Hi all, thought I'd get the ball rolling on the new thread.

Welcome all with immune/natural killer cell issues.

It's been a while since a new thread so thought it might be helpful if we all added our stats:

I'm harriet, age 30, TTC#1.
3 mcs (2 at 5 weeks, 1 mmc at 9 weeks).
Hypothyroid and high NK cells.
Cycle 2 on pred!

It's because by that point the placenta has developed and has taken over.

harrietm87 · 08/08/2017 10:36

Welcome stuck and sheepy and sorry for your losses.

stuck what a rollercoaster!! Your little one must be so strong. Fx for you.

That's interesting about 10 weeks seeking. I've never got beyond 6 so right now I feel like if I ever get to see a heartbeat I might be able to relax, but also know that if I do get there the goalposts will move immediately!

Not long to wait now drttc. I have been thinking too about a private scan, but trying to save money atm so think I will hold off. My Mr S one is now at 6+5, so I'm hoping it will be conclusive by then. After feeling so wiped out at the weekend I've had more energy yesterday and today, which I'm obv taking as a bad sign. Ridiculous I know. I'm still only 4+6, and 13 days to wait.

God it all goes so painfully slowly!

harrietm87 · 08/08/2017 10:48

You said it luna!!! This has been the longest year of my life - every single day has been CDX or YDPO or Z weeks pregnant...argh.

OP posts:
LunaB · 08/08/2017 10:50

I know, me too. Since 1 January 2017 I've been pregnant or miscarrying or waiting to try again or to see a doctor or to start meds...

I really hope all of us are safely pregnant on 1 January 2018 and can put this year behind us!

Sheepy1980 · 08/08/2017 14:21

Luna it would be good, I am not brave or in the least bit strong that accolade has to go to DH and DD. I am now waiting for my dr to get back to me as 2 weeks for pain and feeling crap is too long. I have managed some housework today but not a great deal

LunaB · 08/08/2017 14:43

I'm certain you are stronger than you think Sheepy 💪💪✊️

JustLa · 08/08/2017 16:53

Thanks Seeking! I think he told me that about a 9 week scan haha, and the NHS sonographer said at 12 weeks all organs etc have formed and just need to grow, so I've decided I'm never allowed to relax!
I'm so scared of feeling optimistic but a little bit of excitement keeps creeping through. Next goal- screening for issues. Your scan is almost just a week away now right? Will put my lucky scan knickers on for you 😂 (I really do have some)

Harriet you are so right about the goal posts, there's always a new goal ahead but think we have to break pregnancy down into bite sized chunks as it's such a long haul! I had never seen a HB before either, I can't wait for that to happen to you although you soon realised you have 100 more hurdles to get over shortly after, lol. I think your 1st scan is perfectly timed, any earlier may be too soon for HB... will make sure the lucky scan knickers are washed again for that!

Luna it feels like such a lot of time lost doesn't it, so frustrating but I'm so sure you'll have success soon with Mr S!

Hope you are feeling less wobbly today Drttc? Scan is getting so much closer.

Stuckin, how are the symptoms going today? Hope you're feeling better about your nausea etc lessening

Sheepy, the end goal will be worth it. Hope you manage to get the scan soon to ease your mind.

Any news on the symptom spotting front Poppy? Are you home safely now?

Xx

Stuckinstressville · 08/08/2017 17:11

Just nausea still awol, but i booked in today which was a HUGE milestone as normally i have not seen a viable heartbeat so cancelled all bookings. Am mega jittery and the midwives say it could be pred and they want it reviewed next week as i am sooo jumpy, nervous and not like my normal mellow self. But in big news, that dh is not even aware of yet i booked to have home birth! Now to give myself reasons why and convince Dh. Other than Ds was 2 hours end to end with 20 mins ina pool after a full delivery ward meant i laboured in the corridors!

JustLa · 08/08/2017 17:19

The pred AND cyclogest AND your normal hormones will make you very jittery! Mine peaked at around 8-9 weeks and I felt like I had no idea how I could cope with 9 months of this. Thankfully, your natural hormones stabilise soon (mine started to somewhere between 9-10) and you need to get used to the pred too so you should level off and feel stronger soon 😊
You mean you've booked in for scan? Yay! Is it soon?
Home birth sounds great!
Xx

Stuckinstressville · 08/08/2017 19:27

Just at my hosp you have to attend a loooooong appt for medical history and stuff and then are booked in. They then book 12 w scan and bloods and follow up with midwives and consultants as needed.

PoppyJ1 · 08/08/2017 21:50

Hi all,

Sleepy, sorry to hear about all your miscarriages. What a horrific ordeal. You must be much stronger than you think.

Luna, I second your comment about 2018! I will be so glad to see the back of this year for various reasons.

Harriet, agree scan timing sounds perfect, anything earlier and you risk seeing nothing of note and getting into an even more anxious state. I am so disappointed for all of us who cannot just enjoy TTC and pregnancy. People are well-meaning and they say "just relax and stop trying so hard" but we know we need to be on top of everything, especially when we are on strong meds and/or trying to schedule TTC around work schedules.

JustLa, thanks for thinking of me. I am definitely out this month as AF has arrived in full force. At least I know it's the high progesterone giving me all the symptoms every month so now I can just ignore them. I am hoping September could be the month, or even December because I will definitely be with DP for my whole fertile window. Not sure yet about August, October and November.

