Welcome all anti-fertile fuckers! This is our clique for those trying longer than 6 cycles and are pretty fed up.

Here are our Fucked Off TTC Commandments

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to other when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

Our spreadsheet which includes what supplements (and potatoes) we are trying in our journey to motherhood.

@RhiBee29 is it specific fertility reflexology? I've been umming & ahhing over some but that sounds really positive

NimbleKnitter · 03/11/2017 19:00

Nah, totally understandable bubblegum. But better you know - otherwise it’s just shit shagging for no good reason

RhiBee29 · 03/11/2017 20:02

@Tiredofbeingsotired no just general reflexology, it’s really good for correcting hormonal imbalances and reducing cortisol. Very relaxing too. I think it’s amazing!

Si1ver · 03/11/2017 20:51

Oh Jesus, I just actually ate yams. Someone just shoot me now.

Tiredofbeingsotired · 03/11/2017 21:10

@Si1ver I'll join you - we had sweet potato chips for tea 😳

RhiBee29 · 03/11/2017 21:41

I had sweet potato curry with spinach 😱

Si1ver · 03/11/2017 21:50

We're all dooooooooomed

hellybellyjellybean · 03/11/2017 23:03

Summer1986 · 04/11/2017 07:37

Congratulations LimpLettice stunning ring!

Anatidae · 04/11/2017 07:40

No clinical evidence for reflexology. 👩🏻‍🔬

micropig · 04/11/2017 08:59

Congrats @LimpLettice !!! So happy for you 😁😁

DoAsDreamersDo · 04/11/2017 10:35

Everyone's eating yams and I'm eating Haribo for breakfast Grin

QuietTime · 04/11/2017 10:52

Wow - congrats lettuce, that's lovely & what a sweet reaction from your daughter! So nice to see some good news here

bubblegum I think you might be me, down to the slightly raised prolactin. GP said make an appointment to see about 'a referral' but it was a bit vague...my job for Monday too...

What is all this yam-eating? Put the yams down, guys...

Re clinical evidence, did you see that article on the criticism of Irish clinics offering that 'natural killer' cell blood test thing ('discredited' apparently) - so frustrating how many mixed messages there are over treatment and testing.

Bubblegum89 · 04/11/2017 11:06

quiettime I’m getting quite anxious now because I know for definite the problem must be me and I want to know what it is but also know the NHS referral waiting lists are pants. I waited 2 months for a follow-up US earlier this year. Did your dr redo your bloods to check your prolactin level? Mine said she wanted to do that, got a feeling she’s going to say THAT is the next step thus delaying everything even further. How far in to ttc are you now?

Also guys, wtf are yams??

NimbleKnitter · 04/11/2017 11:15

Slightly raised prolactin is not that big a deal - it can be down to what time you last ate before the test.

The main reason prolactin is an issue is because it stops ovulation - if you’re ovulating, it’s not a problem

Bubblegum89 · 04/11/2017 11:32

Yeah my dr said she wasn’t concerned as it could be down to anything like dehydration or stress. She still wants to check it again though even though my other tests came back to say I’m ovulating. I don’t know if she’s going to say that she will refer me for some kind of HSG or lap and dye and she will check my prolactin again in the meantime or if she will want bloods first then give a referral once the results are back. I’m hoping it’s the former, I hate all of this waiting!

NimbleKnitter · 04/11/2017 11:38

Yeah, it’s almost a bugger you don’t have a cyst, because then you could just ask for a lap!

This is my plan once I hit the 12 months - ask for the lap to remove the cyst and see if they’ll have a look around whilst they’re in there.

Maybe just ask for one?

NimbleKnitter · 04/11/2017 11:41

In the meantime, I’m having abdominal massage and castor oil packs, which can allegedly break up adhesions and help clear tubes.

I’m pretty sure I don’t have endo (no pain, v light periods) and have nothing to lose by trying it

LimpLettice · 04/11/2017 13:28

Hello, lovely yammers! Many thanks for the words, much appreciated. MrLettice (better not call him MrLimp 😂) pulled out all the stops, with roses, champagne, strawberries and a wonderful location. I loves him Smile

Ttc, otoh, I do not love. Poas yesterday and today. Nuffink. The watery bleed Thursday was a one off. None of my usual spotty cm. I have sore boobs still, and have been horribly constipated for days (champagne and Thai food finally fixed that, sorry tmi) but stark bfn. I’m only 11dpo I think, and used smu this morn on cheap one step. Fuck only knows. Think I’d be due tomo or Monday.

Bubblegum I worry about raised prolactin too. I still after 4 years leak milk a lot and have had a few possibly thyroid / borderline issues, but nothing conclusive. Must sort out the gp.

Funkyemzie · 04/11/2017 15:31

Afternoon everyone! Would it be possible to join this? Im 6th cycle ttc 36 years young and vitamins etc are like a foreign language to me. I'm currently taking...nothing! I actually don't know where to start.

Started just tracking on my calendar but use an app called ovia since August. I'm in my last day of high fertility but i've never had a single positive ovulation test in 6 months. One month i tested everyday but thats a different story.

Thank guys and good luck dust to everyone. Xxx

QuietTime · 04/11/2017 16:14

Am on cycle 13 bubblegum and about a year in (short-ish cycles) - so will check in with GP. Main thresholds for referral are trying for a year and me upping my BMI (think have managed that with eating this holiday...), apparently. She didn't say they'd test again for prolactin, but suspect bloods will be repeated at some point based on other people's experience...

Also based on others' experience, the SA test for guys isn't foolproof, so there may be things revealed further into investigations - not that I want that to be the case or anything, was just quite illuminating how limited some of the testing can be (not to bang on about it...you can see where my head's been at recently TTC-wise Smile). Really sympathise if you feel like something's up with your health, though - so frustrating to have to jump through the right hoops to get it checked

Bubblegum89 · 04/11/2017 17:45

Aw limp that sounds so lovely! I told my OH that I don’t even care if his proposal is just a ring shoved inside a Big Mac, I’m so tired of waiting haha my thyroid is okay apparently, I didn’t even know what prolactin was. Didn’t realise it can cause your boobs to leak!

quiettime yeah I’m on cycle 12 now and honestly don’t see me getting pregnant any time soon. I’ve told my OH to go and speak to his dr directly (he only got his results off the receptionist) to get a bit more insight on the results and make sure they were “normal”. I was referred a little earlier for tests on account of them thinking I may have scar tissue then thinking I didn’t and then me complaining that I had all the symptoms of scar tissue (short, light periods and infertility) and it can get worse with time so didn’t want to end up leaving it for ages. I started fertility tests about cycle 10 so I was lucky in that sense. I’m hoping I’m not going to get to this time next year and still not know what’s going on! Is your gp usually fairly good? I know some tend to need a good push sometimes lol

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 06/11/2017 10:57

How's everyone been doing? Any news on the af front limp as I think we are both due on today?

I'm just waitinv.... not tested since Friday as I used a frer I'm pretty sure I am out.

Saw a gorgeous baby yesterday at a friend's house which did not help my broodiness Sad

LimpLettice · 06/11/2017 11:46

Popped in to ask you the same question Mama!

13dpo today. I think - again, not 100% on ov day but defo CD29, usually 28. This is my longest cycle sinc the m/c. No spotting or cramps since watery bleed thursday. I always spot for 3 days before so a little confused. Boobs still sore, headaches for days, but bfn this morning on a cheapie. I thought I saw a ghost line to start with but went back 10 mins later and defo just white. And the thought of it being bfp after the amazing weekend I have just had - well it is never going to happen, is it?

How is everyone else? I feel like I haven't seen Juney around for ages?
