Hi all, thought I'd get the ball rolling on the new thread.

Welcome all with immune/natural killer cell issues.

It's been a while since a new thread so thought it might be helpful if we all added our stats:

I'm harriet, age 30, TTC#1.
3 mcs (2 at 5 weeks, 1 mmc at 9 weeks).
Hypothyroid and high NK cells.
Cycle 2 on pred!

Aww Harriet that's so sweet about DH! I think it's a really good idea to book in the scan so that you can both have some time together no matter what happens.

Luna- I also didn't experience side effects from pred, except for terrible acne (common with prolonged steroid use) and moon face :-( I had pretty bad nausea all the way up to about 19/20 weeks which I imagine would have been even worse if pred hadn't helped mask symptoms earlier on. Once I came off the pred my acne/moon face went away thank goodness!

Drttc · 01/08/2017 10:13

Luna- no I'd had bad associations with telling the GP about pregnancy in the past as obviously I kept having to say I miscarried and they insisted it was just bad luck and never ever tried to help.

Hehe we got our dog 2 days before finding out we were pregnant with DS (thought it was a BFN)! She's our beautiful baby girl!

LunaB · 01/08/2017 10:46

Mine's a girl too Drttc My toddler loves her so much! She rides in the pram when she's tired!

I have GP trauma too... this one particular guy couldn't have been more insensitive! Plus I had to keep cancelling the booking in appointments and these private early reassurance scans... So I get it... what will be will be at the end of the day - and avoiding triggers or morons are best!

Oh luna what a darling!!!

I have a massive spoilt fat cat who is 6 now. He will not take kindly to being moved down the pecking order if a baby ever arrives!

Morning ladies,
Thanks for all your well wishes! We had good news!! A baby measuring 6+6 with a heartbeat!! I was absolutely gobsmacked when she said do you want to see your baby!! I was utterly convinced it was going to be bad news!!
So I'm off to see Mr S tomorrow for his scan... then intralipids on 16th, providing all continues to go well.

I also had very few symptoms with pred and pretty much carried on as usual.

I also did as DRTTC did and waited until 10 weeks to have my booking appointment with midwife... bad experience here too. Hated having to keep telling them I'd miscarried.
I think I'll possibly call them in the next week or so this time.

JustLa, strong heartbeat sounds encouraging either way! This is all looking great. I'm glad you're looking into possible PTSD, it's so common to struggle after MCs and you have been terrified throughout your pregnancy. Such a shame we can't just enjoy the journey now!

Harriet, I love that your DH reacted like that! How sweet. Great idea with the card.

Luna, symptoms start very minor, I have had brief palpitations and headaches but nothing to warrant cancelling something you want to do. They can get worse as the weeks proceed, but nothing unmanageable.

5dpo today and still have creamy cm, tender breasts, elevated temp and occasional cramps (not the AF kind). They are all things that either appeared in my earlier pregnancies or which are bona fide symptoms according to Fertility Friend. Only thing is, with most of them, at 5dpo it's unlikely that pregnancy is the cause so it might be coincidence! Having said that, I do remember getting side breast twinges at about this time in my last pregnancy, got a BFN at what turned out to be 7dpo (was unsure of O day cos I'd never got a positive opk that month) then a BFP at 13 dpo.

LunaB · 01/08/2017 11:17

AMAAAAAAAAAZING!
Wow... let's keep adding babies ladies!
By the power of our moonfaces we will succeed! 🌝🌝🌝

PoppyJ1 · 01/08/2017 11:41

I missed a load of messages for some reason! Must have not refreshed...

Seeking this is FANTASTIC news! I'm so pleased for you! You handled the wait so well and it turned out to be ok...you should be proud of yourself for holding it together, it bodes well for the months ahead of your due date. Phew!

Lovely pup, Luna!

Hear you all on the doc/scan trauma!

JustLa · 01/08/2017 12:21

Omg SEEKING!! That's such great news, I'm afraid I totally welled up (Blame them hormones) I'm so happy for you! Onward and upward 🙌🏼

Harriet, 6 weeks is around that time when heart starts beating so don't be alarmed if you can't see anything, I guess this goes without saying now after Seekings first hand experience!

