Hi,

This is all very new to me so would like to make some TTC buddies :)

Let me tell you a little about myself:
Been with my SO for 2 years now and we're getting married in 31 days! I'm 26 (nearly 27) and my hubby2b is 35. We bought a house last year and feel like now is a good time to start a family!

This is my first cycle and I'm really excited but trying not to get my hopes up as seen that it's harder than it looks.

Any advice would be appreciated :) xxx

Hi everyone! this is my first time posting too but just wondered if anyone has been in the same situation as me. I'm 31 and trying for my first baby, I came off the pill at the end of March after a looooong time (about 16 years). I got a period at the end of April and a couple of weeks after that seemed to have all the symptoms of ovulation so we got down to it (a lot). I was expecting my period around the 28th of May but it hasn't appeared, I took a pregnancy test on the 30th (first thing in the morning) but it was negative. So still no period and tbh I don't really feel any different (which surely I would if there was a human growing inside me!) so I don't think I am pregnant, could it just be that my periods will take a while to settle down again is this normal (even thought I got one at the end of April)? I guess I should just wait and see if I get a period at the end of June?
Thanks!🙂

I've told a close friend (I don't really have a best friend :/). I couldn't tell my mum, she's so keen to have a grandchild that the pressure would be immense. And she'd keep looking at me in a sickly, smiley, excited way that would get on my nerves to be honest!
Having said I'm not going to symptom spot, this morning I've had horrible abdo pain just like a couple of days before AF, I hope it's somethung more exciting than AF as I'm not due for at least another week so it would mean my cycle has gone way off piste!

Mrstobe90 · 03/06/2017 10:03

thesky welcome :) It may just be that your cycle will be irregular for a while after being on the pill for so long, but if it hasn't come for another week or 2, I'd go to the doctors just to be sure :)

frowning I was a bit nervous about telling my mum as she's also desperate for a grandchild but she was less excited and more "If you don't fit into your wedding dress, I'm going to kill you" lol
I've had little twinges today and also worrying that it's AF but I'm not due on for another 13 days :/ lets hope we both get our BFP's this cycle :)

This video on instagram is all about different oils you apply around your belly button and they all have different functions, and apparently, rubbing olive oil or coconut oil around your belly button 3 times a week improves fertility. Probably a load of BS but I'm still going to try it lol

Ha! I'm kind of into that stuff too even though it's probably rubbish, been carrying around a moonstone for the last few weeks😆
Can't hurt I guess!

Mrsjones17 · 03/06/2017 15:52

Can I join in on this thread? I'm 29 been married for two years and TTC number 1. We had been trying for around 6months but then my husband had to work away for 5 (military) and now back on it! At first couldnt help feeling perhaps it was fare that I didn't catch with him going away but now I'm starting to feel like it's just not that easy! I've had a weird month. Thought we had DTD at the right time. Then sorry if tmi but had a very light in and off spotting/bleeding for past 5 days. Thought it must have been too long for implantation bleeding?! AF was due yesterday had cramping but still this weird light bleeding...took a test yesterday and BFN. If I am right about ovulation I should be 14 dpo today. If I had caught surely it would have shown by now?! I have no idea. Keep getting my hopes up thinking that full AF hasn't taken hold but I feel like it's only a matter of time!

Mrstobe90 · 03/06/2017 16:18

thesky oooooh I've got loads of moonstone

@Mrstobe90 @MrsC080815 thanks so much both, feeling a bit brighter! Disappointed to be missing the lovely weather today. Looking forward to the end of AF too so I can start on cycle 2!

MissyEm · 03/06/2017 16:47

Hi MummyGofboys,

Welcome. The countdown is on ! Smile so tempted to test early........5 days to go.

Mrstobe90 · 03/06/2017 16:51

Glad you're feeling better magpie :)

I've officially started the TWW and am reaching new levels of pathetic.
Playing The Sims 4 and my sim is pregnant. It actually annoyed me :'D

That's made me chuckle mrs :) do they still get morning sickness like in the original??

