Hi guys, been reading loads of threads over the past few days. I am now 2dpo on my first cycle of ttc #1. I've created this thread to see if anyone had any success In conceiving in the first month or so. Really trying not to be crazy or obsessive but this is all new to me! I came off the pill last month so I know there's an unlikely chance of getting pregnant due to hormones. But if anyone has any comments, feel free to share!
Flowers Good luck to everyone xx

@BandhaAid
I am sure I too will prob take a few months for my cycles to get back to normal. I had only been on the pill for 2 years, so am not sure it that will make a difference in how fast my cycles go back to normal. Such a waiting game lol

Yep, my son was conceived in our first mobth of trying. A few months beforehand, I was fretting thinking I'd have trouble getting pregnant and would need IVF!

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 15/10/2017 20:43

Ds was first cycle aged 36 (almost 37).
Currently pregnant again at 40, 5 cycles of sort of trying, 1st cycle of tracking ovulation and based on that cycle, we quite possibly screwed up the previous 5.

I come from a fairly fertile family (mostly Catholic so we know most of the previous generations were still having babies well into their late 40s) and we seem to have got really lucky, just really hoping that this one stays put.

3 pregnancies (2 babies) all one night wonders....DH thinks he's the mutts nuts! Clearly he was the only one involved 🙄

Tilapia · 15/10/2017 20:48

Third cycle for DC1, first cycle for DC2 and DC3. Good luck OP!

I've had 4 pregnancies but only one child but each time I fell pregnant first time and that was just coming off the pill so it can and does happen.

I'm not having as much luck second time around ttc #2 unfortunately:(

AnxietyStrikes · 15/10/2017 20:51

We conceived the first month after only Having sex one time.

I had been tracking my cycle and was convinced that we weren't pregnant because we'd only had sex once due to work and things getting in the way.

But lo and behold we know have a 3.5 no
Dd

4yoniD · 15/10/2017 20:54

Dc1 1.25 years
Dc2 2 consecutive nights. Rather a shock.

Rheged · 15/10/2017 20:56

I conceived immediately with DC2.

MamaOfTwos · 15/10/2017 20:59

DD first month
Currently pg with DC2 who was a surprise after a one hit wonder

xyzandabc · 15/10/2017 21:00

3 times here. 1st time not actively planned, just 1 night with no protection. No. 2 and 3 were planned but again 1 night wonders.
We are v v careful now!

pinkhorse · 15/10/2017 21:01

Ds was conceived the first month

Gem173 · 15/10/2017 21:03

I'm glad it can happen after one month! Even if it was a one hit wonder! Wondering what will be in store for me this week, I lift heavy boxes at work (pharmacy) and am really worried it could effect contraception? Don't really want anyone at work to know in case I become pregnant and lose it. Does anyone know of any solution?

4 pregnancies (2 miscarriages) and all were conceived in the first month.

Good luck!

NukaColaGirl · 15/10/2017 21:12

All 7 took 1 cycle. Blush

I miscarried 3.

18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 27, 28 were my ages.

Don't seem to have an issue getting pregnant but staying pregnant seems to be an issue for me.

DramaAlpaca · 15/10/2017 21:13

I was pretty much the same as a poster above, it took almost a year to get DC1, but I conceived DC2 first time of trying even though I was still breastfeeding DC1. That was a bit of a surprise.

caledonianclown · 15/10/2017 21:14

DD was conceived first month, DH had to have IVF with his XW to conceive their DS so we really weren’t expecting anything, was a bit gobsmacked it happened at all never mind so quickly!

SammySays · 15/10/2017 21:14

I have a success story! Husband and I decided to start trying so came off the pill (had been on for 10yrs and it stopped my periods completely as it was a no break pill so expected a difficult time). I waited one month until I had a period and we started trying. 2 weeks later I ovulated so we did the deed every other day over the course of a week and conceived ☺ our perfect little girl is now 2years old. We were so lucky. Good luck to everyone trying x

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 15/10/2017 21:23

Ds1+2 both conceived first month of trying. Never tracked ovulation, just dtd pretty much every day that month.

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 15/10/2017 21:25

DD conceived within 2 weeks of having the implant out. We weren't even having loads of sex. We were going to start trying properly when my period came back so I could track it.

Pastaagain78 · 15/10/2017 21:28

DS1 4 months, DS2 1 month, DS3 2 months

Earslaps · 15/10/2017 21:38

First month of trying with DS1. Was a bit of a shock when I got a bfp!

A week or so before I did the test I had crampy pains, which I thought was my period coming, so I had a very rare steak and a large carafe of wine thinking it was fine as not pregnant. Must have been implantation pains though. Stupidly I did exactly the same thing when I got pregnant with ds2!

He took two months of trying, but I think that was only because we were on holiday and that messed up my cycle, so we weren’t trying at the right time.

capercaillie · 15/10/2017 21:41

Both mine were conceived in 1st month!

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 15/10/2017 21:58

Yes, my first was a happy oops and my third was another 1st trier much to my husbands dismay as he was hoping for several months of sex. I go right off it when pregnant!

Gem173 · 15/10/2017 22:47

Well let's hope the next few months are full of luck. Will keep everyone posted xx
