We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (BFP)

And everything in between!

We've had 8 BFPs since January (and counting!) and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Hmmmmm, didn't spot first time that the 'Love' print looks to be made out of something biological... placanta too maybe?! The tabs are inoffensive tho!!

Wowsers is that the cord spelling out 'love'? That might be a bit far even for me. The tabs are quite cute though.. I'm going to investigate it further. Thanks for posting :)

DancingUnicorn · 22/04/2017 17:46

Me and dh just had an interesting conversation where he said he'd be fine with me eating the placenta, but less so in smoothie form. Assumed it would get fried. Then discussed turning if into pate!

I'm being brutal in my sorting. Throwing out ALL my notes from professional exams. I haven't needed them in the past two years..... I'll never need them, right?! About 20 full files of notes in the recycling!!

DancingUnicorn · 22/04/2017 17:48

Also, totally didn't know you could encapsulate them.

HbH · 22/04/2017 18:09

From what I'm remembering from my client, encapsulation is good because they can be taken over a period of time, eg. There are meant to be benefits for breast feeding and maybe even TTC#2?? Might have made that up tho... It wasn't on my radar when she started up and was giving it the big sell!!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 22/04/2017 18:26

Woohoo well done dancing! De cluttering is such a great feeling isn't it?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 22/04/2017 19:59

Urgh, feeling rough this evening. Around the same time I started feeling bad last night so wonder if it's a pattern. Carsick, acid heartburn and nausea. Bad gas. Had a very hectic day what with the midwife appointment and then went to my brothers housewarming BBQ. He made me a special mocktail, so sweet. Now at MIL's resting upstairs while everyone else eats dinner! Good job she's lovely.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 22/04/2017 20:05

Wow exactly the same.... It started about an hour ago. Now starting to feel a bit better, just like yesterday. Sipping camomile tea and reading mumsnet in nice cool bedroom.

confusedat23 · 22/04/2017 20:40

I'm glad the midwife appointment went well Grumpy

Ooo all this Placenta talk is very interesting!... i wanted to donate mine but you can't from our hospital but i looked and to provately freeze and store the blood and stem cells is about £2000... me and DH are seriously considering it as its a massive possitive in regards to childhood leukaemia!

Ive been struggling emotionally today... me and DH had an argument about the lack of help we will recieve from in laws in comparison to his sister... i then spoke to my parents who said they think its because we are planning on relocating to a cheaper area with my parents in 1-2 years time... and now its made me really sad thinking our DC are going to miss out on all our friends and family and we will be really lonely (not massively close to our family as i'm the middle child 😉 Lol) so now i just feel sad that moving might not be the right thing for us!

Mummyme87 · 22/04/2017 21:45

grumpy sounds like you are booked at my unit from your description 😊😊

I was going to do placenta encapsulation last time but I was so riddled with infection I couldn't. Supposed to increase energy levels, iron levels and reduce risk of PND.. may be anecdotal but if it works I'm up for it. Not into place to smoothies though

TheGrumpySquirrel · 22/04/2017 21:54

Mummy that's amazing! Small world 🌎 do you work in the birth centre then? Or the hospital?

Confused that sounds tough. Can you reconsider? Or is it just too tight with finances.

Feeling much better now, off to sleep 😴

JB1983 · 22/04/2017 22:01

I seen placenta encapsulation on a TVs programme recently and they were promoting it as an aid to lose baby weight quickly. I don't think there was much evidence behind this claim, just stories from ladies who swear by it.

Mummyme87 · 23/04/2017 01:37

grumpy I work mainly on delivery suite as as labour ward co-ordinator/midwife in charge and occasionally birth centre. Did community previously. What is the first initial of the midwife that booked you? They are all lovely in the HB team.. that's if you definitely are at my trust. Certainly sounds like it 🤔

TheGrumpySquirrel · 23/04/2017 07:21

Mummy that's so cool! Maybe we can meet up for coffee at some point Brew only if you want (I won't be offended if you want to stay online only!). The initial of the team leader who booked me is G. She was fabulous and very enthusiastic! The other two are F and M I think. It's called the Rainbow team?

otters2017 · 23/04/2017 09:30

Morning all

grumpy glad your appointment went well and sorry that you weren't feeling well last night. Are you feeling better now ?

I've not thought about what to do with the placenta. Interesting stuff. Must add to my list of things to read up on!

confused that sounds really tough. Support from family and friends is so important. Are you moving for financial reasons? Are there other options?

mummy and grumpy what a small world it is! Smile

jb any sign of ovulation? Are you still on EOD?

JB1983 · 23/04/2017 09:41

Hey otters well the OPKs turned negative this morning so assuming that ovulation happened somewhere between 20-24th but not sure when. Managed to DTD 7 days in a row but definitely going to have a break today and then one for luck tomorrow. Then the dreaded TWW. How about you?

