We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (BFP)

And everything in between!

We've had 8 BFPs since January (and counting!) and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Welcome to our lovely grouping yummymummy! You're symptoms sound very promising. I came off the mirena coil last year and convinced myself I was pregnant for a couple of months after and that somehow I have ovulated just before removal and it had implanted after. Sadly I wasn't Sad apparently it's quite common, it's called the Mirena Crash?! But it sounds like you're in with a good chance if you've been dtd since! My cycles returned to normal straight away!

Grumpy at lease you have the awareness that you're being hormonal! You're growing a human, it's allowed.

Dancing I love a good salt scrub! Sounds wonderful, enjoy!

I agree about the mass meet-up. Imagine how lovely it would be with all of our tiny ones. To be honest, you guys know more about me than some of my closest friends at the moment! It's hard not being about to talk about our plans to ttc, but I don't want the added pressure of people speculating when the time comes.

youngmummy3105 · 23/04/2017 20:05

Wiggley I've never heard of that but someone has given me some Angus castus to see if that helps, it's supposed to be a herb to help you ovulate or something I don't know

Penguin27 · 23/04/2017 20:06

Sorry you've been feeling grumpy, grumpy Wink you're definitely allowed, it's hard work growing a human!

I think a RL meet up would be great!! Unlike others, I'm rubbish at imagining what people look like so it would be nice to put a face to all these names.

Parastars · 23/04/2017 20:22

Love the NYC pics mummy it's definitely on my bucket list!
You sound excited to start ttc Dancing I'm loving your optimism!

Has anyone been taking iron supplements? My bloods came back post surgery as possible anaemia but have been clear since I haven't been pregnant so was definitely a preggo thing. I bought some iron vitamins today in the hope to try and combat that for next time. Anyone else have anything similar?

DancingUnicorn · 23/04/2017 20:31

Yeah, had a pretty good weekend para. Feeling a bit more chilled and positive. Though I know I will be utterly terrified if/when I do get a real bfp. Still, it feels like I am actually doing something ATM, getting ready for next cycle. Any signs of af for you?

No idea about iron. Would it be something they can test for when you get your bfp? I think someone else had low iron though... (hb?) probably more use than me!

Salt scrub was amazing. May have to buy more of it. I keep touching my skin now though.

When is LA grumpy? Will you get much time to chill out, or will it be really work heavy?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 23/04/2017 20:46

Hey guys, been manically doing my housework since I got in from my appointment now finally having a rest while DH cooks! No sickness tonight yay.

Dancing I fly on Tuesday 🙈 it's going to be pretty full on but I'm there over next weekend and my sister is with me so at least at the weekend we can chill. The first few days are a conference so at least I'm in one place for a bit (jet lag bit!). Then the following week I have two days of meetings and then flying overnight to New York to work from our NY office wed thurs fri.. giving abbig presentation and then I fly home to London on the Friday night! I'll be 8+6 when I get home on the sat morning.

I think it's going to be very tiring but am gonna just take 1 day at a time and try to tackle the jet lag first. It's 8hours behind us. Planning to sleep 8pm-4am LA time so it's not too much of a shock. But I might have to do 6pm-2am the first night.. no idea how I'm gonna stay awake until 2am/4am uk time.. I'm normally asleep by 10! I'll probably be wittering away on here at odd hours!

otters2017 · 23/04/2017 20:47

I found an opk in the drawer so poas and it was negative. I don't know if the urine is too dilute or it's too late in the day (looked normal colour) I've had 5 days of flashing smileys on CBFM and this negative today. Does it mean I ovulated yesterday? We have dtd ed except one over the last 7 days. My emotions are all over the place. I feel so desperate and the waiting is going to kill me! Help!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 23/04/2017 20:49

Otters don't worry it sounds like you DTD plenty!

Dancing glad you are feeling positive. I understand the terror.. and feel bad for you guys who are having potentially two first trimesters in quick succession .. I know it'll be worth it x

Parastars · 23/04/2017 20:55

Otters definitely sounds like you have covered all bases! I have my fingers crossed for you! Hopefully the 2ww doesn't take forever.
Nothing as yet Dancing but it would be too early for af if I did ovulate Weds. I guess I'm in the 2ww myself, but this time I have nothing to wait for as we avoided dtd over ovulation. So ready for it so we can start ttc again!

