struggled for this long.
Ok, sorry yammers. I’m having a pity party here. Trying to distract myself by finding a new job but that’s not exactly relaxing!!

starwishing · 11/04/2018 10:38

@LexieJean I'll join your pity party. Lost count of cycle number because my periods are STUPID but started ttc in September 2015 so been 2.5yrs ish. My SIL has recently had a brother and now another SIL is knocked up. Worst of all my mother is crying over the fact it's the best thing to ever happen in our family and ignoring the fact it's a bit off to gush to me about it because "they hadn't even thought about starting a family it just happened and is such a miracle" gush gush gush 🤢 I'm happy for them... not much though. I bought them a present.

LexieJean · 11/04/2018 11:31

There’s no way to win @starwishing either telling people or not. My MIL has stopped asking questions, I think she’s figured out somethings not quite right. Bravo for buying them a present. You’re a nicer woman than me!

Which yammer was it who had the kick arse response to the ‘are you trying’ invasive question? Something along the lines of: wow! You’re brave to ask that- imagine if the person you asked was really struggling to conceive or didn’t want children, or couldn’t have them and you just insensitively barged in on a personal matter. paddington bear stare
I might try this at an upcoming family wedding.

starwishing · 11/04/2018 11:36

@LexieJean the thing is my mum knows we are struggling to conceive and knows we have even got as far as me having surgery. Yet still she's telling me how amazing it will be to become a grandma (she already is one as my son is three) and if I can't be as happy as she is maybe I shouldn't visit anymore. She said if I wanted another baby o could have one as obviously there was nothing wrong before!

LexieJean · 11/04/2018 11:41

Oh @starwishing so many people just don’t get it! It seems to be even worse when it’s your own mother.

Bubblegum89 · 11/04/2018 11:57

Good luck today limp thinking of you :)

Also can you all tell me to give my head a wobble please? I’ve got increased cm and it’s quite watery (although creamy coloured) and it’s kind of like when you are in FW and it feels like you’ve wet yourself lol it’s not “normal” for me in the tww but I KNOW cm means absolutely nothing but my brain won’t allow any logical thought processes. I need bringing back to reality.

haha I'm like you today @Bubblegum89. Just did my internal check for CM.. and was like.. hmm my cervix still feels really high.. and no sign of blood. I'm 1 day over due my FP.. and fighting every temptation to do a test. (Not sure I actually have one in the house thinking about it.)

Boobs are pretty sore today.. but cant work out if that is just a normal PMS symptom or I'm just focusing on it today because of the fact im 1 day late. haha.

I know 1 day late is nothing to write home about.. and i really shouldn't get my hopes up seeing as BBT has dropped 3 days in a row to quite close to being under my cover line. Plus my bowels hate me which is normally another indication.. plus ive been craving chocolate and am SO emotional. Face it.. FP is coming! LOL

SoozC · 11/04/2018 12:35

Bubble, can't help, I'm just as bad!!! Grin

MynameisJune · 11/04/2018 12:36

@bubble it could be a good sign or your body could be being a dick like mine. The last two cycles it has decided that things aren’t going to erm dry up before fp arrived. Oh no things will get much wetter just to go against everything you read about women’s cycles 🙄

starwishing · 11/04/2018 12:44

My cycle is a dick most of the time. I can get to a week late and be like "ohhhh my cervix is high! There's no blood and no symptoms" then an hour later it's dropped down like a stone and it's the shower scene from psycho down there. Sorry. I wish you guys all the luck in the world. I'm just anti symptom spotting because I always have loads and amount to nothing 😆

LimpLettice · 11/04/2018 12:58

The symptoms are NOT symptoms. Wobble. Until they are. 🙄

1st hospital visit of the day done. We saw a little kidney bean and a super fast flickery heartbeat! Bit confuddled by their dating, puts me at 7+1 instead of plus 5, but she said my massively tilted womb might make that a little off plus the miscarriage makes it hard for me to date. I was only going by shag date anyway. Signed off from the epu, next scan in about 5 weeks. So clearly we're going to pay for on in a couple of weeks as I still feel panicky, but much better.

LexieJean · 11/04/2018 13:11

Oh @limp! Whoop! Everything crossed for you and a sticky bean 🤞

Miserablemouse · 11/04/2018 13:11

Congrats Limp - that is such lovely news. I hope the next few weeks before your next scan go smoothly (and as quickly as possible!)

Bubble I convinced myself I had implantation bleeding last month but I wasn't tracking or using OPKs, so when FP did turn up (while I was weeing on the side of a road after a fairly bad car crash Angry) I opened my app to update it and realised the "implantation bleed" I'd had was before I'd probably ovulated.

Also all the hun talk had me in stitches. Old friend is a MLM Hun who posts constantly all over facebook and insta about her amazing "business" and gorgeous (easily conceived) children. Bitter, me?

Si1ver · 11/04/2018 13:26

Oh @Limp I genuinely have tears in my eyes at the moment. I am so happy for you. Fingers crossed that everything is completely uneventful for the next seven months.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 11/04/2018 13:32

Hiya huns i can smell biscits even tho i have no biscits, am i pregnint? I dtd this morning. Thnx hunni xoxo

SparkwoodAnd21 · 11/04/2018 13:34

Bloody hell Limp! I’m so happy for you!

Paranormalbouquet · 11/04/2018 13:54

@LimpLettice I’m delighted for you! That’s a great sign!

@Bubblegum89 I think symptoms spotting is just what’s we do. I still do it despite having had sex once 5 days before ovulation and not again until 3 days after ovulation. And we used condoms. But still I felt a little nauseous earlier and couldn’t help thinking maybe...

Bubblegum89 · 11/04/2018 14:10

Thank you, ladies. I knew I could count on you lot to give me a shake haha. I have a huge neon flashing sign in my brain that says “TWW SYMPTOMS ARE NOT PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS” but for some reason something is overriding that this cycle. But you’re all right, it means nothing. I’m not going to think twice about it now!

Ooh limp that sounds so positive, I’m so happy for you!
