Not sure if I should start new thread for this? Is there one open already?

Btw, youtube is awash with "fertility meditations" if anyone's feeling a bit woo. Apparently it's all good if you fall asleep, cos your subconscious will absorb the energy.....

AmyL88 · 10/07/2017 12:13

Hey Ladies,

Sorry I have been MIA. Needed to take some time out, friends are growing and popping out babies left, right and centre at the moment. My due date is fast approaching and I deffo i thought I would be pregnant again..so much for the 'more fertile' crap.

Anyway AF finally arrived on Saturday after a 53 day cycle Confused I started my first course of clomid yesterday so I am optimistic for this cycle...off on holiday in 4 weeks, timing isn't great but hey ho!

Also looking into reflexology this month after reading some positive reviews.

I feel your pain @TheGrumpySquirrel....I spent over £100 one month on Preg tests...all for a bloody negative. I long for the feeling i had when i tested before i miscarried as i was so blissfully unaware i was actually pregnant (and was ordered to take a test by a friend)

How is everyone? Sorry to see some newbies on here but its a great place to vent.

@Anne whereabouts are you in your cycle now?

Hugs to all. x

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/07/2017 12:45

Hey Amy, bloody hell that's a long cycle! You must have been going spare. But at least you can draw a line and look forward. Are you feeling alright on the Clomid? And how does it work, is it a pill a day?

Holiday will be fab!

I'm CD6. The last however many naffing cycles I've been sure I was pregnant, got a blindingly bright bfn, then come on that day or the next and felt so fucking stupid. Trying to avoid that, plus the insane cost.

AmyL88 · 10/07/2017 13:15

Ah @Anne it's a mind f**k every month that ends in a BPN isn't it?! Any more updates from the consultant? I am CD 3 so we will hopefully be testing around the same time, if my body plays ball!

So far no side effects, I am taking them in the evening so hoping that will help with any bloating etc...It's just one tablet a day for 5 days then hopefully i should ovulate around CD 14. At the moment I am not sure if i am ovulating and if my positives are true then they have been around CD30!

yellowfrontdoor · 10/07/2017 14:17

All done & discharged. They were so lovely.
They gave me a little tea light token with a lovely label saying 'in memory of your baby'.
Now I'd like a big cream cake I think.

PumbletonWakeshaft · 10/07/2017 14:37

Hey yellow that sounds like a kind gesture. Hope you are feeling OK, really glad it went smoothly for you. Make sure you take it easy for a while. I just had a Belgian bun and cup of tea - highly recommend! Just trying to pluck up the courage to call the hospital and register my formal complaint after my procedure.

I'm listening to It Starts With the Egg this afternoon, can anyone tell me about how they've found taking Co-Q10?

FresasAndFrambuesas · 10/07/2017 18:22

I got a BFP! It's really faint though, I'm 14dpo. Trying not to worry about the fact it's very faint but after my ectopic I would feel much happier to see a nice strong one. Going to retest Wednesday I think. Argh! I'm switching between being excited, terrified and totally ambivalent

BertieBotts · 10/07/2017 19:04

Fresa's, that's great!! Yes try and hold off on retesting for a couple of days, fingers crossed for you.

Smurf123 · 10/07/2017 19:55

Fresa that's fantastic news! Keeping all fingers crossed you have a smooth pregnancy journey!!
Yellow I'm glad thinga went OK for you today. Take it easy over the next few days!!
Grumpy it is difficult to resist the urge to test!! Like anne I have been trying really hard this cycle not to waste money on tests before af is due... This is the first month since last miscarriage that I have succeeded (so far)

Smurf123 · 10/07/2017 19:56

Anne can i ask when do you take the aspirin? Is it everyday throughout whole cycle?

PumbletonWakeshaft · 10/07/2017 20:49

Congratulations fresa keeping everything crossed for you x

yellowfrontdoor · 10/07/2017 20:52

Congratulations @FresasAndFrambuesas lovely news!

I'm going to take baby aspirin too, the doctor at the hospital said it was worth trying & wouldn't cause any harm. She said to take it from when you see a heartbeat, but stop at 30 weeks? I think I'll start from ttc though.

I feel like I've been hit by a bus. I can only guess without sounding indelicate that to get their face to your foof they put your legs behind your ears... and I ain't no yoga aficionado! Blush
I've taken ibuprofen too, cramps are a lot more intense this time around Sad

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/07/2017 21:08

Wonderful news fresas! So happy for you.

yellow, that made me cry. I'm so glad they've been kind to you and supportive. There are good people out there with beautiful hearts. Sorry you're really sore. You can do paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine all together if you need to. Stagger them and make sure you eat whatever you can to protect your stomach. You'll feel battered for a while so go easy. Have you got a proper amount of time off work? I went back far too soon! Seemed right at the time but I was being a naive twat.

Well done for holding out smurf!

I take baby aspirin every day from before ov, around cd9 for me, to af. Not sure how long you stay on it after bfp as I'm switching from that to clexane jabs at bfp. But ask a doctor, there's a thread in mc on here about people having rainbow babies on aspirin. Also some pretty unhelpful comments but that's the Internet!

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/07/2017 21:11

Sorry, to add, my consultant said it's good for blood flow in the uterus and therefore implantation.

I'm really careful to eat before I have it, even though it's low dose, and have my other vits at the same time.

