Hi,

This is all very new to me so would like to make some TTC buddies :)

Let me tell you a little about myself:
Been with my SO for 2 years now and we're getting married in 31 days! I'm 26 (nearly 27) and my hubby2b is 35. We bought a house last year and feel like now is a good time to start a family!

This is my first cycle and I'm really excited but trying not to get my hopes up as seen that it's harder than it looks.

Any advice would be appreciated :) xxx

I'm with you googling the symptoms! I've had a really achy lower back today and been exhausted, and a really sensitive skin that burned when I sprayed sun cream on. I expect it's a bug from the different environment I'm in but I couldn't help but start googling and hoping it was me ovulating!!!

FrowningFlamingo · 01/06/2017 19:14

Literally the first two days we were trying I felt sick, had sore boobs and all sorts. So I know I'm just very suggestible and am resolutely ignoring anything that could be construed as a symptom. I'm pretty certain this won't be our month as we missed the first half of the cycle for various reasons but fingers crossed anyway!

Mrstobe90 · 01/06/2017 20:59

Yeh it's hard not to symptom spot. Currently have sore and HUGE boobs, sore back and discomfort in my stomach.
According to my apps, I'm most fertile now so just DTD and now have 3 massive pillows under my bum 😂 feeling so unsexy right now

It's soooooo hard, almost impossible almost... we all do it and it can't be helped. I'll be doing it again in a weeks time lol. I'm going to do the legs up rule too this time as haven't done that the last two months. I know it probably isn't the reason but it all helps xx

MrsC080815 · 01/06/2017 21:49

We are doing legs up, but I feel like such a wally 😂 the least elegant position, but hey - if it works!!

Mrstobe90 · 01/06/2017 21:53

Naomi it never hurts to try :) my legs are starting to go numb lol if I don't get pregnant off this, hopefully I'll get a 6 pack haha

MrsC it's so unflattering isn't it lol My thighs are so close to my face, I can see all the lumps and bumps? Trying to keep DH from looking at them by pointing out how big my boobs have got ahaha

Well you just have to really. I tried most of the anti emetic drugs but nothing really worked for me. I had to be rehydrated a couple of times - the nurse I spoke to was quite matter of fact about it and said that quite a few women are so sick they choose not to continue (and I do understand that.)
But I mean what can you do? I spent many an hour at work vomming into the bin/taking calls lying on the floor etc then eventually I was signed off at six months because I was really poorly and weak. My teeth and theoat are permanently damaged. I still have significant residual nausea 20 months on - I never lost that heightened sense of smell you get. I had no cravings - only very strong aversions to stuff. I couldn't drink tea for five months and I usually drink gallons of it.
Ds was a bit small but healthy and very strong. It's amazing really - they just take what they need from your body. It really took it out of me though - I'm only just recovered enough to start ttc again now. I find I spend two days after I've ovulated being sick , which sucks. I will be back on hormonal contraceptives as soon as I can!

My period is late but nonpositive test so I think maybe things are just still settling down after stopping bf.

Fingers crossed for you all!

Mrstobe90 · 01/06/2017 22:01

Oh my gosh, that sounds so horrendous! I'm sorry it was so hard for you! Glad your DS was healthy :) I hope you have better luck this time xx

Hi Ladies, my first post on here. I am pleased to have caught a thread early on Smile 1 month TTC 1 after coming straight off the pop. So not too sure if last month it was AF or not. DTD around OV time so now just waiting.

I am a terrible symptom spotter, it can't be helped, when it is something so exciting!

Mrstobe90 · 02/06/2017 09:37

Welcome :)

I think the excitement of being about to start ttc is getting to me! I have my last uni exam in a week and I cannot focus on studying, all I can think about is babies Blush anyone else having similar issues?

