Just that really.
Me and my partner are trying to conceive our first child together.
I have two children aged 10 and 8 and he has a daughter who is 9. We all live together and are very happy so this would be the perfect thing to complete our family.
We have been trying since May.

Pregnancy number 1 took us 2.5 years. Ended in MC.
Pregnancy number 2 took us 1 month!

CaptainsCat · 25/09/2017 16:45

First pregnancy - unplanned

Second pregnancy - cycle 2

JustSaying99 · 25/09/2017 16:51

DC1 - 1st cycle (and 26)

Lilypad15 · 25/09/2017 16:59

DD- 2 months from previous relationship
DC- 3 months with current partner (had to terminate though sadly)
Currently on month 11 of ttc now. Starting to get real bored now

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 25/09/2017 18:00

Dd1- cycle 1 (age 20)
Dd2-cycle 1 (age 22)
Ds-cycle 1 (age 25)

I'm very grateful that we've conceived our children so quickly but don't think that's the norm for everyone. I think the average is 6 months, though not entirely sure but I think its not until 12 months in that its classed as a 'long' wait. Wish you all the luck in the world, I know each week can feel like a month when TTC

2good · 25/09/2017 18:06

Age 36:
First preg, 7 cycles, then lost to mc
Second preg, 4 cycles.. just found out recently

cakesandphotos · 25/09/2017 18:08

18 cycles Sad started at 26 and I’m now 19 weeks pregnant at 28 Smile Dr said some people just take longer for no apparent reason

tried20names · 25/09/2017 18:10

DS - 1st cycle age 31
Now 20 weeks pregnant after 12 cycles at 34.
I naively thought 2nd time would be as easy as the first so was in for a shock when it took so much longer!

Mumof3cheeky · 25/09/2017 18:24

Ds1 6 month
Ds2 6 month
Dc3 1st month ended up being mmc then conceived the following month with ds3

IWouldLikeToKnow · 25/09/2017 18:30

Both times it took about 6 months...at age 38 ( ended in MC) and then again at 39

Mumof3cheeky · 25/09/2017 18:39

I read somewhere that the statistic shows that those who get or got pregnant very quickly have higher rate of mc. Not sure if it's linked to the fact that the bit in the human body that responsible of selecting what egg is viable or not doesn't work that well. Not sure if any of this is accurate at all tho

strangestdirection · 25/09/2017 18:40

Baby 1: 8 months (aged 27)
Baby 2: 1st month of trying (aged 30)

Mumof3cheeky · 25/09/2017 18:41

Sorry it was very clear so what I mean to explain by that was that perhaps not viable eggs or embrio still gets through fertilised but doesn't survive hence the mc
If that makes sense?!

Tilapia · 25/09/2017 18:47

DC1 - 3rd cycle
DC2 and DC3 - 1st cycle

I was aged 30-34. I realise I was v lucky.

Rainbowblume · 25/09/2017 18:48

3 years, but then I miscarried so just over 5 years to get to a healthy baby.

HannahLily2014 · 25/09/2017 19:01

Dd1 - not planned (aged18)
Dd2 -cycle 2 (aged 23)
DS1 - cycle 1 (aged 28)

Caspiana · 25/09/2017 20:28

I've recently found out I'm pregnant with our first and it was cycle 4. I've just turned 34.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 25/09/2017 21:05

1st pg, unplanned, MC
2nd pg, 1st cycle trying, DC1
3rd pg, 1st cycle trying, MC
4th pg, 3 months later, MC
5th pg, next month, DS
6th pg, 1st cycle trying, only 10 weeks so far but had 2 good scans so fingers crossed for DC3.

I think the miscarriage theory mumof3 mentioned applies to me/us. Fall pregnant so easily but struggle to get an actual baby at the end of it.

tinypop4 · 26/09/2017 15:00

Dc 1 was a surprise and a contraception fail.
Dc2 took 5 months including a miscarriage.
Good luck ttc Flowers

Greggers2017 · 17/12/2017 09:39

Still no luck here 3 months later Sad

1st baby 10 cycles at 32 years old. Sometimes it takes longer than you think!

babyinthacorner · 17/12/2017 11:54

#1 - first cycle aged 31

#2 - 7th cycle aged 35

Had copper coil before both pregnancies, so no hormonal contraception involved.

Good luck!

juneybean · 17/12/2017 13:39

God this thread is depressing. So many on the first cycle.

Cycle 13 and counting here op

SpongeCake23 · 17/12/2017 14:42

Cycle 5 and still trying

MJordan · 17/12/2017 15:32

Currently TTC baby number 1 - month 5.. extremely hard on the emotions and nice to hear other people's stories!
Haven't had a period now since 21st October. Doctor not helpful, told me I wasn't trying long enough and didn't seem to think it was strange that my period all of a sudden stopped in October.
Currently in limbo - can I conceive right now with no period, no CM, no positive ovulation test and no clue of what's going on!?
3x negative pregnancy tests and blood tests done to check thyroid all came back fine.

Anyone else ever experience this!?
Been regular all year with my period! AngrySad
