First Response Rapid Response evaporation lines

I took a First Response Rapid Response four days before my period was due yesterday and got a slightly coloured line that got darker after the ten minutes. Convinced myself it was an evaporation line.

Tested again this morning with FMU. Thought it was a BFN. Went to put on clean pyjamas, cake back 2-3 minutes later and there’s a very faint line. Barely a squinter in regular light but a definite line when you shine a light through the back of the window.

How common are evaporation lines on these tests? Would an evaporation line show up within 4-5 minutes? It’s a bit grey but definitely light pink with a light on it.

I’m planning on retesting Thursday but I’ve heard FR tests don’t show evaporation lines so I really want to have hope but I’m new to this.

I thought the rapid response ones were o Lt to be used on day of missed period? The 6 day sooner ones can be used before period is due. Not sure if this would make a difference x

MonaTheMoaner · 24/12/2017 11:04

I picked up the wrong ones and realised after I POAS. I blame the Christmas stress.

The FRER can be used super early. OP do you have a picture?

Rainbowsandflowers78 · 24/12/2017 22:52

Oh you sound pregnant Smile

Sunshinesaz86 · 25/12/2017 09:53

I got a bfp 3 days before AF due and very obvious line and that was a standard FR x

MonaTheMoaner · 25/12/2017 10:55

This was the line on the FRER I took after. It’s faint but definitely pink! Due AF Wednesday/Thursday so I’m hoping to test again tomorrow or Wednesday and see if the line has darkened.

The first one is unedited. This one I’ve lowered the exposure and upped the clarity.

That’s what my very own squinter looked like on Christmas Day 2015. She was born in September 2016 and is currently a very excitable 15 month old, opening presents and sqwarking at the teletubbies!

Congratulations!

CL1982 · 25/12/2017 15:20

That's a positive!!

Mrsjones17 · 25/12/2017 15:27

I have a rapid response one? Do you reckon it would show tomorrow? I'll be 12dpo??!;

CL1982 · 25/12/2017 15:35

@Mrsjones17 do it!! Use FMU though and don't drink too much the night before.

Mummyh2016 · 25/12/2017 15:39

OP mine was as faint as that last year. I’ve got my 6 month old having a cuddle atmSmile congratulations!

MonaTheMoaner · 25/12/2017 17:57

Thank you all! I’m so excited! I’m going to take another FRER tomorrow to make sure the line has darkened as I’m a worrier with a past chemical pregnancy but I’m so looking forward to the worries over the next few weeks until I can book in for an early viability scan!

dingdongdigeridoo · 25/12/2017 20:08

Congrats! I wouldn’t say that’s evap. It’s within 10 mins and nice and pink.

You will be due same day as me, so I’ll see you on the pregnancy board.

MonaTheMoaner · 26/12/2017 11:01

Definitely a BFP. Just took another FRER this morning and the line is in your face now a day/two days before AF is due.

See you there DingDong! 6th September?

Hi everyone!
How is it going? I'm now on here and have a virtually invisible line but still a line. I'm 10dpo
Just couldn't wait any longer. Af due Sunday.
Just used first response 6day early test.
I'm so pleased to see the above. Trying not to get too excited but my uterus has been aching and mildly cramping for days!

CL1982 · 10/01/2018 21:34

Congrats OP!

@Wishful30 Evaps on these tests are virtually unheard of so I'd say you have a preggo eggo :) I got a BFP at 7DPO with a FRER.

Wishful30 · 10/01/2018 21:46

😱🤩 OMG I don't know if I'm excited or scared lol both!!
Looks like i just pray it's not chemical and hope af doesn't rest her ugly head!!
Be buying some more test over the weekend then Grin

CL1982 · 10/01/2018 22:19

I'd test again at 12dpo with a FRER again using FMU. I think you'll have a decent line.

Wishful30 · 10/01/2018 22:24

Really hope so!!
Got some serious cramps and a teeny bit of spotting right now 😐
Af not due for 3/4 days yet and I'm not usually early.
Ugh well this is not a torment....!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Wishful30 · 11/01/2018 07:56

Ugh, I used the other test this morning as cramping got worse and slight brown discharge (sorry tmi) pretty sure af is coming and the test today showed nothing Sad

MrsD2017 · 11/01/2018 20:15

Can someone tell me the Abbv?
Frer? I'm guessing first response early.....?

Tia xx
