Coming off Cerelle

Hi all,

New to 'MumsNet' so not too sure on how it all works but I was posting to see if anyone on here has experienced the same symptoms as me.... I have tried looking for posts on 'Cerelle' but all of them are really old....

I recently finished my last pack of pills on the 16th Dec. The following day I had a two day bleed and then stopped for 12 days and had another two day bleed, which I was assuming was the withdrawal bleed? But in the mean time I've become SO spotty, my boobs are agony, I'm always bloated and I keep getting heart palpitations. I have come off the pill because I wanted to give myself a break and let my cycle go back to normal before me and my partner start trying for our first baby.

Bearing in mind I have been on this type of pill for 2 years with NO periods I'm worried they aren't going to come back easily....

Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? How long did it take you to get back to normal?

Thanks in advance 😊💁🏻

Thank you. My right boob is just so painful and got period pains and chronic migraines. I haven’t had good experiences with any form of birth control but this has been the worst. Will see what I’m like in a week or 2 then might ring my doctors x

Hello, new on here and first comment.
I'm 35 and married (2yrs in May).
I came off Cerelle after a couple of years on it in January 2024, got similar symptoms already mentioned such as the painful cramps and sore breasts.
Periods are like clockwork now since end of February/beginning of March and pretty much know when I'm ovulating (I get cramps).
TTC at the moment but nothing though I've read in an earlier post it can take a year to actually be right again after coming off Cerelle.
It seems ladies vary from getting pregnant pretty quickly and taking years to conceive, I know 1 couple that gave up TTC after 10yrs!
I know 1 couple who did IVF and that seems to have worked for them, I'm told its free on the NHS but not if you've had your first child and you're having another. I've heard of people having seregacies abroad. I suppose you can adopt too though not known anyone personally to know what that process is like.
Not really asking for advice at the moment, just hoping to make a helpful, insightful comment on what I've picked up so far 😊

Hi,
I stopped my cerelle 6 days ago, and I've not had any bleeding yet. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this before?
I'm just wondering as me and my partner were Intimate 7 days ago and I'm unsure if this is to do with it

It’s been a couple of years since I came off cerelle, but my cycle came back pretty immediately (as in bleeding approx 30 days after last pill).
