Hi,

This is all very new to me so would like to make some TTC buddies :)

Let me tell you a little about myself:
Been with my SO for 2 years now and we're getting married in 31 days! I'm 26 (nearly 27) and my hubby2b is 35. We bought a house last year and feel like now is a good time to start a family!

This is my first cycle and I'm really excited but trying not to get my hopes up as seen that it's harder than it looks.

Any advice would be appreciated :) xxx

MummyG Yes it is really exciting :) Didn't realise quite how stressful it would be though! I don't think I was as emotionally prepared for this as I thought I was but hey ho :) I can test not this friday but the one after :) How about you?
And totally! Have you been obsessing as well? I went out for a meal this evening and managed to forget about it for all of 5 minutes haha xx

MrsJones Well hopefully we will be as lucky as they were :) It's nice to have someone other than DH to confide in isn't it? Kind of takes some of the pressure off.
Haha bless him! At least he's having fun :p
My husband (to be) is very much a realist and is saying that it might not happen for a while so let's just sit back and enjoy being more intimate. Personally I want a BFP and I want it right now!! aha

@Mrstobe90 I can test the 13th, so the same week as you. How exciting. I know it can be devastating if you get a negative test. Yes, Instagram is my best friend for looking at baby stuff 😂😂 my boys are 4 and 3 so we have gotten rid of all of our baby stuff so it's like starting from the beginning. Hubby isn't keen on having another baby but will because I want another really badly so he rolls his eyes any time I talk about it 😂😂 xx

Mrstobe90 · 03/06/2017 22:39

MummyG How sweet! They're so cute at that age! We're TTC our first so I haven't looked at any baby stuff yet as I don't want to jinx it but as soon as I get a BFP, I'll be all over instagram haha
I really want 3 as well but as DH was never definite on the idea of having children, he said he'd compromise and have 2, but I know I can get him to crack :p It's lovely that your DH is doing this for you! True love at it's best

@Mrstobe90 I had to work on him for a while before he said yes and we came to a compromise 😂😂 eeeek first baby how wonderful. It's so exciting all the firsts you will have 😍 yeah they are extremely cute but can be little monsters. Glad there will be a bigger age gap this time round. Noah starts school in August and Ruaridh starts pre school then too so ideal time for a new baby. When do you get married? Xx

YoureNotASausage · 03/06/2017 22:56

We we lucky to conceive a honeymoon baby and oh my god am I glad we didn't conceive the month before the wedding as I am so ill with my pregnancies, the wedding would have been a disaster!

McTufty · 04/06/2017 09:30

yourenotasausage

How soon did you start to notice you were feeling ill? I would love a honeymoon baby!

mrstobe

I am also consciously not looking at baby stuff as I don't want to jinx it.

I just downloaded ovia, does anyone have it? It wants me to put in my cervix position and if it's open Shock How am I meant to know?!

YoureNotASausage · 04/06/2017 09:32

My stomach started turning around when I was 4 weeks. Very bad sickness kicked in at 5.5 weeks.

FrowningFlamingo · 04/06/2017 09:42

For some reason I've looked at a few very practical baby things but not the fun stuff like nursery designs (we probably won't have one as we plan to move house in the next few months so theoretical baby would be in with us until we move anyway). I think I'm more trying to cost things up than properly looking though really.
Today's likely irrelevant 'symptoms' are that I had to get up early because I felt so sick - but I feel congested and have a sore throat so I maybe coming down with something. I cried about the London attack which is really, really unlike me - but I went to uni at London Bridge, DH works there and it's our most common route into London, we often go out there and were there Friday night at the same time as the attack took place last night. It's very much my stomping ground so feels a lot closer to home than other attacks which might be why I'm so upset about it. Ongoing cramps so maybe the tearfulness is early AF too. I'm due next Sunday so we'll see!!

YoureNotASausage · 04/06/2017 09:46

Actually the first symptom for me is often a headcold and sore throat. From about 2-3 wks. Your immune system suddenly tanks when you get oregnant do colds etc tend to come out.

Mrsjones17 · 04/06/2017 10:18

I tried ovia but found it too confusing. I could never figure out the cervix thing and I don't do bbt. I use clue app just to give a rough idea of fertility window. I'm now definitely out this cycle AF turns up in full force today. Onto next cycle I guess.

FrowningFlamingo · 04/06/2017 10:24

That's interesting sausage!
None of this pregnancy lark sounds much fun. Perhaps I need to reconsider!!

MissyEm · 04/06/2017 12:19

Mrsjones17 I am using Ovia, well as much as I can. There is alot to put into it, but I guess the more data the better accuracy of what the algorithms give back to you. I haven't done the cervix bit though. I have used OPKs as well and my predicted window prior to using them was about a week out. So we will see what happens for the next month.

