Welcome all anti-fertile fuckers! This is our clique for those trying longer than 6 cycles and are pretty fed up.

Here are our Fucked Off TTC Commandments

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to other when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

Our spreadsheet which includes what supplements (and potatoes) we are trying in our journey to motherhood.

@Bubblegum89 I had recurrent cystitis for a few months - like you in the second half of the 2WW.

A couple of things helped me. Basically I HAVE to pee after sex or I get cystitis - but I can't when TTC cos I want to leave the sperm in there. I read somewhere that using Conceive Plus or other sperm friendly lubricant can help because it puts a layer of gel over the entrance to your urethra to stop any germs getting in. Also (TMI alert) we have a tendency to rub his penis on me and use it to ahem stimulate me a bit on the clitoris. We stopped doing that on the 2WW as it can spread germs.

Fine to do those things rest of time when can pee afterwards.

Not sure if that will help or not but hope so!

Janefx40 · 25/10/2017 13:09

Sorry I mean we stopped doing that during fertile week

RhiBee29 · 25/10/2017 13:53

Since my mc in June I’m ovulating on cd 18 or 19 making the luteal phase 9/10 days. Prior to mc I ovulated on cd 14 every cycle. I’ve been reading up on Agnus Castus, has anyone used it?

Unicornberry · 25/10/2017 14:13

@rhibee I've used it before, I'm thinking of taking it again. It is supposedly a galactagogue but in theory could also inhibit milk production and I'm breastfeeding so don't want to lose my supply however I don't know anyone who's had any supply reduction so I might try it again.

Bubblegum89 · 25/10/2017 15:51

Thanks ladies RE the recurrent cystisis. I’ve been to the drs a million times lol they give me antibiotics and then when none of them work they just say that it’s not an infection so they can’t give me anything. I always pee straight after sex even during fertile week because my bf doesn’t have any sperm mobility issues so I don’t need to lie with my legs up. I drink my own weight in water every day, it’s a nightmare! I’ve not tried d-mannose, is it good? I use the sachets from the supermarket which help with the symptoms but obviously they just mask the issue. Sometimes I can go months without it and then I just get it for a whole week at time, usually in the morning.

My partner dropped his sample off at the hospital today and he said it was the worst experience of his life lol he said “do you know how difficult it is to jizz into a pot? As soon as I took the lid off, it turned me right off” haha. How long do results usually take and do the drs ring you or do you need to call them?

LimpLettice · 25/10/2017 16:06

Ah, the wonder of chronic cystitis. Funnily enough I suffer a lot less these days, but used to have terribly painful water infections. My go to is bottled potassium citrate from Boots. Foul stuff but better and faster than the sachets and seem to help the cause as well as the symptoms. A female gp told me it wasn’t recurrent, it just wasn’t fully clearing, so put me on longer antibiotics for about 21 days and no Sex for a couple of weeks together with the citrate, and since then touch wood I’ve kicked it.

LimpLettice · 25/10/2017 16:06

No idea why the capital Sex!

LexieJean · 25/10/2017 16:15

@bubblegum my OH got a letter with results after his fun time with the plastic cup! I think he also called the doc after a week to chat about results. Letter took about 2-3 weeks.

LovePinaColada · 25/10/2017 16:48

Guess it's all about SEX after all @LimpLettice!

LimpLettice · 25/10/2017 17:05

Hahahahahaha. Feels like it at the moment 😜

juneybean · 25/10/2017 17:06

Pretty sure we don't lie with our legs in the air due to sperm mobility issues Hmm

LovePinaColada · 25/10/2017 17:28

I actually keep forgetting to do that this cycle - but I try to lay down for aaaages with a pillow under me! Oh so glam!

justmeonly · 25/10/2017 17:34

@Bubblegum My recurring cystitis/uni is always triggered by sex [no autocorrect capital here...?]. (As in nothing else causes it, not that I get one every single time). To balance ttc (i.e. keep some in to give it the best chance - apologies for tmi) and avoiding another infection I do a 5-10min wait before peeing. It's just so sexy/romantic! ConfusedShock

I also take cranberry extract supplements daily (I know the evidence is mixed). It's just such a pain (literally and figuratively) to be susceptible to utis.

Wow. Today apparently I have a thing for brackets. Apologies to those reading this!

Janefx40 · 25/10/2017 17:54

Actually the conceive plus has made more difference to that than legs in the air. An unexpected result. Whereas it all used to rush out as soon as I stood up or went to the loo, using even a small amount of conceive plus seems to keep it up me...no idea why

X

Mrsjones17 · 25/10/2017 17:56

@jane yes think your right although they haven't been together that long. Ah well what can I do about it - naff all.

For those struggling with cystitis have you heard of multigyn gel. Doctor told me it was safe to use when TTC. It helps to keep the pH balanced down there. Maybe worth a go?

RhiBee29 · 25/10/2017 18:27

Thanks @Unicornberry, I’m reading conflicting advice on it! I’ve heard it can lengthen the luteal phase but that you should only take it before ovulation not after. It’s so confusing!

Justwaitingforaline · 25/10/2017 18:33

I’m chugging prosecco. I failed my driving test again today. I’m also overwhelmingly sad about ttc today, it’s just feeling really fucking unfair.

RhiBee29 · 25/10/2017 18:37

@Justwaitingforaline sorry about the test, get yourself some chocolate to go with the prosecco x

LovePinaColada · 25/10/2017 18:59

Don't worry @Justwaitingforaline - all the best people fail first time! Good luck for next time! But for now - enjoy Prosecco!!

juneybean · 25/10/2017 19:09

Ah sorry just :( it took me four tests haha enjoy your prosecco!

OP posts:
Mrsjones17 · 25/10/2017 19:14

@just ah enjoy the prosseco! Took me three attempts haha!

The shitter about TTC is that while you're all consumed with that it makes everything else seem so much more shit too. The things that maybe you would take in your stride suddenly become a much bigger deal for example you with your driving test me with DH being deployed, throw away comments you would normally brush off etc. I hate the fact that I feel like it consumes my fucking life at times!!

Bubblegum89 · 25/10/2017 19:24

limplettuce capital sex lol last time I had it really bad, 3 lots of antibiotics hadn’t worked, the dr tried to make out like I was lying because she couldn’t find any sign of infection. Not seen the drink, I’ll keep an eye out. The sachets are vile and make me want to throw up.

justme I do think sex is what triggers it most of the time. I might just become celibate Grin a dr once said that it might be to do with having an abnormally short urethra but I don’t know how true that is.

lexie oh that’s not too bad then! I think they said they’d call within a week but our local gp isn’t reknown for hurrying things lol

juneybean sorry if that came across as offensive! My gp told me lying with your legs in the air isn’t necessary unless there is a sperm mobility issue but I dunno, I just don’t do it on account of being too scared of getting a really bad uti. I don’t profess to be an expert haha

Bubblegum89 · 25/10/2017 19:25

Aw justwaiting sorry to hear you failed! I failed four times and gave up. I’m a danger to pedestrians and other drivers so I decided it was best to stop. Good luck for next time!

Justwaitingforaline · 25/10/2017 19:36

Bubblegum id love it if that were an option here but we live very rurally and we don’t even have pavements, let along public transport. I can’t go to the shop to get milk unless I get the pushbike out....

Mrs totally get what you’re talking about. I am so sodding sensitive all the time. I shed a tear today because there was a newborn in the same lift as me screaming while it’s mum proceeded to roll a fag over it.

Mrsjones17 · 25/10/2017 19:47

@just rolling and fag over it?? Really?! Best she got pregnant first fucking time too! Agh!