Is anyone here rhesus negative or knowledgeable about anti-D shots? I have been reading about this and I am Rhesus negative, which tends to not be a problem in a first pregnancy but can in subsequent ones. I wasn't told to have an anti-D shot after my first MC but five weeks into my second pregnancy I was told to. The embryo stopped growing the next day and I read today that women who need anti-D in pregnancy normally take it from 28 weeks. I am really wondering if this was a contributing factor to my second MC, because even though I had bleeding in the days before the injection, my hormones were fine and the embryo was growing.

LunaB · 08/08/2017 22:09

Sorry to hear that Poppy hun, we are now AF buddies as I got mine today. I hope to be able to take it on the chin as you have if I don't make it next month, and to remain as positive... although I'm sure you've picked yourself up off the floor and are on reserve upbeat mode at the moment 💪

I have no knowledge of the Rhesus issue I'm afraid... ☹️

Hope it's good to be home at least and you have a nice tan ☺️

PoppyJ1 · 08/08/2017 22:13

Commiserations, Luna. It's so disappointing, isn't it? I did have a little cry when it became clear but I cheered up quickly thinking about what a lovely time I had with DP. No tan because it's been rainy season and quite cold, even at the beach! No worries though.

Sorry, Sheepy, my auto correct wrote Sleepy in my comment above!

Tee4me · 09/08/2017 09:04

Sorry Poppy & Luna 😞
I don't know about you, but I generally get a surge of positivity and excitement about a new cycle once the initial disappointment passes on CD1. Just focus on all the positive steps you can take to get you closer to a bfp - good nutritious food and perhaps plan something relaxing? A massage is always a nice treat in the run up to FW! x

LunaB · 09/08/2017 09:28

Thats sweet girls, but actually I wasn't expecting to be pregnant this month as DS was away last cycle... sorry, my AF comment was confusing!

I'm still a Shahata TTC virgin! Have been waiting to get started since MAY! But medical issues, work commitments and travel have stopped us being able to try...

I'm certainly excited to get cracking this month!

LunaB · 09/08/2017 09:56

Tee, what's your sitch at the mo? You're also waiting to Go aren't you!?

Preggo ladies, Just, Seeking, Drttc, Harriet, Stuck... How are you all doing? Quietly, optimistically insane?

Sheepy hun, how are you doing? Any news on an internal scan?

Did I miss anyone!

PoppyJ1 · 09/08/2017 10:10

Tee4me, you're absolutely right! In a couple of days I will be looking forward to our next attempt.

Luna, yeah I thought you were waiting for doc's go ahead before TTC but your comment made me wonder if I'd missed something! Still thinking about your stealth reveal plan and will take to Pinterest for further inspiration and add it to my "cosmic ordering" board (all the things I want to happen.)

harrietm87 · 09/08/2017 10:20

Sorry about AF poppy, but I think the news about your progesterone is so positive, and you have such a great attitude - onwards and upwards!

luna the wait is so frustrating isn't it - hope this new cycle is the lucky one for you! When do you usually ovulate?

Im fine - no symptoms other than I'm really tired but think that might be a side effect of the progesterone? And every day is just crawling by. I'm so fat as well - it's getting me down a bit! Tried on a dress this morning I haven't worn in a while and it's too tight!!! I obviously don't mind putting on weight if this pregnancy works out, but I know the weight gain is from the pred and it will just add insult to injury if it ends up being for nothing! I used to work out a lot but worried about doing too much now, and also so exhausted. Might try some gentle exercise at the weekend.

justla, seeking and drttc are you exercising/did you in your last pregnancies on pred? Did the weight gain even out after the first trimester?

Tee4me · 09/08/2017 10:24

Luna remembered you hadn't kicked off with the meds but wondered if you still may have been active during FW 😬 We were on a break last month as I was still going through the testing/results. It was so refreshing to get AF this month and not completely curse it for once! CD10 today, usually ovulate CD13 but have been getting some early signs so will see what opk says later. I'm thinking may be a day early on Friday 🤔 Bring on the moonface, I'm ready for ya 👊🏻🙌🏻🌝💁🏼 x

Tee4me · 09/08/2017 10:28

PS Luna I love your 'reveal' plan, you sound like an Instagram dream! Totally want to drop a nonchalant, stylish little pic like that when I have a big bump to show off, wouldn't do anything before about 6 months I think x

Tee4me · 09/08/2017 10:30

Harriet I think gentle exercise is a great idea. I feel the same as you about exercising, I just cancelled my gym membership last month. Ordered an exercise bike instead and will just do some gentle daily pedalling. Long walks are also a nice idea, good for the mind & soul too. Maybe not in this weather though, urgh, is it lashing down for the rest of you too? ☔️

LunaB · 09/08/2017 10:42

Great Tee, that's what I thought - we are Sisters in Waiting! I'm actually excited to get moonface now - I might shove some cotton wool in my cheeks and practice moonpout, plus pillow up jumper (then be committed by DH who assumes I have totally lost it)

I will wait until 6 months too... or until I feel safe!

LunaB · 09/08/2017 10:46

Should ovulate on 24th Harriet! Will attempt leg and bikini line maintenance around 17th... and entice husband for 7 day bonk fest from 18th!

I'm fat from comfort eating to prepare for comfort eating... I've decided to dress baggy from now to cover any preg weight and avoid nosey questions at work...

PoppyJ1 · 09/08/2017 11:05

Harriet, glad to hear all is well apart from the annoying symptoms and weight gain.

How do you feel about swimming? Lovely and relaxing and extremely good for weight management and toning.

How long have you been told to take Pred for? My doc said til 12 weeks at which point hopefully the Pred bloating will subside as the pregnancy weight starts to take hold and the two won't be occurring together! You will be buying bigger clothes soon too which will make a difference to how you feel and see the difference.