I got it in Tesco, it's dispersible but the pharmacist said I could just swallow it which I do.

Hasn't done anything for me yet but fx....

Where's my baby?! Smile

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/07/2017 21:22

I've been taking baby aspirin all cycle. Hope it helps! 5/6dpo now and going slightly mental with impatience

AmyL88 · 10/07/2017 21:22

@Anne Your baby will come, you are too much of a nice person for good things not to happen to you.

I am so emotional tonight. My little boy is starting school in September and I am so not ready for this. I feel like i want to wrap him up and run away where no one can find us. I am sat sobbing typing this. I feel like all the stress of TTC as 'we didn't want a big age gap' , work and general feeling fat and eugh has finally got the better of me. I need to take my own pissing advice and 'Stay Positive' AGHHH

Congrats on the BFP @FresasAndFrambuesas fx for you xxx

yellowfrontdoor · 10/07/2017 21:33

@AnneLovesGilbert it's the most beautiful little token, with a hand-lasered paper butterfly & a little wooden heart you can put a ribbon through. It's linked to a local miscarriage group which I joined straightaway.
I'm teaming up ibuprofen with paracetamol but may buy some codeine too.
The doctor gave me 7 days but I work in an extremely physical job with children so I'll be playing that by ear.

My parents have offered to go halves on a private consultant and 'sticky blood' test. Part of me thinks try aspirin first. Has anyone done this test or gone private?

StepAwayFromGoogle · 10/07/2017 21:34

Quite right, Anne, where's mine too? Smile

Wow, fresas, congratulations! Hopefully you will start us on a roll.

Yellow, hugs, take care of yourself and definitely don't go back to work until you feel ready. I did the same as Anne and went back too soon. Nobody thanked me for it and I was a mess. Hope you had your cream cake.

My consultant advised me to just go on the baby aspirin. No starting and stopping through the cycle, just one a day.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 10/07/2017 21:39

Yellow, I had sticky blood test and all sorts on the NHS recently. It's a simple blood test so shouldn't cost the earth to go private. Where are you based?

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/07/2017 21:39

Oh amy FlowersSadCake

Sending you a massive hug. Sorry you're feeling so low. There will be so many fun exciting things about school to look forward. They look like gorgeous babies still at that age but the world is opening up to them and they learn wonderful things and meet new people and he's so lucky to have you as his mum while he's going out into the world becoming himself and having adventures. He'll still need cuddles and stories and cosy bedtimes and to be a little boy when he's home from acting all grown up at school x

This whole fucking thing sucks beyond belief. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. Hold him close and smell the back of his head. I do that to my gorgeous stepkids when the chips are down and I'm not in bed bawling into a shit novel it always makes me feel better. They're much bigger than your son but thankfully still up for a lot of cuddles.

Your baby will come. And you'll have a snuggly newborn to spend time with while your son is off living it up at school.

AmyL88 · 10/07/2017 21:48

@Yellow, deffo take some time off. As others have also said i went back to work too soon ( the next day) and i ended up having a breakdown on the tube..wished i had taken some time off to recover.

Thanks @Anne . I know I am being completely irrational and he will love school. Its just a bitter sweet that my lovely perfect baby is growing up and he has got me through the darkest of days.

I must have been asked 5 times this weekend 'When are you having another' at one point i was eating a burger at a bbq and i actually thought they were talking about having another burger and not a baby....wtf awkward!

I may also start the baby asprin now i have researched it a little more myself. Can't do any harm!

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/07/2017 21:48

I had that and a bunch of other tests through the rmc on the NHS after my third loss. After it's a simple blood test. Results had my numbers with the normal range next to them which was helpful.

I have a soft office job but in a big open plan office and still wish I'd had more time off. I got a note from the epu when we found out which seemed plenty but only had surgery 5 days later, then got an infection and felt like shit from that and weak and dizzy.

I remember doing my face for the first time in weeks and going in all brace and stupid and was sobbing on my boss an hour later. It got better and I did a mix of wfh and going in. Yours is way more full on so please please go easy.

The doc said to start from ov but just from a gastric pov and it's such a low dose. It's easier to remember to take it if it's every day!

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/07/2017 21:51

People are soooo rude. I know they're just making conversation but I'm never asking anyone ever again if they're thinking about it or pregnant because you just cannot know what's going on with them behind closed doors.

"We're working on it" if you're feeling kind. "That's a very personal question" cold stare if you're not?

MouseLove · 10/07/2017 22:01

Ah Amy sorry you're feeling emotional, if it's any help, me and my sister have a 10 year age gap and we get on brilliantly. We're closer the older we get. 5 yrs is nothing, you'll have a little helper on your hands.

Yellow, I had 3 weeks off total when I had my mmc. Physically I probably could have gone back in 2 but mentally I just needed another to mentally prepare for questions. What actually happened is that my colleges were so concerned about me, they let me approach the subject and comforted me. They have been a continued support network and I have been very open about my experience when asked. A few people asked why I had been off and I told them, it's made my recovery much less scary. X

StepAwayFromGoogle · 10/07/2017 22:03

Amy, huge hug. It makes me want to cry how quickly my DD is growing up. Can't imagine how it must feel for your baby to go off to school.

Pumbleton, you asked about Co-Q10 a while back. I've been on ubiquinol now for a couple of months and really seen the benefits from an energy POV. No baby yet but not trying until we get the green light from all the tests...