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 04/06/2017 14:12

I started with a baby box- just a few things in the sale at John Lewis-but now they are blatantly hanging up in the wardrobe that will be the babies room! Lol. I don't plan to find out the sex of our baby once we have conceived so have gone for neutral baby grows etc. Every now and then I go in and have a little peak... so cute!! My DH thinks I'm bonkers 😂

Magpie24 · 04/06/2017 14:23

@TheLovelyOtherDinosaur that is sooooo cute! I would love to buy things but haven't yet... feel like I might be tempting fate as we already know we may have some fertility problems due to some treatment my other half had a few years ago. I did buy one tiny little stuffed toy though!!

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 15:53

MummyG how exciting! I bet it'll be so emotional seeing your big boy starting school!

OP posts:
Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 15:55

Lovelyotherdinosaur omg how sweet! As magpie said, I'm not getting anything yet because I don't want to tempt fate either. I've struggled on and off with my health and I'm on a few medications so I do worry that it may not happen, but I'm probably just being a negative nelly. It's all I want at the moment!

OP posts:
Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 15:55

missyem I haven't tried OPK's yet. are they any good? I've heard some people have problems with them?

OP posts:
TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 04/06/2017 16:07

Mrstobe Wow they sound like some really positive signs!! Wouldn't it be wonderful if you were carrying a bundle of joy!! Also a honeymoon baby would be equally lovely!!

Magpie I just couldn't resist at the time and just thought 'what the heck'. We got married in August last year and it's taken my DH a while to get his head around starting a family. He's a natural worrier and if it hadn't been for my gentle persuasion that all would be OK and that we would be in it together, he probably wouldn't have thought about having children. I think having the baby things around was one of my ways of saying 'it's time to step up to the mark... I'm serous about wanting a baby now!' It seemed to have worked as although he readily admits he's nervous, he seems quite excited too!!

McTufty · 04/06/2017 16:08

mrstobe

27 days till your wedding, that's so exciting! It's been 8 days since mine and I'm still on a high. Try to enjoy it in amongst the baby making, and if this isn't your month, at least you get to drink some of that alcohol you've bought for the wedding!

My 'symptoms': abdominal cramping, backache, headaches. CM has gone from clear to cloudy though not much of it (is TMI ok on these threads? Sorry if not!)

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 04/06/2017 16:19

Missyem and Mrstobe I am using OPK's too... Well trying but I have never had a truly positive result- just darker lines at other times than others do have put these in to ovia. The problem being is it's saying that I probably ovulate quite late in my cycle and I'm not sure if this is entirely true 😕 (Could be though) I'd be happier if I definitely had a positive.

The other thing is that I got the period planner app and through calculating my cycle length etc it's decided that I likely ovulate much earlier than ovia is suggesting so I'm really confused!! Luckily this month we dtd on the overlapping days some I'm hoping that will be enough!! DH says not to worry as his swimmers will have sorted it 🙈😂 and that people have managed to get pregnant for centuries without phone apps and OPK's which is very true!! Also we've just been on holiday for a week so I'm hoping that has also kept me nice and relaxed!!

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 04/06/2017 16:26

Mctufty some good old signs for you there too!!

AF is due 16/06 for me so I'm on a 12 day wait!! I totally don't 'feel' pregnant but I guess it's only early days. I'm thinking I'm going to wait until AF is due and if late, I will then do a test but if I got any symptoms like the above, I'm not sure if I would hold out!!

Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 16:30

Mctufty congrats :) the wedding planning goes so quickly doesn't it? We started planning at the end of August and we've blinked and it's nearly here! I have a feeling I'll blink and it'll be over just as quick.
And tmi is fine! We're all going through the same thing.
My CM around this time is normally quite thick but for some reason it's just clear and like water. so FX we'll get a BFP soon but trying not to get my hopes up as I don't want to feel too let down.

lovelydinosaur It's great that you're such a calming influence for your DH. He's lucky to have you!
Which OPK's do you use? I've heard the clearblue ones are meant to be pretty good. I'm a bit nervous about using them as if I don't ever get a positive, I think it'll make me question my fertility.

OP posts:
Mrstobe90 · 04/06/2017 16:32

lovelydinosaur mine is due on the 16th as well! Let's hope they don't show up!!

I have a ridiculous amount of symptoms but I just don't want to think about it. So scared of ending up devastated. I've read a lot about women who have all the symptoms and then AF shows up with a vengeance. I know it's only our first cycle but I know i'll be gutted if she turns up this month.

OP posts:
Magpie24 · 04/06/2017 16:35

@Mrstobe90 @TheLovelyOtherDinosaur good luck guys!! I had loads of symptoms but they turned out to be AF. TTC for cycle 2 will start tomorrow for me!