Poppy you're right, our rights to be carefree and innocent during preg are gone but I really believe we will enjoy the fruits of our labour so much more for our struggles! Fingers crossed you're baking a good egg 🍳

Luna, love the pooch

LunaB · 01/08/2017 14:12

JustLa I didn't realise I could Not have the DrS one and instead have NHS... I think I would prob go NHS for nuchal and then Harmony with DrS... but might change mind once I'm at that point and have a scan with everybody lol!.

With my DS I just had the 12-week NHS... nothing else! Oh to be young and innocent!

Drttc · 01/08/2017 15:27

Seeking!!! Yes!! Absolutely brilliant news. The little bean is strong

Drttc · 01/08/2017 15:28

Luna- your doggy is precious!!! Hehe so cute her chilling in the pram.

sunnyday01 · 01/08/2017 15:42

fabulous news seeking, so happy for you.

With both my pregnancies, I have never had my 12 weeks scan with dr s, just the nhs one. I haven't had the harmony test either just the basic nhs ones. My understanding is that the 12 weeks scan isn't with dr s bt one of his colleagues but I may be wrong, as the programme has changed slightly from my first pregnancy.

With both pregnancies, I haven't had my booking in at with midwife until 10 weeks due to previous mc, however my midwife was very understanding and luckily i still got in to my local hospital for the 12 weeks scan within 2-3 weeks.

Tryingno1 · 01/08/2017 20:00

Drttc · 01/08/2017 20:14

Trying!!! Oh my goodness!!! I had no idea you were expecting AND so far along!! Congratulations lovely!!!! Which route brought you to this wonderful place??

LunaB · 01/08/2017 20:15

tryingno1 excellent news! I'm unfamiliar with your story; must have missed it! I'm assuming you are a gorgeous DrS success story and you look down at us sweetly over your big belly 🙌

Tryingno1 · 01/08/2017 20:21

Hi drttc! Thanks :) longgggg time coming!
God what route wasn't it?!
I strongly think pgs was what clinched it for me but I did throw in pred clexane asprin ivig hydroxy gcsf and intralipids in for good measure Shock
Just on clexane now. Baby seems fine but placenta is totally covering my cervix :/ so got to take it easy and I'll be having a csection. Still a chance it may move but unlikely now I'm nearly 28 weeks. I'm totally fine with a section but hope I don't have a massive bleed.
Congrats on ur bfp, I hope ur keeping it together as u can. When r u going to have ur first scan?

Tryingno1 · 01/08/2017 20:23

No I ended up with mr gorgy at fga and doing ivf at my local clinic
6mc and 3 fresh and 1 frozen cycle...
Just want baby here safely please now!

Drttc · 01/08/2017 20:32

Oh my goodness Trying I am so happy for you it's got me ready eyed! If anyone deserves to be parents it's you both and it feels so right to have heard this news. Bless that belly!

My SIL had the same placental issue and towards the end they said they weren't sure if it had moved or not so she could give natural labor a go. She decided it was unlikely and went for the c-section (after a bit of spotting at 38 weeks)... Thank god she did! Her wife (a midwife) said it was the worst placenta she'd ever seen. The c-section did the trick and they've had a happy healthy baby girl for the last 10 months :-) As long as you monitor the situation (which I know you wil) I'm sure it'll go just as smoothly! Eeek so excited for you!

Only 4 weeks today so by my standards I don't even count it as pregnant :-( lol! Scan booked for 5+4 (hopefully) to see what's going on. I'm pretty calm to be honest... I'm so grateful for DS a second DC would seem particularly miraculous!

Drttc · 01/08/2017 20:33

Teary eyed* hehe

Tryingno1 · 01/08/2017 20:41

Thanks drttc! Really kind of u :) I'm still shocked grateful and emotional I've made it to here I really thought I wouldn't as most of us have thought along this journey

Yep getting regular scans and was already under a consultant as ivf pregnancy and it's my hospital protocol. Just would have been nice to not have another worry but I'm used to it now!

Keep things crossed for u, totally understand re ur thoughts to not have immunes. I hope it's another sticky bean for u :)

LunaB · 01/08/2017 20:43

Lovely happy story... what a slog but so worth it

Drttc · 01/08/2017 20:48

Ah yes I did say out loud 'why?!' when I read that as you really earned a straight-forward pregnancy! That said oh my goodness... You are going to love being a mum so much!! The depth of gratitude you experience after this journey makes the hard bits so much easier. I just know you're about to feel the greatest joy you've ever known when you hold your little one. Gives me all the feels! Xx
