We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (BFP)

And everything in between!

We've had 8 BFPs since January (and counting!) and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Thanks jb yes it's a week tomorrow!
buzz that was a monster catch up, I still haven't caught up with everything!!! I can't believe u got that in primark, it's so adorbs!!! 💜 💜 💜 💜

Wiggleyfingers · 25/04/2017 06:29

First day back at work yesterday and it was a success! I'm having a huge diet overhaul in an attempt to increase AF as so far it's only been lasting a day or two and it's worrying me! I've upped my fresh fruit and veg hugely and attempting to have 3 meals and a snack every day. Fingers crossed it makes a difference. I have the doctors later about iron so I will bring it up too!

Buzz love the monster catch up! Can't believe that sleepsuit is Primark! Well done Primark with all of its gorgeous baby stuff. 😍

Hope you can get a scan today Jupiter and rest your mind. Keep us updated!

Have a good day everyone!

HeyJupiter · 25/04/2017 06:32

Thank you everyone for being just amazing and so supportive. Private scan arranged for this evening at 5:45. Feeling bit taken aback by what happened yesterday - it all went a bit over the top in the space of 5 minutes. Anyway having a scan can only be a good move - hopefully all will be well and I'll actually allow myself to enjoy this pregnancy a bit more.. or if not then we can deal with it promptly.

Sorry to worry you too buzz, although maybe a good sign if we've both noticed a change. I just don't feel very pregnant anymore (not so tired, no nausea, no breast pain) and it's disconcerting. Hopefully it's just normal and because the placenta is starting to take over.

On a more positive note the rest of the booking in went well. I've been deemed low risk so will be midwife led. I was worried that my joint problems (I have hypermobile joints) would change that but I've been offered the chance to refer myself to an obstetric physiotherapist later on which is positive.

Right will catch up on the thread now so I can read about all your news x

DancingUnicorn · 25/04/2017 06:41

Buzz I didn't know anything about chord donation until I started supporting Anthony Nolan. I don't think it's available in many places yet, so I'm lucky my hospital offer it. I got info sent from the scanning department, and a ridiculously old info leaflet about it with my notes!! I think even if it's offered at the hospital, there has to be someone available to collect it at the time you deliver. But, AN give you the most adorable 'born a lifesaver' baby grow thingy!!

I'm fine, had a colleague (who knows about my mc) moaning about maternity cover etc for a different colleague. I was totally bemused; clearly no thought involved. I assumed I was probably being a bit irrational, but when I told my oh he was mad too, and he's never mad!! So felt better!

Hope you get some answers wiggley. Maybe the low iron causes the short period? (Dunno if that's possible!)

Confused how are you doing? Have you told many extra people since your scan?

Jupiter really hoping the scanning place got back to you last night and you have something sorted for today. Will be thinking of you. 💜

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/04/2017 06:47

Hey guys I'm on the way to the airport now - meeting my super excited little sister there (well she is 28 haha). Thanks for all the support. I'm feeling ok about the flight. Going to miss DH and DD a lot! But looking forward to some SUNSHINE ☀️👙

Buzz and Jupiter my symptoms are way less now too and I'm 2 weeks behind you. Boobs only slightly sore, less tired, no nausea. I really wouldn't worry, hormones fluctuate all the time in pregnancy I think. Ovia told me that mini bean now has an umbilical cord! So that might be something to do with it. Honestly if it wasn't for mumsnet / internet we would not be analysing this so much. With my first pregnancy (back in the olden days of 2004) I didn't even feel pregnant at all. Boobs never hurt and didn't grow at all until the second tri! Never occurred to me to do more than 1 hpt once I got a positive either.

Will catch up on the rest of the thread later, hope everyone is well xx

Seven0fNine · 25/04/2017 07:30

Have a safe flight grumpy and a fab time xx (even though you're working)!

Love your big catch up buzz Where about's up North are you? Can't believe Primark sometimes, I always forget it exists! I just keep filling up online baskets then deleting them ha Blush

Wiggly Sounds good on the food front. I don't think I'm having enough fruit atm because I'm not supposed to have sugar on this diet I'm doing ...so will have to rethink it a bit!

Jupiter I hope everything goes well tonight xxx

MrsC so glad to hear from you and that everything's going OK. I get a bit anxious when I'm off too and that's without being preggo!

Young I don't think 11dpo is too late. You may of ov'd later than you thought. Fingers crossed! xx

JB1983 · 25/04/2017 07:35

Glad you managed to get a scan arranged so quickly jupiter.

wiggley good luck with the diet overhaul. Ovia told me that bananas help increase cm and lengthen luteal phase because of their B6 content. So if unsuccessful this month then I will be stocking up for those for next cycle.

Safe flight grumpy, enjoy the time with your sister and the sunshine ☀️

Enjoy the conference buzz. Can't believe that little outfit was primark. I didn't even know they had baby stuff.

People can be so insensitive dancing, especially since she knew about your miscarriage.

I've just looked outside and seen it's been snowing over night. Wtf!! It's almost bloody May!

