A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

• Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day

• Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only

• Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

• Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

• Thou shalt not be offended by strong language

• Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams

• Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

• Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

How’s everyone doing/feeling today? I’m hanging so bad after going out on a full day session yesterday. I saw it as possibly my last time for a few months (ha, I wish). We’ve also decided that —when— if my period arrives next week we’re going to book a big holiday for next month ☀️☀️

Fertile window over for me now, minimum shagging happened as DH has been on nights the joy of being an NHS widow, not that it makes any difference anyway! I had a pregnancy bomb this week. Someone I went to school with is pregnant with her fourth, having had the previous 3 taken away by social services. That one was especially sucky. For the child involved but also her status saying that it was ‘clearly meant to be’

Can I join? I’m a long time lurker and been TTC #1 since my MMC in Dec 2016 with no hint of a BFP. Every month I convince myself that every twinge, cramp and flicker means that I’m pregnant but of course I’m not... why is it so bloody hard?! So after 15 months of nothing, I went to see my GP to get some tests done so hopefully that’ll give us some clarity. So far day 21 test done and waiting for results. I hate that TTC has completely taken over my life and it’s all I think at the moment. I even changed dates of a work trip in a few month’s time so that I’m home when I ovulate! Haven’t tried any yams yet but soon ready to try anything LOL

I had to go for second hcg draw this afternoon. Epu closed today so they sent me to gynae. Much more civilised and the sister was great. Levels were 1582 hcg and 63 prog. Significantly higher than last time at what has to be an earlier dpo. I've had quite a bit of nausea the last couple of days which she says is good. So results tomorrow and if they've doubled its another dildocam. I cried on the way out to meet dd and DP coz the bloody woman gave me a little hope which feels precarious. I'll update tomo.

@limp really hope this time it’s a sticky bean. Levels and progesterone sounds good. Dildocam made me laugh. Oh how I don’t miss those.

Have lurked on previous threads but not posted, now decided to crawl out of the woodwork if that’s ok!

Age 30, TTC no 1 since December 2016, cycle 17, no joy, never even a whisper of a line.

Short but not ridiculously short 26 day cycles, bloods - all fine, day 19 progesterone 38, clear LH surge on OPKs, plenty of EWCM, semen analysis all good, dildocam ok too. Haven’t yet had an HSG or HyCoSy, GP did offer to refer back in January but I was kind of hoping it would just happen, said we’d leave it until April which is now fast approaching. Ho Hum.

Everything crossed for Lettice and shared frustration and care for all the yammers.

No FP here yet but my RHR has started dipping so she should arrive in the next few days. Then need to call my "lady doctor" (thats what they are called here, not trying to used a cutesy term, "frauenarzt") and book my next appointment, meh.

God I'm scared yammers. Hcg went from 1582 Friday to 3500 yesterday. Good sign and loads better than last month. Dildocam weds to rule out ectopic. Good vibes please you lovely bunch.

This sounds really positive, HCG is doubling nicely, nice soothing* dildocamming coming. I know you're scared, but try to stay positive.

*I am insisting that all procedures I don't really want are referred to in this manner. My upcoming scratch is referred to as a luxury, soothing treatment.

In-laws have gone, I’ve missed lots of chatter here! I’ve managed to get through countless comments about needing to have more children (really when the age gap is 4 years wouldn’t you consider the possibility of difficulties causing that!). Did crack open the wine at lunchtime yesterday though!

I have a colposcopy tomorrow and another dildocam on Thursday. Since September between colposcopies and ultrasounds I’ve had no less than 14 intimate examinations. I even have a dress I wear for the occasions!

Ha, @Paranormalbouquet I usually wear a dress to the gynae as it means I have to remove less and feel less exposed. Can't even rembember how many dildocams I've had in the last month though so now I couldnt care less 😂 don't even bother shaving my legs for it now haha.

I don’t do any special prep either. Just wear a loose cos dress with leggings underneath so I have to undress a bit less! Restarting 5:2 here today, have gained a lot of weight through comfort eating, need to get it off now.

Well...my weekend was...interesting. My mother-in-law announced to my better half that she was - and I quote "done with me" because I didn't trend a family function on my EDD and I was too quiet with her . She then said that I should have just "gotten on with it and moved on from losing the baby" Needless to say that I won't be in a hurry to talk to her again.

I have my follow up appointment with my GP this afternoon after my PCOS diagnosis, so I'm hoping that something useful is going to come out of that.

@JaggyJobby. In a moment of dumbness, I once wore a dress to an abdominal ultrasound! I felt like naked squared lol.

@Paranormalbouquet. I'm going to start the OMAD diet this week. I've already cut out refined sugar for a week now - A WHOLE WEEK! I feel a bit better for it already.

It must be the time of year for dieting, I’m starting the 16:8 diet to kick start weight loss. And getting back into exercise now the nights are lighter.

Pretty sure we haven’t done enough this month. Managed to have sex twice this weekend and DH has gone away again now until Thursday which is probably too late in my cycle. So onwards to April for us. Feeling ridiculously sad that lots of babies I know born in Jan/Feb will likely be a year old before we have another. And that the babies conceived when we started TTC will be nearly 2. And that’s only if we manage to get pregnant in April.

@MynameisJune. My DH is hurt and I don't blame him. My parents aren't too thrilled about it either. They lost two babies (one at 14 weeks and one at 28 weeks) when I was a little girl so they are no strangers to grief.

I HATE dieting. I know with PCOS though test sugar and being overweight can make it a lot worse so I need to take back some kind of control.

Yeah, I keep thinking, if I'm not pregnant this cycle then there will be no 2018 baby.
