Hi all, thought I'd get the ball rolling on the new thread.

Welcome all with immune/natural killer cell issues.

It's been a while since a new thread so thought it might be helpful if we all added our stats:

I'm harriet, age 30, TTC#1.
3 mcs (2 at 5 weeks, 1 mmc at 9 weeks).
Hypothyroid and high NK cells.
Cycle 2 on pred!

Hi just dropping in to say hi to everyone here, haven't been on in a while. All is going well with my baby growing I've made it to 25 weeks which was a big milestone as I know there's a chance the baby can survive from this gestation. So all of you suffering through the big fat faces, night sweats, nausea and other nasties stick with it!

LunaB · 04/08/2017 09:10

😝🤞💝 jaffa - great news

PoppyJ1 · 04/08/2017 10:30

Thanks, Luna ☺️ You are not "barren!" Enjoy the wine, It's a shame we can't have it in pregnancy to keep us calm!

JustLa, yes basically, if the blood test caught the other hormone and mistook it for progesterone the result could be 10% lower. However, the Pred is meant to suppress that hormone. All very interesting. DP can't believe I didn't get the blood test to double check pregnancy but I cannot be bothered to go to the clinic only to be told in two days time that it was too early. It'd be almost POAS stick by then.

Harriet, getting left side ovary pinching today, just like you did 👍

harrietm87 · 04/08/2017 10:54

Aaahhh poppy so exciting! Very interesting on the progesterone level. What dpo are you today? I was sure you would be testing earlier than Monday too! Yes I did get left side twinges. I know I ovulated from my left side this time too, though in my last pregnancy it was from the right ovary and I still felt it on the left!

jaffa and snoopy so good to hear from you - congratulations!!! I wonder how @pickledsausage is doing?? Snoopy you're so close now - good luck!

tee and amy that's so annoying they messed up your tests. When are you starting the meds? Fx for more good luck on this thread!

justla yes I agree - intralipids were actually quite enjoyable! (Once I got over nearly passing out when it went in). There was just one other lady in there and we did have a good chat. The midwife is so lovely.

Harriet, I'm 8dpo today. Thinking of testing on Sunday or Monday if I can stand it! After that I won't be able to tell DP face to face. Got to see if I can find a reasonable pregnancy test out here! I got up for the loo twice in the night then first thing this morning. This is very sudden! Tingly nipples and still creamy cm so I feel like I have more tangible symptoms than last time.

Please divulge what was enjoyable about the intripalids, I am very intrigued! And glad you've had a positive few days.

Tee4me · 04/08/2017 14:46

Poppy this is very exciting! Be lovely to hear more good news on this thread! Are you an Amazon Prime customer? I get all my TTC bits from there, quick delivery and discrete.
Harriet I'm currently CD5. Usually ovulate CD13 (next Saturday), already booked DS in for a sleepover with his Nanny on the Friday 😂 Been on Thyroxine for over a week now, so hoping it's kicked in fully by the time the egg drops. I've ordered an exercise bike to keep myself lightly active.
This is definitely the most positive thread with most bumps I've stumbled across, very encouraging!! x

PoppyJ1 · 04/08/2017 14:59

Tee4me, thanks! I'm very curious of course! Sadly Amazon Prime won't work here (in West Africa for DP's work) because we have major problems with post and deliveries. I emailed the doctor back at the local clinic and asked him where I can get FR and Clearblue, because they are around!

Sounds like you are well prepared indeed for O day! Love the banishing of child in the interests of minimising disruption to V. important schedule 😂 Good for you on the exercise too, I'm just sitting here getting bloated 😂

Also wanted to add, congrats on your excellent progress Jaffa! 25 weeks! I feel about this the way I saw year 11 girls when I first went to secondary school! Awesome.

Also so pleased to see our thread came up in the trending or active discussions widget, attracted more newbies and returners 😄 Welcome!

Tee4me · 04/08/2017 15:24

Ah that's a shame about delivery difficulties, good luck tracking a FRER down!
Ha! Banishment at this point in time is a massive bonus! ⛔️⛔️⛔️ We don't often manage morning bonks, what with a 7am intruder! Definitely want to cover all bases for my first month on pred!

LunaB · 04/08/2017 18:28

7am?? Tee you lucky fox... I've been getting 5:50am wake-up calls 😱😱 Maybe I'll send mine away too, during my baby making bonking

Tee4me · 04/08/2017 19:35

Ouch Luna! I suppose we are lucky with 7am. We have always used the gro clock, which has been amazing, DS knows he has to wait for 'mr sun' - thoroughly recommend if you're looking for a longer lie in! x

LunaB · 04/08/2017 20:04

Will try it 😅😅😅 bless their annoying cotton socks

JustLa · 05/08/2017 19:58

Jaffacakes, what fab news! Congrats on getting to a more confident place in your pregnancy, hoping I get there... soon if possible 🍀

Poppy, good luck finding a decent preggy test, but also remember how Harriet's FRER didn't provide as strong of a line as a cheapy one!? That's probably rare but maybe if you can't find a good one, get 3 different dodgy ones?
Regarding intralipids, it takes around 2h and you're constantly monitored, which is comforting! You can ask the nurses whatever you like and have plenty of time to discuss, you get to chat to other ladies that are in because they are either preg or about to embark on an ivf cycle so there's tonnes to chat about. It's relaxing and feels like you're being pampered, plus you know there is stuff going into you that will protect your little bean.

