Hi, I'm 38 and trying ttc with my partner of 5years! I've got 3 kids from a previous relationship and didn't have any trouble conceiving then. Just a little worried it may be harder this time! I'd love to hear success stories please? Smile

Me! I'm 38 and ttc #4. I'm only on cycle 2 though so can't give you any success stories though. I would love to hear them.

I didn't have any problems with my others but the youngest is now 6 so it was a little while ago.

Anatidae · 28/08/2017 16:33

38 and ttc our second.

Unfortunately have just had a miscarriage but such is life.

The idea that fertility goes off a cliff at 35 is based on very old and not very relevant data, by the way.

zaraaubrie · 28/08/2017 16:42

I'm 36 and just found out today that I am pregnant. It was our second month trying.
Very early stages for me as I used a first response test and not due my period until Thurs/Fri.
My child was conceived when I was 33 and I got pregnant first time then.

Armygirl · 28/08/2017 16:44

Everythingnow my youngest is 6 too 😊 I came off my pill 5 weeks ago and haven't had a bleed yet so I've no idea when or if I'm ovulating! Just need to be patient I guess but I'm not very lol.

Anatidae I'm sorry to hear about your recent miscarriage :-(
I'm hoping that data is wrong, I def don't feel to old Smile

Me! Am nearly 38 and ttc #3, dc aged 7 and 4 both conceived within 6 months plus another that I miscarried. Used clear blue fertility monitor both times and only had one ovary when conceived dc2.

Fingers crossed for us all!

Lndnmummy · 28/08/2017 18:27

Hi, I am 39 and ttc number 2, I have a son who is 5 1/2. He was conceived first month of trying but things are not so quick this time around.

EmmaJR1 · 28/08/2017 19:03

Hello, I'm 38 and conceived last August by mistake... 😂 just as well we were planning on starting soon! My point is age doesn't always mean difficulty- good luck!

Armygirl · 28/08/2017 20:36

The additional problem I have is my oh is in the army and we live apart. Ttc is not going to be easy lol

Those of us ttc I thought we could say where we are in our cycles so we can support eachother!
This is my first cycle and I'm cd37 after stopping the mini pill. Tested with Tesco PT yesterday but negative.
What about the rest of you?

I'm 38 and ttc#2. Have a dd who's nearly 3. Took us over 3 years to conceive her. Started ttc again January 2016 and fell pregnant quickly but had a MMC. Then fell again quickly but had to have a tfmr. It's now been 10 months with nothing.

Recent tests have shown I might not be ovulating so we're off for a private consultation with a fertility clinic in the next few weeks.

I definitely feel the pressure of my age but at the same time it's never been easy for us even when we were a few years younger!

Today is cd11 for me x

Armygirl · 29/08/2017 18:58

Hi welshmammy I'm a Welsh mammy too Grin

I'm not really sure where I am in my cycle as the last one was a miscarriage... just waiting for next AF (or a random miracle conception) then should be able to date it.

I am still feeling horrendously sick so wondering what's going on with hormones... sigh...

Good luck you all!

EverythingNow · 29/08/2017 20:15

I'm cd11, I think I had a very nearly positive opk today, it's my first month ever really using them so we'll see.

Good luck everyone Smile

I'm 39 and ttc #2 I had clomid last year and hyperstimulated my ovaries so we had to stop for ages
Just started on clomid round 2
This is the first cycle.

I dislocated my pelvis having my daughter and it's taken 6 years of surgery and physio to feel semi normal again

GreggsSausageRolls · 29/08/2017 21:39

@Armygirl sorry just saw your post....
I'm cd2 which is fine as I want charting or anything last cycle but I was just saying to dh how emotional I am this time. This is out last chance to have dc3 as consultant wants to do a hysterectomy due to endo and adenyomyosis. I'm lucky to have two fab dc but I don't feel 'done' so each month I'm not pg I have to accept I may not have dc3 which I'm struggling with to be honest. I have one ovary, am 38 and my bowel is stuck to my uterus s odds aren't brilliant but consultant said my tube is fine so no reason why I shouldn't get pregnant.

Would be good to have some support on here, thanks @Armygirl SmileWine

GreggsSausageRolls · 29/08/2017 21:40

Sorry didn't mean for the whole post to be in bold BlushGrin

EverythingNow · 29/08/2017 21:42

Armygirl I'm not wholly sure, I think you take them same time each day, and then when the test line is stronger than the control it's positive.

I never used them before when ttc so I really don't know. I have pretty short cycles, they're usually 27days but last month was 25.

Armygirl · 29/08/2017 21:49

dizzybintess ouch ouch ouch that sounds incredibly painful. I assume you'll need c section next time then?

greggsausagerolls how long can you keep trying for before consultant wants to do the hysterectomy??

GreggsSausageRolls · 29/08/2017 22:31

He's given us six months.... I'm in a lot of pain though @Armygirl

Armygirl · 29/08/2017 22:39
