Thread numero four-o.

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shall not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if they do so.

Welcome and welcome. We’re all very nice and friendly despite being horrible bitter old cows ☺️

Semen not soluble in water - it's why a uni halls of residence had to post letters telling the blokes not to masturbate in the shower - it was clogging the pipes Confused

NimbleKnitter · 01/02/2018 22:27

Ps Sooz I also had cold uterus. Specifically - stagnation (?). Are you doing castor oil packs? Dunno if that's what did the job, but it didn't half clear up my eczema

WonkyDonk87 · 01/02/2018 22:29

Hahahahaha (boak!) 😂

ronswansonstache · 01/02/2018 22:34

I got a recommendation for this stomach warmer for the cold uterus!

Women Cashmere Waist Warm Winter Elastic Back Stomach Kidney Protector Warmer Band Deep Grey https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073W59774/ref=cmswwrcppapi_wu5CAbN9FFX3E

I think they are for people who get kidney pain, but I might give it a go to warm up my frosty womb...

Bubblegum89 · 01/02/2018 23:15

I’m intrigued by this cold uterus thing. How do you even know if you have one? I’m cold all the time but how am I supposed to know if my womb is shivering in there? Or do you just try stuff and see what happens?

So the way it was explained to me was that the acupuncture during the first half of the cycle is based on invigorating your system - 'waking it up' so it is ready to conceive. For the latter half it is about making your uterus a warm and welcoming place so that any egg that gets fertilised is encouraged to stick around.

I am generally a cold person (hands & feet always freezing) as well so not sure if that is an indication.

Tbh, I think I have just reached the 'try anything' stage. I'm on cycle 22 & it just gets harder so stuff like this is a distraction at least.

Recently I've been trying something different each month (eg a new supplement, preseed, a different app etc) just to make me feel like I can do something. It'll be the bloody tummy warmer next month!

LexieJean · 02/02/2018 07:19

I got told pretty much the same thing as @ronswan so depending on where I am in my cycle I get needles in different places. And I’m trying to keep my feet warm but it’s just impossible- they’re always cold in summer too and it’s only bothering me now because of my cold uterus! 🙄

But I too have reached “try anything” stage. I’m going to keep going with the acupuncture until I can’t afford it any more- my af treats are going to have to get cheaper than shoes!!

Cold uterus 'info'

LexieJean · 02/02/2018 09:25

Oh thanks @nimble
I have many of those symptoms but I’m working on them!

Also symptom spotting in my 2WW (cd21, ov’d cd16): had to run to the train this morning and legs felt v tired, faint period like cramping sensation. Sure this has nothing to do with me being fantastically unfit and must be my body using energy elsewhere to stick a bean 🤦‍♀️ idiot hopeful

Bubblegum89 · 02/02/2018 09:25

I read that last night, I see it’s like a Chinese remedy type thing. I don’t really believe in that kind of stuff but tbh at this stage I’m willing to try anything lol

P.s. nimble how are things going with the pregnancy?

I'm always cold, so I do wonder if this is having an affect on me. I think that means I need to take a long holiday somewhere warm Wink

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 02/02/2018 11:37

Picked up 4 clear blue tests for 4.99 because having nausea because I haven't eaten all morning must mean that I'm miraculously pregnant

LovePinaColada · 02/02/2018 13:03

@LexieJean & @UnicornsandRainbows1 I am always in the TWW spotting EVERYTHING as a sign. It's a nightmare. I tell myself every month not to do it, but I can't help it every time!

Interesting re: cold uterus! Will do some reading - who knew it was even a thing!

So after charting properly this month I'm fairly sure I ovulated which I guess is reassuring! So now another tww commences. I've decided symptom spotting is a mug's game. I was definitely pregnant last month. AF was even late. Except for I wasn't and it turns out my body just hates me.

FairyAnn · 02/02/2018 18:19

Proper hacked off today. Foul mood, radio show the morning talking about pregnancy, then thinking about that stupid Friends episode where Ross and Rachel have one night of sex and 'whoops! Pregnant!'

Angry at the World Day today

RhiBee29 · 02/02/2018 18:25

I hate OPK's!!! Lots of ewcm, ovulation pains, so I hold my wee for 3.5hrs get home POAS and blank...wth? Not even a squinter. CD12, surely there should be some lh to detect?

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 02/02/2018 18:49

@RhiBee29 what day do you normally ovulate? Day 12 is quite early for a + opk unless your cycles are quite short?

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 02/02/2018 18:50

Saying that I have a very faint line all through the month but it only gets darker right before ov.

RhiBee29 · 02/02/2018 19:05

@BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy the last couple of cycles I ovulated on cd14 so thought there'd be something showing up. I was taking vit b complex and epo but have stopped them this cycle in favour of pregnacare conception so not sure if this has made a difference Hmm

My 2 bfp's were on cycles where I didn't get a +opk so maybe it's a good thing?!

Bodies are stupid!!!

kitkatsky · 02/02/2018 19:10

Love the golden rules! On month 7 and AF is just starting. Conceived DD on second month of trying. Now with a different guy and driving myself slightly mad wondering if it’s that I’m older and fatter or if he’s infertile. We’re on limited time as he only wants to try for a year, so I just want to know if it’s going to happen for us or not really. Fed up of all the false hope

Hopingnwishing · 02/02/2018 20:22

@fairyann feel free to be angry.
I cried all the way to and from work yesterday

WonkyDonk87 · 02/02/2018 20:47

Sensitive nips on cd65..... I think I'm ovulating 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

LexieJean · 02/02/2018 21:03

Hooray @wonky!!

MynameisJune · 02/02/2018 21:03

@rhibee pregnacare vitamins pushed my cycles out to 30/31 days when I was taking them.

Other than folic acid I’ve given up all supplements this month. Going to see what my body does when left to it’s own devices. Had EWCM and ovulations pain in CD12 and CD13 so think I’ve ovulated around the normal time as cycles are usually 26 days.