Mrstobe90 · 03/06/2017 17:19

Yeh they do lol! They throw up, constantly get hungry and pee all the time! haha But they're only pregnant for about 3 days. It's sad that a few pixels have it better than us Wink

OP posts:
Mrsjones17 · 03/06/2017 17:34

I'm not sure that I could cope with a pregnant sims haha! It's bad enough that we are the last ones out of our friendship group that haven't had a baby yet and the constant oohh are you trying yet?! I feel as soon as I got married my womb was suddenly the topic of conversation! 🙄

Mrstobe90 · 03/06/2017 17:49

Yeh I've had to turn it off! haha
And that must be really frustrating! Sometimes people mean well but don't realise that they're actually being insensitive. Try not to feel pressured. It'll only make things harder.
My best friend had a son who is now 5 but she's practically a single mum and even though she adores him, she finds it quite stressful so she's never asking when I'll have kids, she's more like "avoid them! They're crazy" lol

MummyGofboys · 03/06/2017 17:53

MissyEm hi, I'm dying to test lol but that would just be crazy 😂😂 11 days to go. what does TWW stand for? I may just be being thick lol xx

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 03/06/2017 18:02

Hi everyone.
I'm 33 and ttc #1 and on my first cycle. According to ovia I'm on my last few days of my fertile week. Eeek! Just been trying to dtd nearly every day (well at least every other!) for this past week and a half.

Just been sticking to vit d and folic acid as tried seven seas 'trying for a baby' in preparation before actively ttc and it sent my 'like clockwork' cycle completely haywire! It's much more settled now and I have seen on the forums that seven seas has done this to a few people and that GP's have recommended them not to be taken in this instance

I've tries OPK on and off but I can't seem to get a positive- I'm not able to do it at work so tend to test around 5-6pm most days and I know you can miss the short space of time when lh is detected but seen as though it's only our first cycle I'm trying to to get too hung up on these.
I'm also using pre seed lubrication which seems to have had some excellent results as per reviews so I thought it was worth a try.

Good luck everyone!! Ps my DH thinks he will get me pregnant straight away!! No worries he says 😂😂 I keep trying to tell him it is unlikely but he won't have it!! DH's are funny!!

MissyEm · 03/06/2017 18:03

Two week wait or two week window. Soooooo many acronyms I only know a few!

MissyEm · 03/06/2017 18:05

LovelyOther, your DH positivity is fabulous! I must goggle this pre seed..........

Mrsjones17 · 03/06/2017 18:09

When we first started trying I was convinced we would catch straight away...after all everyone rammed down my throat 'you can get pregnant after just one time after just one missed pill after being sick after anti biotics etc etc' the the past 12 years while I was on the pill. I was so careful for so long! Ive been off the pill for 2 years now and Now we're in a position where we actually want to get pregnant it's proving rather difficult!! 🙄🙄 It's so hard not to become obsessed by it and over analyse everything. There is way too much advice out there and knowing what to do for the best is tough. I feel like I'm 'doing all the right things' and it's not happened yet. I don't smoke I only drink rarely I exercise I eat well and have a lot of sex! Where am I going wrong haha!

Mrsjones17 · 03/06/2017 18:11

Oh and if one more person tells me I have to relax I think I may punch them!! It's impossible to! Haha! It is almost as bad as when my friend used to moan how much she missed her husband when we worked away one weekend a month while mine was in the middle of a 5 month deployment abroad! Agh!!!

MummyGofboys · 03/06/2017 18:14

Ahhh yeah far too many acronyms 😂😂 still having cramping but more on my right side today and so tired. I'm on day 16 and in early leuteal phase. I always got pregnant straight after coming off the pill. This is my second third cycle after coming off this time so we shall see xx

MummyGofboys · 03/06/2017 18:14

Third

Mrstobe90 · 03/06/2017 21:13

MummyG TWW means 2 week wait :) the period between ovulation and when AF is due (Or hopefully not in our cases)

MrsJones omg yes! My mum told me to relax today and I was thinking "are you serious??" lol. My mum was lucky that she got pregnant immediately with me and both my sisters so I think she thinks it may be the same with me. I really hope it is but who knows!
If I knew it would take months, I'd be ok with that. It's the not knowing that stresses me out!

lovelyother I really hope your DH is right and you get your BFP straight away :) he sounds great!

OP posts:
MummyGofboys · 03/06/2017 21:16

Mrstobe90 Oh fingers crossed we don't need to wait for another cycle. It's very exciting isn't it. When can you test? It is hard to relax about it and not have it on your mind 24/7 xx

Mrsjones17 · 03/06/2017 21:21

@mrstobe90 yes my mum in exactly the same situation. Fell straight away with me and my sister but she was younger than me and didn't have to think about giving up a career. She is very supportive though bless her. She is the only one that knows other than my husband that we are trying. My husband is the eternal optimist and is so laid back which does come in handy when i am wound up! To be honest I think he is secretly enjoying not catching as it means we have to keep trying haha!