Tee, good job on both the bonk planning and exercise planning!

Harriet, DrTTC & Seeking, how are you all feeling?

Xx

harrietm87 · 06/08/2017 07:46

poppy!! Are you testing today? Hope you managed to find some tests! Good luck!

I agree with everything justla said about the intralipids- it felt comforting to know someone was looking after me and I was doing everything I could to make this work.

I've been feeling so exhausted it's like I've been drugged! I had 2 naps yesterday - a 1 hour and a 3 hour - and then went to bed at 10! Don't know how I'm going to cope with work next week if this carries on. Only very light cramps from time to time and no more spotting. Boobs aren't painful but they are huge.

tee great planning for next week! Hope the thyroxine starts to kick in. I've been on 150mcg since I was 18 and would actually be a zombie without it!

Hope everyone else is well.

Harriet, I'm envious of your napping- I wish I could. I'm averaging around 5-6h per night and I'm always tired lol. I take the fatigue as a wonderful sign that your body is working extra hard building a new little person! ⭐️

And yes I think it's your testing day today Poppy! (if you find tests and decide to go for it) ... I hope it's your month lovely 🤞🏻 Xx

PoppyJ1 · 06/08/2017 08:45

Hi all, thanks so much for thinking of me and asking for updates! I managed to get Clearblue digitals and took one early today that was BFN. I also had some pink discolouration during sex yesterday.

However, I don't think I'm out yet because CB digis are not very sensitive and if I'm honest, I think I Od late in the day so it's really only 9.5 dpo. I got my precious positives late on 11dpo and 13dpo. And the spotting stopped completely after sex, which was slightly painful, so I think it was friction! Very sore boobs today! Had a temp dip but not below the cover line.

Intralipids sound lovely. Harriet, I loved napping during my pregnancies, feels like a practical help somehow! JustLa, you poor thing, that is not enough sleep. Any ideas on solutions for that?

JustLa · 06/08/2017 09:17

Hey Poppy, I agree. I tested on day 9 and nada, not even a faint line but Day 14 was a BFP, so def not out 😊
I'm terrible at napping, my brain always tells me there is something interesting I should be doing! And when the light comes through curtains in the morning - that's it! I get up for a tinkle and no more sleeps. Hubby is popping some black out blinds behind bedroom curtains today so hopefully that will help :)
When do you fly back?

x

PoppyJ1 · 06/08/2017 09:34

JustLa, bless him. Love that you're preparing your home for a more relaxing pregnancy and the arrival of a small one, which will make those blinds ever more necessary! They will make a huge difference if you're sensitive to light.

DP is heading out to an industrial site tomorrow morning and I fly out tomorrow night. Heading to the beach now. Palm trees, red sand and fried plantains! Overcast today though so we think we will skip the sea and sit in a beach bar looking at houses on my iPad 😄

Harriet, Loving the boob growth, sounds like everything is progressing well. Early nights for you next week by the sound of it!

JustLa · 06/08/2017 10:23

Fab Poppy! I had the best plantain with Ethiopian curry at the Sunday up market, feel free to pm me any pics! My wunderlust is killing me at the mo but dreaming of a time I can take a little squidger overseas with me 😊

I can't imagine anything better than your plan for today- enjoy, you deserve it

X

harrietm87 · 06/08/2017 11:02

poppy that all sounds lovely! Totally agree - you are absolutely not out. CB digis aren't sensitive at all, and even on a FRER at 10dpo I only got a shadow. Maybe hold out now until you can get hold of a FRER back home? Other signs sound good! Have a good flight and rest up.

LunaB · 06/08/2017 12:39

I was wondering if you still got the crippling exhaustion even with the drugs that seem to mask the other stuff - seems like you do Harriet!

Poppy, firstly you're right, prob a smidge early to show the BFP, and secondly - well done you guys for having sex just for fun - can't remember last time I did that 😂😂

JustLa · 06/08/2017 13:50

Luna I thought exactly the same thing with sex, was about to ask wth they think they were doing, DTD just because they want to! Lol

PoppyJ1 · 06/08/2017 15:57

Hey, yes we do that a lot, tbh! Very lucky in that department.

Thanks all for the encouragement, I will take one more test in the morning before DP heads out cos I'd like to be able to tell him face to face. But then I will get a FRER on Tuesday and see how that goes.

JustLa I will try to message you some pics, I don't think I can on this phone app though. Will be online properly a bit later!

JustLa · 06/08/2017 18:29

lol I know Poppy, I've no idea how to send pics 😂

Going for week 10 scan tomorrow- pretty nervous as always. This weeks concerns are; Was all the cramping really constipation? Did the heart palpitations hurt the pregnancy in anyway? Do I need to stop eating so much fruit and cake to avoid gestational diabetes! (Yes... yes I do dammit)
Praying for another good result 🙏🏻

Hope all the other lovely ladies who pop in here are doing well whether trying, testing, preggy or just waiting to get started again

xxx

LunaB · 06/08/2017 18:44

😂😂😩 recreational sex... I thought it was an urban myth!

Just - Keep us posted!! And I'm sure cake is fine if it has fruit 🙄

All ok with the rest of the preggo princesss?

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 06/08/2017 18:51

Just a quick note to say baby arrived this morning. From very first twinge to birth was two hours forty three minutes. I think that's classed as a precipitous labour. Staying in hospital tonight as baby pooped because she was distressed by the speed of it all. Edie isn't yet convinced her little sister was a good idea haha