Penguin27 · 25/04/2017 07:44

Morning all!

Glad you've got a scan arranged for later Jupiter, try to keep yourself busy today so you're not clock-watching!

Have a safe flight grumpy, and an amazing trip! I'm very jealous of the sunshine!

Jb snow??? That's insane! Although it is 4 degrees here in London too.

Young sounds like it could potentially be implantation... fx for you!

Buzz that was a mega-post!! Don't be a stranger! X

otters2017 · 25/04/2017 08:17

Morning all

jupiter glad you have a scan booked for today. Hope it goes well. Do keep us updated.

youngmunmy hope its implantation bleed and not the dreaded AF. Fx

buzz I love primark! Get so much good stuff in there and now I know there's cute baby stuff too ... hope your conference goes well

mrsC good luck with your scan. So exciting!

wiggley hope work's not too bad and hope the new diet works. Let us know what your doctor says about the iron

grumpy have a relaxed flight and a wonderful time in LA!

jb and tigger any symptoms yet?

MrsC2017 · 25/04/2017 08:23

Morning all!
grumpy eek enjoy the sunshine!! It's baltic here too!!
jupiter glad the scan is all arranged and hope it gives you the peace of mind you need!
dancing oh for God sake, people just need to get over maternity leave, it's a fact of life! That was very insensitive!
wiggly good luck with the diet overhaul, it all sounds healthy and positive so I hope it helps!
seven I think berries are a low sugar fruit, maybe you could do a few blueberries and raspberries?
Right off to drop DS to school and then off to work!!! Already dreaming of Friday!

charl19 · 25/04/2017 08:27

Hi all - sorry had a manic weekend and been totally awol! Been like reading a book catching up on it all!

Have a fab time away grumpy - enjoy!!

Jupiter - glad you got a scan for today, let us know how it goes, got fx for you. Smile

How's everyone else? Who is in the tww now?

X

HbH · 25/04/2017 08:29

Very impressed with the catch up buzz & that those clothes were primark! I was there yesterday to get a swimsuit for the spa but didn't cross my mind to go upstairs to the baby stuff!! #selfishmum
Yes, that's Willen Lake, i forget you're fairly local!! I live about two mins from there. Used to run round a couple of times a week but the kid didn't want me to run anymore so have to speed walk now! Hope you cope with your socialising binge!

jupiter SO glad you were able to get a scan booked in for today, still mad about the mw being all over the place, she should have referred you to EPU once she'd said it out loudConfused

Happy flying grumpy will be a laugh with your sis in tow!

Good diet plans wiggley .oooh confused I'd be interested to hear the other ingredients in your smoothie too please!

Unicorn 😡

Off to the spa when we can drag ourselves up (one at Center Parcs... meant to be good!) Was a Bday pressie from DH pre preg but hoping there's still a few things to do. Have a pedi booked, lunch, swimming and tbh I'm quite happy to read/snooze on a lounger for a large part of the day!

youngmummy3105 · 25/04/2017 08:37

Spotting turned into AF this morning so looks like I'm out and off to the May bus!x

buzzmoon · 25/04/2017 08:42

wiggley good luck with diet!
jupiter so excited you've managed to get a scan booked! Let us know how you get on ❤️ midwife rang me back this morning and said it's fairly normal and to give epu a call if I have any bleeding or pain so that's reassuring. She also said it might just be for a few days and come back soon so make the most of feeling better!
dancing I'd be so mad! That's so insensitive!
grumpy so jealous of your trip! Have an amazing time! It's so cold today!
hb so jealous of your spa day!! Enjoy! :)
I have to say out of all the shops I've looked in, primark had the best selection of neutral stuff! They had loads and all lovely things! I'll definitely be going back there and stocking up! You don't feel bad either cause it's so cheap!

buzzmoon · 25/04/2017 08:42

Sorry young! Fx for next month! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

DancingUnicorn · 25/04/2017 08:49

Boo! Sorry young! That sucks. :(

Hb love the centre parks spa! Hope you have a great day. I'm sure some of the rooms will be cooler. Day of napping on s lounger sounds perfect!

Grumpy hope the flight is ok. Fingers crossed there'll be some good films on for you.

The stupid thing is, no one at work will ever comprehend the level of guilt I felt/will feel about being pregnant and mat leave etc. Especially as my timing was pretty poor before. Not even sure I was really cross, was just a bit of a mind f**k moment!

Gorgeous sunshine across London this morning. Shame it's freezing!

youngmummy3105 · 25/04/2017 09:42

Thanks all! Fx for you! X

HeyJupiter · 25/04/2017 09:57

You’re all bloody lovely Flowers

MrsC so glad you’re officially telling people next week! I’ve told more people than I’ve let on to DH too.. oops. I’m sure your DH wouldn’t mind anyway. How exciting.