How awesome would that be if you met in real life grumpy and mummy. I think I have in my head what you guys all look like so it would probably be weird seeing how wrong I am in real life, haha!

Aww confused sounds like an emotional day. Maybe it's a good time to weigh up everything and see if moving is really what you want.

DancingUnicorn · 23/04/2017 10:14

So think I probably ovd on thurs/fri. Dtd last night and was starting to get a teeny bit hopeful that there might still be a chance of catching it, until my oh pulled out last minute. Was a bit gutted. Guess I know I'm ready to try again now at least. Willing af to arrive early now!

Definitely a small world grumpy and mummy. :D

How are you feeling about things mummy?** I imagine it must be tough some days working with all the pregnant ladies.

Jb I'm so impressed by your dtd efforts. I don't think I'd be able to do it.

I think I'm going to try SMEP that Buzz (? Was it buzz?) sent me the link to. Going to find some opks online and keep my fx.

Hope people have a lovely Sunday. :)

DancingUnicorn · 23/04/2017 10:15

Wow. Bold did not look like that before I posted.

HeyJupiter · 23/04/2017 10:27

Dancing love the idea pf the brutal sorting. I’ve got so much paperwork from uni that really need to just dump. It’s all out of date anyway. Good work! Also how good to have a sign that actually you are reading to start trying again. Maybe next month!

grumpy I think there is definitely a pattern to symptoms. My sickness is always at the same time in the morning and evening and then I get a patch of about 5 hours in the afternoon where its much more bearable. The nausea has been much better though for the last 4-5 days though which is worrying me a bit… hmmm…can’t win can we :) So amazing if you and mummy end up meeting!

confused sorry you’ve had such a difficult day. Is the argument with your DH about whether to move at all? Are you going to be very far away from where you currently are? It’s always so difficult to know whether these big life decisions are for the best or not but guess you have to take a risk sometimes. Sorry it’s not feeling clear though Flowers

otters have you had your static CB face yet? :)

JB I reckon you’ve got it this month! That’s a lot of DTD-ing, your egg didn’t stand a chance of not being found Grin

Off to tell DH’s grandma the news today, she is 90 this year and I think she’ll be thrilled.

youngmummy3105 · 23/04/2017 10:31

Hope you don't mind me joining! I'm 10 DPO today, my cycles are around 35 days! Long!! I have a test in the bathroom but boyfriend won't let me test yet as it's too soon.. I am trying for number 2 also. I didn't try for number 1 so I'm new to the whole TWW and Symptom spotting. I have quite bad cramps, mainly on the right hand side of my belly button I was in quite a lot of pain with it yesterday. My boobs feel more sensitive than usual but I am still breastfeeding so I can't measure that accurately. My lower back is starting to ache. My legs have started to go really restless at night which is what happened the first time and I am weeing more often than normal. I use the OVIA app to track my ovulation and periods, this month is the 2nd month of trying and I am not yet tracking BBT or using OPKs. I am estimated to have ovulated on the 13th of April and my period is due on the 26th. Fertile window: 9-14th and I had sex three times during my fertile window which was on the 9th,11th and 14th.

Hope we all get out BFPs soon! xx

Tigger83 · 23/04/2017 10:52

Morning all lots to catch up on you chatty lot! Well I've had positive opks since my ovulation pain so god knows what that means but we dtd the day before ovulation pain, day of ovulation pain, missed a day then this morning so I'm hoping we've got it right😳

DancingUnicorn · 23/04/2017 10:58

Ee, Tigger that sounds positive. Really hope it's worked for you.

I am now utterly confused. Was convinced the pain I felt was ov pain. But just did a hpt, and there's a faint but real second line. Is it possible to ovulate with hcg still in the system? :( So who knows.

Hi young. Sounds like some potential symptoms for you. Fx for your bfp!

youngmummy3105 · 23/04/2017 11:04

Unicorn yes I'm hoping so and I feel nauseous a little bit but no where near as bad as the first time round. I don't know if I'm just imagining though as it's a bit early for symptoms isn't it?

Mummyme87 · 23/04/2017 11:50

grumpy definitely my lot!! G is amazingly fabulous.. I've known her 12years, worked with her loads. You're in safe hands. Definitely would be up for coffee. Such a small world!!

tigger FX you caught your egg. I guess your first cycle might be a bit out of sync

young your symptoms are early pregnancy symptoms but I can't offer advice on symptom spotting as every month since I have been TTC I have had pregnancy symptoms.. apparently they are all pre AF symptoms!!

DancingUnicorn · 23/04/2017 11:51

OPKers - Any recommendations? What kind of sensitivity do I need to buy?
