So in the absence of our lovely founder Hippy, I've set up thread #6 to help us keep up the motivation and PMA.

Congratulations to all our grads, the rest of us may be slacking behind but we'll be there soon!

hoping I think that FMU is just the most concentrated, so if you're testing early then it would be best to use that. But if you are pregnant and it's showing up on an OPK then I'd think that the hormones would be strong enough to how on a FRER?

OP posts:
hopingforabfp · 24/05/2017 11:20

Do OPKs show up later than HPTs then? It was FMU for the OPK. X

ArchiesMamaBird · 24/05/2017 11:22

Hmmmm I'm not sure Hoping, I'd go out and buy a few and give it a go. Maybe try one today after not going for a wee for a while, and if that's negative then try again with FMU? How many DPO are you?

OP posts:
hopingforabfp · 24/05/2017 11:23

10dpo archies

ArchiesMamaBird · 24/05/2017 11:42

Some of our grads got a BFN at 10dpo, but then a BFP a few days later, so it might be best to hold out for a few days if you can? (I have ZERO willpower so I wouldn't be able to Grin)

hopingforabfp · 24/05/2017 11:46

OVIA tells me to test on Friday. Not sure when to test myself x

notparticularlypatient · 24/05/2017 12:04

Thanks @Archies, I haven't tried raspberry leaf tea, but the two previous cycles I have been taking vitaminB50 complex. It's suppose to help, and last cycle I did at least not spot until 10 dpo. Will have a look, and also ask the specialist I'm seeing on Tuesday.

@hoping if you can wait, fmu tomorrow will probably be more reliable. Fx!

hopingforabfp · 24/05/2017 12:09

I think I will wait till tomorrow! Thanks patient and archies! I will buy a frer but only do it if the wilko one is a faint positive. If it's a def negative then I will wait a little longer x

CakesALot · 24/05/2017 13:32

@loababy you must be going doolally!! I also get very watery cm before af so maybe thick and globby is good?? Have you tested again?

@hopingforabfp I'm clueless on cervix position and opks I'm afraid. I'd defo be tempted by a test though! Fingers crossed for you hun!

MissMagpie · 24/05/2017 14:34

So sorry AF arrived Patient. What a blow. At least if you are seeing a specialist, steps are being taken to sort out any potential issues and you are therefore getting closer to your BFP month. PMA. It will happen.

Good luck hoping. If you can stand the wait, wait as long as you can. I have never observed my cervix's position so can't offer any advice sorry.

I became an auntie for the second time today. Very happy but it also slightly pains me that I have been trying longer than the whole time it took my SIL to conceive and give birth....

CakesALot · 24/05/2017 14:45

I feel your pain @MissMagpie. A good friend of mine came off contraception the same time as me and is due any time now with her second. I'm so excited for her but also irrationally jealous!! We will get our chance when the time is right though

CakesALot · 24/05/2017 14:47

But congrats on becoming an auntie again! I'm an auntie to 4 awesome kiddies and I love it. You get all the joy of spending time and being involved in a child's life without the responsibility!! And my DD adores her cousins. I grew up in such a small family that I love that there loads of us now. More love in my life!

ArchiesMamaBird · 25/05/2017 08:37

5dpo here and I'm afraid to say my PMA has taken a nosedive 😩 I had a sharp stabbing pain on my left side last night, and every time I moved quickly it felt like a pulled muscle. But I always get that before AF (not normally this early though). And then this morning I've had a bit of a temperature dip, so now I'm wondering what's going on and questioning whether I even OV this month (my temp normally stays high until AF who isn't due for another week) #wheresmypmagone #heeellllpppp

Morning ladies :))
Hope your all well on this beautiful sunny day ... it's about time we can get some natural vitamin D :)) #everylittlehelps :))

archies how's the acupuncture going? Are you having a set number of treatments or will you be keeping it up indefinitely?