Mrstobe90 · 02/06/2017 12:44

Ijustgothit good luck with your exams! Try to focus on your studies if you can, because whether or not you're thinking about babies, it won't make a difference in when you get pregnant. Try to focus on your exams and then let yourself go baby crazy when they're all done?
Tbh I can't really say anything. The wedding is in 29 days but I've completely stopped thinking about it and am obsessing over whether or not I may be pregnant.
I never expected it all to be this consuming.

I totally agree Mrstobe90, on here when I should be working! We all deserve a little break don't we?!

Goodluck in your exams Ijustgothit! Try to focus and get in the study mode, it's just as important Smile

Mrstobe90 · 02/06/2017 13:39

It is so hard not to be baby crazy but at least we're all crazy together!! lol

My boobs have gone massive and I was wondering, is that a sign of ovulation?

I don't know Mrstobe but it could well be - dtd just in case Wink

When is everyone due to test or whatever to find out if pregnant? Is POAS the term? I'm new to this!

I have no idea as am just off the pill so no idea of cycle yet. I took my last pill on 18 May so just waiting for breakthrough bleed I suppose, which could be anytime.

Mrstobe90 · 02/06/2017 14:03

I'm due to POAS 2 weeks today! Soooo annoying though because I'm going to a musical festival on wednesday and want to know if I'll be able to have a few drinks or not. Going to do it sober just to be safe.

It may take a little while for the pill to get out of your system, so don't panic if you don't concieve straight away :)

Hi all, had some interesting advice from my doctor today which I thought I would share. Am on antibiotics for a chest problem and I asked if it was ok to take this and any other medicine while TTC. He said to avoid all medicine while TTC (except the antibiotics I'm prescribed and also paracetemol is ok). I take loperamide for IBS and he said on balance it was best not to take it, just in case I get pregnant! Does sound quite cautious...

MissyEm · 02/06/2017 22:08

So many 'signs' could be AF or OV is a tough one. I am due to test in a week, nervous and excited but trying not to think too positively so that I am not disappointed. I will do a few OPKs as well this month to try and track it a bit better.

Magpie24 · 02/06/2017 22:08

He also said no alcohol when TTC (but this is less of a concern for me because I don't drink).

MrsC080815 · 02/06/2017 22:48

Evening ladies 😊 just catching up! I am definitely baby obsessed at the moment, but as you say, think it's the excitement of ttc. Have been having cuddles with my 2 month old nephew this week which hasn't helped!! I am trying to make my not drinking not look suspicious, BIL was quizzing me for not drinking last weekend, although I've never been a big drinker!

It's lovely to share with you all. Have any of you think of any family/ friends that you're ttc?

Ijustgothit good luck with your exams!

Magpie hope your chest is ok - poor thing!

McTufty · 02/06/2017 22:55

I haven't told anyone because I'm so scared I won't be able to conceive and don't want people to know I am struggling as I will feel under more pressure! I have no reason to think I will have fertility problems but it terrifies me... is it just me?

MrsC080815 · 02/06/2017 23:00

Not at all. I feel the same. I know if we told anyone else I'd feel immense pressure, would be even more awful then if it takes ages or we can't for whatever reason!

MissyEm · 02/06/2017 23:16

MrsC080815 and Magpie24 that's a good about regarding alcohol, I thought the same about caffeine too. Not that I have much or either but have switched to caffeine free if it is going to help make it stick one day.

A friend and I have shared our joint TTC news, I hope we both have the joy as it will be hard and really sad to show happiness if one of us is struggling.

MummyGofboys · 02/06/2017 23:23

Hi ladies. Is it ok if I join in? I'm 29 and ttc #3. I'm on day 15 of a normally 26 day cycle. I think I am Day two after ovulation. Having cramping and spotting. I'm due to test in 12 days according to the ovia app. How exciting xx

Mrstobe90 · 03/06/2017 07:27

I've told my mum and best friend. I'm also scared I won't be able to conceive and have no real reason to think that either.
I think it's because TTC is such an uncertain thing, none of us really know what to expect!

magpie hope you feel better soon!

mummyg welcome :)
