Skip a month to avoid Xmas Bday?

Hi everyone.

DH and I have been TTC since December. If we don't get a BFP this month, I am thinking about skipping March. My period is due 25th Feb which I think could mean a birthday directly around Christmas if we were lucky that month. My Mum has a birthday a couple of days before Christmas and hates it. Is it weird to skip a month for a reason like this??

I could do with losing some weight (I'm 5'3 and 11stone, although only size 10-12, not sure if that's going to cause problems with TTC?) so perhaps I could focus on that for March...

We're both 28, and as I said this is 3rd month TTC.

Its up to you, just remember the baby could be premature so could still be born around christmas. My 2nd was due 1st january and i was wondering if we'd end up with a christmas baby, and he came on the 13th november instead!

I'm a Christmas day baby, my second dc unplanned arrived early on 17th dec. When ttc number 3 we avoided March and april, 8 months later when we still hadn't gotten a bfp I was bitterly regretting it. It took us well over a year to conceive.

It's a really personal decision I think. I love planning things but I think as others have said, you can't plan exactly when baby will be born - baby may be early or late, or you might not conceive when you think you will (on the contrary to some posts on this thread which suggest most women can conceive exactly when they choose - the statistics show that even if you a fertile, under 35, and have no health problems there is only 20% chance of conception each cycle).

When we first started TTC we were aiming for a specific time of year - so it would be more convenient with my work, and to avoid a Christmas birthday. Now, having been trying for some time now I think I wouldn't want to give up a cycle just because EDD would be around a certain date. However I can understand some people might want to try and avoid certain times of year if they are super fertile and really confident in their ability to conceive exactly when they want to.