hoping cervix position is a mystery to me too sorry I have no idea. Got everything crossed for you.

patient sorry to hear about af. Good luck at the docs though hopefully he/she will be able to help.

cakes you must be coming up to f/week - will you be opk'ing or just dtd as much as poss? I only used one opk this month, a boots one and got a positive (cd14) which was reassuring. I do like confirmation that I've ovulated but doing too many opks stresses me out.

loa how are you doing?

magpie congrats on becoming an auntie. I totally empathise with how your feeling, I've got x2 nieces and x2 nephews and although I love them dearly, I really can't wait to have my own.

sarahb how are you doing?

Well I'm off to the docs tomorrow to get my bloods tested and I'm very nervous about it. I've got to go back again when she who can't be named arrives which of course I'm hoping she doesn't, but I'm not feeling particularly hopeful this month so I'm fully expecting to have to go back. I then have to wait a week for the results, and I will actually be on holiday so I'm hoping I can call the doc for the results.

Xxx

Hippychic18 · 25/05/2017 08:54

archies looks like we crossed posted ...
Sorry to hear your Pma has taken a nose dive ... I'm sure I recall that you got a positive opk the same day as me so I'm sure you must have ovulated. I'm not able to temp so I don't really know much about it... but as we all say ... af symptoms are identical to pg symptoms and it's very early to be getting any af symptoms ... I know it's easier said than done ... but try and remain positive ... I'm sure your bfp is imminent xxx

ArchiesMamaBird · 25/05/2017 09:06

Thanks Hippy Smile I'm going to stop wallowing now! I'll see what my temperature does tomorrow, it might just be a random rogue one that doesn't make sense.

My acupuncturist said to just call her if AF arrives and then she'll give me a session around OV I think.

Good luck with your bloods tomorrow, at least if there are any issues then it should be highlighted in your results and they can work to sort them Smile

Hippychic18 · 25/05/2017 09:25

archies It is soooo easy to lose your Pma with this ttc lark. I think your right - it's probably just a rogue one. It was hot last night so you may have unknowingly kicked off the duvet and that caused the dip! :))
I think you can carry on with acupuncture throughout pregnancy - my guy says it can help with the pregnancy symptoms and labour. Interested to hear what your acupuncturist thinks.

Thanks, I'm a bit nervous about the blood tests but hopefully it will be good news and will put my mind at ease. #pma

Hasn't your dh got his sa booked soon? Good luck with that too.

Xxx

MissMagpie · 25/05/2017 10:41

Archies it's totally normal for PMA to take a dive. Especially when nature throws a curveball. Just try not to read too much into anything - open mind until there is some concrete evidence.

Now I am going to totally disregard that advice myself....
I am 7 dpo and still have really sore boobs. Have also been having period style cramps and that dull heavy feeling. I also really fancied a glass of wine, had a small one and actually could not stand the taste.

It is obviously too early for symptoms so I am not sure what is going on.

Do you think that there could be some effect of the early MC last cycle? Could my hormones be haywire?

I actually never re tested after my period because it was normal to heavy but it almost makes me wonder if I should.

loababy · 25/05/2017 10:59

@cakes I'm going to test tomorrow to see if I can have a boozy bank holiday! #priorities But I'm not having any symptoms.

@archies It's SO hard to get the balance between pma and being realistic. Try to relax (I know so much easier said than done)

@Hippy I'm doing good thank you, just cracking on like nothings happening haha - good luck for your blood tests

I keep thinking maybe I'll be one of those people on This Morning 'I didn't know I was pregnant until I gave birth' pregnancy tests were always negative hahaha.

loababy · 25/05/2017 11:47

and on the subject of PMA I'm feeling fantastic today, for no particular reason. So I would like to spread my PMA to all you ladies! The universe has a plan for us all, relax, breathe, do things you love, invest time with your loved ones and smile!! :) It WILL happen

hopingforabfp · 25/05/2017 11:48
