Hi all,

New to 'MumsNet' so not too sure on how it all works but I was posting to see if anyone on here has experienced the same symptoms as me.... I have tried looking for posts on 'Cerelle' but all of them are really old....

I recently finished my last pack of pills on the 16th Dec. The following day I had a two day bleed and then stopped for 12 days and had another two day bleed, which I was assuming was the withdrawal bleed? But in the mean time I've become SO spotty, my boobs are agony, I'm always bloated and I keep getting heart palpitations. I have come off the pill because I wanted to give myself a break and let my cycle go back to normal before me and my partner start trying for our first baby.

Bearing in mind I have been on this type of pill for 2 years with NO periods I'm worried they aren't going to come back easily....

Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? How long did it take you to get back to normal?

Thanks in advance 😊💁🏻

Hang in there @RebootYourEngine, it may be too early to test still or a sing that in a day or two you'll get your period.

You're getting all the signs that your hormones are working so that's a positive. It's annoyingly a waiting game though. Stay positive sweet.

@TizzyTess thank you for your kind words.

&tizzytess my DP was the same and actually breaks them in half! I’ve thought about temping but I really don’t want to be sucked down another rabbit hole! Still no AF and giving up a bit now

@AllTheGlitter apparently they taste like cod liver oil? Gringlad mine don't lol!

Don't give up hope. There's so many positive stories out there of cycles returning and settling. I am sure yours will too! Just try to stay positive.

I am in limbo at the moment. And waiting to see whenAF decides to turn up again.

@tizzytess ugh! Mine don’t taste like anything luckily! Hopefully you either get a positive or AF very soon! Keep me updated! I’m currently 41 days off the pill and no AF!

Got my period today. Don't know whether to be happy or sad.

@RebootYourEngine I think you are allowed to feel both happy and sad lovely.

You also get to start a fresh cycle and start looking into your ov days and get to know your cycles a little better.

New month, new cycle, exciting times ahead!

@rebootyourengine I think you have a right to feel both! Congrats on getting your AF, that’s the first step. Unfortunately I still have no news! How about you @tizzytess

No news here.
According to flo app I should come on in the next few days so we shall see. Hoping AF turns up as expected then I will have some more info to go off of.

Hi guys I’ve got what I think is EWCM for the first time today! TMI but wiped and thought it was a bit odd and I’m sure it was! Kinda gross but kinda excited that it means I might potentially not be broken! Do I dtd tonight? :)

RLI1105 · 03/03/2019 19:28

@AllTheGlitter Definitely! 😁😁

@RebootYourEngine I agree - you're definitely entitled to feel both. Hopefully it'll be the start of a shorter, smoother cycle for you. 🤞

@TizzyTess Fingers crosses the app is right and then you'll know a bit more where you are.

I'm feeling a bit disheartened today. If the app is right then I should be ovulating tomorrow but I have had no EWCM and all the OPK's I've been taking are negative. I don't feel any increase in sex drive either. The plan was to have one tracked cycle and then TTC actively next month. I keep seeing all the "it can take a year for things to settle" advice and it's so disheartening.... why did I not stop he pill sooner?!

@RLI1105 I know, that’s how I feel! I completely ignored my body when I was on the pill and now just WISH I had come off it sooner or actually paid attention to stuff! I’m sure it won’t take long for you, don’t lose hope Flowers

Thanks for the support. I have my fingers crossed for everyone else.

I have downloaded a period tracker so looking forward to tracking it and finding out what my normal is as it's been so long since I wasn't taking the contraceptive pill.

Hey ladies!

Nothing over here :( what about you?

RLI1105 · 10/03/2019 22:35

@AllTheGlitter Nothing to really report here either! After my last down-in-the-dumps post about getting negative OPK's I did finally get a positive and my temps have stayed high so it looks like I did ovulate. We avoided DTD around that time though. Full steam ahead for next month!

Hello everyone.

Last time I posted on here I was saying that my partner had been told it was possible he could have issues with fertility due to childhood chemo. In my head I was convinced he was infertile.

Well he went to the doctor and was being referred to the nearest sperm clinic on the nhs 2.5 hours away.

I had my first period on 5th February and on Monday 11th March I still hadn't had another one. I did a pregnancy test just by chance and I couldn't believe it a faint line appeared. 6 different tests later throughout the day I had several positive pregnancy tests. I'm either 3 weeks or 5 weeks (as I don't know how long my cycle is) and now playing a waiting game. It was the biggest surprise ever and I spent most of Monday shaking.

the next few weeks is a long road ahead and trying to not get too excited, just reminding myself that whatever happens this time around at least we know we can get pregnant which is a blessing in itself.

Thank you to everyone for your support on this thread over the last few months and good luck to everyone xx

Just a quick update cycle wise!
When I was thinking of stopping the pill I scoured the internet trying to read everyone's experiences so I'm just posting in case anyone else out there is doing that and finds it informative!
AF came again today so I have now had a full tracked cycle.

I stopped taking Cerelle (mini pill) on December 30th after 7 years on contraception (implant and pill at different points)
Withdrawal bleed 15th January
First period 15th February which lasted 5 days.
Positive OPK cycle day 18, temp rise cycle day 20 and then AF today.
My last cycle was 31 days and this one is 29.
Note: we were not TTC this month. The plan is to try and actively TTC this cycle. 😊

thank you Rebootyourengine

Unfortunately things haven't worked out as I'd hoped.

My early reassurance scan at what is assumed to be 6 weeks showed a pregnancy that is looking non viable. I will be getting this confirmed in a few days time. The only glimmer of hope is that it might just have been too early because I don't have a cycle length to go by.

however an additional issue in my situation is the sac is irregular in shape another reason for suggesting its non viable.

I have been told to prepare for the worst and expect to be admitted to a early pregnancy unit to begin the process for a miscarriage via medical management.

I will then have to wait for a period after the miscarriage process stops then begin my TTC journey all over again.

I think the more periods you have the more likely you know your cycle length and can really help with dating a pregnancy especially in those early weeks. If i has my time again I would have come of cerelle earlier and waited a few months to get my cycle back.

Wishing everyone lots of luck in their TTC journey.

Hello all,

Mind if I join the conversation? Have been following this thread. What stage is everyone at now?
I came off cerelle 12th March. No AF yet. I really want to try for a baby but my OH doesn’t want to start trying till after our holiday in June.
Thought I could wait and give me time to track my cycles before then but the time just seems to be going by so slowly. Think I’ve realised how much I want this.

Report
RLI1105 · 03/04/2019 09:54

@Louxo Hello! Smile I think tracking your cycles until June is probably a good idea - you'll know when the best time of the month to start trying then! I know how you feel though! I was desperate to start straight away but my fiancé talked me into waiting until we were closer to the wedding... it's given me the chance to get my cycles properly tracked though. This was our first month TTC (I'm only 1dpo!)
I came off the pill on 30th December. I had a withdrawal bleed two weeks later and then my first period a month later. I've been regularly since then and confirming ovulation with temps and OPK's. Good luck!
