Hi,

This is all very new to me so would like to make some TTC buddies :)

Let me tell you a little about myself:
Been with my SO for 2 years now and we're getting married in 31 days! I'm 26 (nearly 27) and my hubby2b is 35. We bought a house last year and feel like now is a good time to start a family!

This is my first cycle and I'm really excited but trying not to get my hopes up as seen that it's harder than it looks.

Any advice would be appreciated :) xxx

@teaandshortbread sorry to hear that. Glass of wine for you tonight.

I'm at work and I really don't wanna be here. I keep nipping to the loo! Still nothing. I've checked my app and I'm actually day 41. If I'm late that means I'm 17dpo. Or this is just a long tortuous cycle! I feel so irritated I'm starting to think it's pms! Confused

Florence16 · 04/07/2017 12:29

Envious of everyone talking about having O'd! Having just come off the pill I'm worried that my body might not even know to ovulate anymore Sad can't really hazard a guess as to when my AF would be due because I wasn't especially regular when I was last off it a couple years ago. I guess I'll therefore roll with 28 days...Can just imagine my luck having a hugely long cycle and false hope building, which would be rotten. 28 days would mean 22nd July, so we shall see what happens!

Charchar23 · 04/07/2017 16:55

Aww no @teaandshortbread
Hopefully next month will be your month!! Just try not to overthink!
@lokelani have you tested yet???
@Florence16 , give yourself a few months as it can take up to 6 months to get a regular cycle again!
Best way of tracking ovulation is to look out for an egg white mucus. This mucus is fertile mucus around ovulation. Put some between fingers and pull apart, if it stretches like egg whites then chances are your at best time to try for baby!
Easiest thing to do is to Do the deed every few days so that you target the date of ovulation without being to concouious of the day if that makes sense? As sperm lives up to 6 days, it's the best way of targeting ovulation day! Plus it means your not focussing on DTD around ovulation only!
Xx

lokelani · 04/07/2017 17:57

Not yet. I went to boots at lunch about a Frer so tonight's the night! (If AF doesn't appear before then!)

Charchar23 · 04/07/2017 18:30

Well fingers crossed for you!!!
My AF is due today! So far no sign!!! Which is strange!!

HolyShmoly · 04/07/2017 18:56

fingers crossed loke and char
According to Clue my fertile window starts on the seventh. We've been DTD every day since Saturday and will probably keep going for another week. I know it's not necessary, but it's a fun habit to get into and can't hurt!
I'm trying hard not to get too into it, but it's hard to remain calm, isn't it?

Bumpkin21 · 04/07/2017 19:12

@lokilani fingers crossed for a BFP!

@charchar23 good news so far! :)

@HolySchmoly agreed. I told myself I wouldn't get crazy about it, but at the moment I'm checking and updating my Flo app about 15 times a day! Getting obsessive now, really need a distraction...

Also, interesting thing I found out - apparently you shouldn't take ibroprofen when TTC or up duffed, paracetamol is much safer. Little tip for you all!

lokelani · 04/07/2017 19:18

it's positive.

Omg. What do I tell DH who is having a lovely snooze on the sofa downstairs.

Bumpkin21 · 04/07/2017 19:24

Yaaaaaayyy congratulations! What amazing news!! You could just wake him up by prodding him with the stick you just peed on - sure he'd appreciate it!

Bumpkin21 · 04/07/2017 19:27

(Or wait until he's nice and awake, put a cool beer in his hand, and very gently explain the good news...)

lokelani · 04/07/2017 19:56

Yeah I just went in and said 'don't freak out'. After an initial state of disbelief and questioning how it happened so fast, he is really pleased!

It's so amazing to have this outlet to speak to. Thanks for the support. X

BubbleTee22 · 04/07/2017 20:05

Hi everyone :),

I'm a newbie who has just joined and am looking for some people to share my TTC journey with!

Bit of background, I've been married for nearly a year now but been with my husband since we were 14 :).

We have been TTC now for 8 months with no joy unfortunately.

I've tried ovulating testing some months, just trying other months, SMEP some months!!

Hoping it will happen really soon as we would like to have a baby before I turn 30 next year!

If anyone else is looking for a TTC buddy let me known :D

mrsweyms · 04/07/2017 20:33

Amazing news @lokelani - how exciting!!!

I mentioned to DH last night we should be DTD every couple of days and he didn't look too impressed. Don't think there will be much luck with me getting a BFP anytime soon!

Shanners123 · 04/07/2017 21:23

Hi Bubbletee and all you inspiring ladies! I am also new to the whole ttc experience. Just finished my first round with a resounding thump.. AF arrived today, 2 days early! Was planning on taking a test tomorrow but guess I can save that for next cycle.Confused
Bit of background.. I turned 30 in May, OH is 29 and we're both super keen to get a BFP now our lives are a little more sorted. Getting my head round everything to do with getting upduffed is crazy, harder than I thought!
Have just downloaded Clue app on the back of recommendations. Any other tips? Ladies who have got pregnant since this thread started at the end of May - did you do anything special that's worth a try?
Feel like a baby making sponge atm so all info is welcome Smile

BubbleTee22 · 04/07/2017 21:37

Shanners I'm trying SMEP again this month. Read really good things about it but just have to be consistent! I use pink pad app to track too, preferred it to clue :)

Bumpkin21 · 04/07/2017 21:42

@Lokelani great to hear he's happy with the news, and have a lovely evening together basking in all the excitement!

Welcome bubbletee and shanners!

Shanners - it took me so long to persuade DH to start trying that I've had months to soak up info and I feel like a walking encyclopaedia at the moment. (Time will tell as to whether I know enough to get a BFP!) So ask away! If you're unusually early and it's v light it could be implantation bleeding, so don't give up hope on this round yet!

HolyShmoly · 04/07/2017 22:08

bubbletrea what do you find better about the pink pad app? I don't really know what to look for in the apps so just went for the one I'd heard most about.

lokelani that's great news!

Maybe a stupid question, but is there a reason why you're meant to dtd every other day instead of every day? Other than the risk of exhaustion!

Charchar23 · 04/07/2017 22:20

Awwww yayyy!!!
See I told you @lokelani!!
Eeeeek so happy for you!!!!!!

lokelani · 04/07/2017 22:24

Thanks! A tad shocked. Not sure what to do now!

Charchar23 · 04/07/2017 23:04

I bet you are!! Haha!! I guess call drs to confirm and go from there! So pleased for you x

Bumpkin21 · 05/07/2017 07:20

HolySchmoly - I've heard it just doesn't improve your chances, as sperm can easily live for 2-3 days. So highest chances are if you DTD every other day, and doing it every day doesn't increase chances any further. Don't think it hinders though!

Shanners123 · 05/07/2017 10:21

Morning all! bubbletee you've inspired me.. Didn't know what SMEP was so been researching in work haha! Just drew up a plan for July. Let's do this!
Thanks bumpkin have you been trying for long?

Shanners123 · 05/07/2017 10:24

Also.. Question. Anyone used Pre Seed or conceive plus and thoughts on it??? Have been researching on Amazon but can't help but think so many of the reviews must be fake.. Is it a con?

Bumpkin21 · 05/07/2017 11:14

@shanners123 just started trying this month, but it's taken months of waiting until DH was ready, so I did a lot of research in the meantime!
Haven't tried pre seed but it's one for the list of things to try if the first few months don't work.

Magpie24 · 05/07/2017 14:07

Hi ladies. Loss of appetite for me today... could this be an early pregnancy sign? I do love a symptom spotting session!

Am approx 6/7 DPO although I'm not 100% sure when I ovulate.
