Hi ,

We are trying to conceive baby boy, but chinese calendar shows very limited months to conceive baby boy. Is it necessary to follow Chinese Callander ? Is there any other way ? Please suggest if someone conceived baby boy without following chinese Callander. It wil be big help as it is stressing me.

Many thanks

None of the ways are scientific or guaranteed, so if you aren't prepared to have and love a baby girl then you shouldn't be trying - sorry if that sounds harsh.

KoolKoala07 · 05/08/2017 19:13

^ agreed

Ecureuil · 05/08/2017 19:17

You've got a 50:50 chance. If you don't want a girl, don't have a baby.

EsmeeMerlin · 05/08/2017 19:18

There is no way to plan to conceive a boy of girl. It's 50/50 chance

15MinutesWithYou · 05/08/2017 19:19

I don't think there's much you can do. According to the Chinese calendar both my daughters should be boys! It's just luck. Go in prepared for either gender. If you can't, don't ttc.

Ssrr8 · 05/08/2017 19:26

This is my second child , I did follow Chinese calendar to conceive girl and I love my daughter. If you want to 1 girl and 1 boy it doesn't mean you don't love baby girls.. I just don't want to wait till December as per Chinese calendar that's why posted this post to ask some other methods. You should not advise to conceive or not it's my choice . My question was different .

It's always a 50:50 chance. You having a girl after going the Chinese calendar was nothing more than coincidence. Try for a baby.

Ecureuil · 05/08/2017 19:30

Just looked at the Chinese calendar. My 2 girls should be 2 boys.

nobullshitallowed · 05/08/2017 19:32

Bloody hell. You're trying for a baby, not choosing a wallpaper.

Just be grateful for whatever gender the baby is. There is absolutely no way on determining the gender of the baby, unless you go to America and pay. Which imo is disgraceful.

Bellaposy · 05/08/2017 19:35

My Cousin's best friend tried everything the internet had to offer to conceive a girl - everything. Chinese calender, certain days of her cycle, certain food. You name it. Needless to say she has a healthy little boy. It's all nonsense.

ziggzagg · 05/08/2017 19:35

I conceived in April therefore should be having a boy- I'll let you know after my gender scan next week.

But I second what pps have said it's 50/50 and you have to be prepared for any gender. My dear nan tried for that elusive son and ended up with 8 daughters!

SeaSeeker · 05/08/2017 19:38

Chinese calendar is rubbish I'm afraid. None of my children fit in with the Chinese calendar. I wouldn't worry about it

BendydickCuminsnatch · 05/08/2017 19:40

You think all babies conceived in December will be boys then??

I actually laughed out loud at the idea of relying on a calendar to 'ensure' you conceive the 'correct' gender Grin Whaaaat? Shettles Method at least sounds slightly plausible!

But yes, 50:50 chance.

monkeyfacegrace · 05/08/2017 19:41

😂😂 you have to wait until Dec to have a boy? Jesus I've heard it all now. Some people will believe anything

It's a simple pot luck I'm afraid. You can't order a sex Grin

insancerre · 05/08/2017 19:42

Eh?

Bellaposy · 05/08/2017 19:42

I have a daughter ...

MeanAger · 05/08/2017 19:44

Oh dear

oldbirdy · 05/08/2017 19:46

If there were any failsafe way to get exactly the sex of baby you want there would be no such thing as "gender disappointment". Everyone would have a boy and a girl.
I agree that it is highly risky to conceive on the basis that you would only be happy with a boy. Unless you have ivf with sex selection which as far as I know is only available for certain devastating genetic conditions, you have to take your chances.

ArchieStar · 05/08/2017 19:47

What are you going to do if you conceive in December and shock horror you actually have a girl?

viques · 05/08/2017 19:49

You do realise that what determines a babies sex is the man's sperm? ALL eggs carry an X chromosome. Sperm have either x or Y. Two xx make a girl xy a boy.

Nothing to do with calendars, phases of the moon, magic songs , offerings to gods, or lucky knickers , just what your partner produces.

dowhatyouwish · 05/08/2017 19:56

OP the fact that you can't spell calendar is a bad start. Just aim to have a healthy baby and be happy with any gender. If you want a boy and don't get one keep having babies until you do, if it's that important. You have a 50/50 chance. All those "theories" are just for jokes. I guess you didn't get the memo.

JennyLane · 05/08/2017 19:59

Given that in China there is a historic cultural preference to have baby boys - one child rule - and there is an abundance of baby girls born there... pretty sure it's bullshit

nooka · 05/08/2017 20:08

Lots of sex selective abortions and female infanticide too JaneLane. There is now an imbalance in many areas and it is causing many issues.

DaisysStew · 05/08/2017 20:27

Well I've just done one out of curiosity and apparently my DS is a girl- who knew?! Grin

In all seriousness how would a calendar help determine sex? Do you think sperm have little calendars in there (hold on a second Dave, according to the calendar it's the ladies turn to race this month, we have to wait until December)?

Chattycat78 · 06/08/2017 08:49

Sorry but this is ridiculous. Just be grateful if you can conceive and have a healthy baby! Not everyone can!