Dancing you weren’t irrational at all, what a stupid and insensitive conversation that you had to hear. Silly colleague. People are ridiculous about maternity leave aren’t they. Hmph on your behalf. I totally empathise with the guilt around maternity leave but really you are entitled to it and it is essential. I’m sure our guilt will pass the minute we see our babies. Are you still testing at the moment to see what your hcg is doing? Or are you going to leave it another few weeks?

Wiggley sorry to hear about the short AF but it might not be a massive issue? To be honest mine got a lot shorter once I hit 30…I usually get two full days of bleeding, then it stops and then I get spotting another 24 hours later. It used to be a 5 day event. My GP said it was just cycles changing as I got a bit older but also clearly hasn’t been a major issue. Every little helps though diet wise and things and supplements might help?

Good luck for the flight grumpy, how exciting to see your little sister yay! You’re absolutely right about symptoms. The thing is I can totally rationalise it and make sense of it but emotionally can’t catch up and feel better about it if you know what I mean? The internet is such a nightmare isn’t it as for every worry you find a million stories to confirm your fears but also a million saying the opposite. Must step away from google.

JB it’s been snowing here too! Madness. It’s freezing but sunny now :)

Hb so envious of your relaxing spa day!! Have a fabulous time and enjoy being pampered.

young so sorry to hear about AF, what a bummer. Hope you’re okay and being kind to yourself today? Flowers

buzz your midwife sounds very sensible and soothing! Thank you for letting me know what she said, that’s really reassuring. Trying to ‘reframe’ the scan this afternoon from a ‘oh god has something bad happened’ to ‘yay we get to see our baby’ type event, if you know what I mean.

Have a lovely tuesday all. It’s my day off so going swimming with my mum :)

youngmummy3105 · 25/04/2017 10:04

Jupiter: yes I'm okay, I expected it to be honest. Although it doesn't make it any better! I have got quite painful cramps at the moment but I am just going to hope that next month will be my month. I might buy some OPKs this month as I've never used them before so I don't really know my exact ovulation date. Any suggestions? X

HeyJupiter · 25/04/2017 10:28

Next month might definitely be your month young, have everything crossed for you. I used the clearblue digital dual hormone OPKs as they tell you when your oestrogen is rising (which tends to happen a few days before your LH surge which then signals impending ovulation) so gives you a wider window to DTD. They are quite expensive though. You can get internet cheapies that only measure LH and I know quite a lot of people on this thread have used those and probably have some recommendations :)

Mummyme87 · 25/04/2017 11:01

I'm in a taxi en route home now. So tired. I am never travelling economy over night again. It was so bloody uncomfortable and I hardly slept. I'll be plus/premium next time we have a flight like that.. first class would be amazing but that's ridiculous prices.. I did sit in the first class seats whilst waiting to get off the plane and they were amazing!! Very jealous!

grumpy have a great time in LA, hopefully it's not too tiring. I got your PM, I'll be in touch when you're home 😊

jupiter sorry you had a rubbish experience with midwife re EPU scan. Our EPU is a walk in service so we advise women to go there if you have concerns, bleeding, abdo pain, recurrent miscarriage etc, not sure how easy it is to book EPU scans if that's how the trust works.. I know it's an absolute nightmare to book scans in our scanning department as there is a very strict criteria for an USS to be performed. I hope you have a positive experience today with your private scan.

young sorry AF turned up. I recommend OPK not that I have had any luck yet but it makes sure you're focusing your BDing to the right time

Redpony1 · 25/04/2017 11:05

Oh work is so manic after having last week off!! Hope everyone has a nice Monday eve Smile

I'm CD13 now Seven so we are fairly close! Waiting because i didn't want to become POAS obsessed, just want to get a handle on how long my cycles are post-pill (took 64 days to get AF after Cerelle) and get used to my body after being on contraception my whole adult life Smile it turns out so far my cyles are 32 & 31 days so far...

Have a safe flight Grumpy!

Good luck for your scan later Jupitee & hope it puts your mind at rest Smile

otters2017 · 25/04/2017 11:35

Got my day 21 progesterone result which is 15 - needs to be >30 to confirm ovulation. Really disappointed. Hoping though that I ovulated late so the blood test is inaccurate. I think someone (can't remember who now) said your luteal phase remains the same even if you ovulate late. My app says I'm due AF next week so if I only ovulated at the weekend I hope have another 2 weeks. We have a holiday booked and would like to do some swimming!
Will try and catch up with everyone later. Just feeling a bit down about the blood results Sad

youngmummy3105 · 25/04/2017 11:54

I might buy some of the internet cheapies and try them to see then maybe buy the clear blue ones later. When do I test? How often? X

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/04/2017 12:11

Hey guys I have plane wifi! Virgin Atlantic is the best. I am in first class while my sister is in economy 😂 but she is young and doesn't have to work when we get there! Was anxious waiting for take off (we seemed to wait around for ages) but ok now despite a few bumps.

Sorry you had to fly economy overnight mummy that really sucks! Hope you had a great trip and look forward to getting in touch when I'm home ☕️

Otters I'm so sorry about the blood test results. Fx it is just late ovulation - you are on clomid right?

Jupiter best of luck for your scan this evening x