Wiggleyfingers · 23/04/2017 20:56

Para I went to donate blood the other day and they refused to do it as my iron levels were too low! Who knows what's going on?! My pee-conception vitamin contains 100% of my daily intake of iron so not sure what's going wrong. I'm going to the GP on Tuesday so I will let you know what they recommend. It does explain why I'm always cold and tired though. 🙄

Parastars · 23/04/2017 20:56

Grumpy your job sounds very exciting and glamorous!

Parastars · 23/04/2017 20:58

Thanks Wiggley I'd appreciate that. How bizarre that still showing low even though iron is in your vitamin? Who knows what goes on in our bodies!
I don't really feel cold, but I do get dizziness that was worse when I was pregnant. I was also so so so tired but just put that down to early pregnancy but I now wonder if some of it was because of my low iron levels.

confusedat23 · 23/04/2017 21:04

Thanks for the words of support ladies!... Jupiter the argument was about the way Mil has spoken about supporting us with the baby in comparison to what help they provided Sil with help for DN and probably what they will provide her for no 2... i can't put too much on here because its so outing!

We decided to tell my DPs that we would move with them because they are so willing to provide help and support plus if me or DH don't start earning more its going to be harder and harder for us to live in london (and the area is becoming really scummy). But i just don't think we can depend on my DPs tbh when i last moved away i maybe heard from them once a month and that was at my effort... also i worry about us being lonely and its over 5 hours away so not easy to pop back all the time!.. i told all of this to DH earlier today and he agreed that maybe it isn't such an amazing idea and we will have a real good hard talk about it once DC is here and the move gets closer (at least a year away atm). It feels better knowing we are both on the same page and i'm not just being a hormonal crazy preggo lol

I cannot believe its Mummys unit Grumpy... could you imagine if you deliver the baby Mummy that would be epically awesome! Lol

Sorry about faint line Dancing could it have been a dodgy test?

Tigger you sound like you have everything covered!!!

Otters i had that on my successful cycle but i just ov'd late! I was going crazy on here because i thought it was broken lol

Grumpy what time is it in LA when you land? Remember passport control and baggage reclaim etc always kills a few hours in the US and then you need to get to your hotel and stuff so of you keep busy you will stay awake! When me and DH went to Vegas we still hadn't got over the jet lag before we came home! We were having naps from 1-3 every afternoon lol and i must have been the only 22 year old sleeping on the sunbed in the pool parties! Lol

Para i would suggest trying to include as much iron in your diet as possible... i'm anaemic but since being pregnant i have had to stop taking any iron tablets as they gave me horrible stomach cramps and the midwife told me they need to to manage it by Diet for now so like smoothies in the morning using spinach and orange (important to help absorb the iron) and just eating smart generally =)

I would love a mass meet up!

Parastars · 23/04/2017 21:10

Thanks Confused I have bought spinach for my salads this week and am definitely more conscious of trying to build up my iron levels. I think if I try taking the supplements and see how they go. It might not be the same issue next time I get pregnant anyway, who knows.
I hadn't realised the importance of vitamin c for the absorption of iron until I had read a bit about it. Plenty of red pepper and oranges in with my spinach then! I also love steak so just an excuse to eat that once a week (and enjoy it rare while I can...but hopefully not for too long!)

HbH · 23/04/2017 21:13

para 🙋🏻 Tis moi with low iron. Was picked up on the booking in bloods, but wasn't a surprise, I'm vegetarian & tend to run a bit low! I got prescribed like 168 tabs so am cracking on with those along with trying to up the dietary iron. (Hard cos the best sources are meat!) I'm pretty sure pregnacare contains some iron so if you're on that it might be enough for now? If not, I'm sure a supplement can't hurt!

Sorry about your ovulation confusion Otters I don't know too much about OPKs but really hope you can get some answers through your blood tests next week Flowers

grumpy hope you had a lovely mani/pedi! Trip sounds full on but i think if you're busy it'll take your mind off things and time will fly!

DancingUnicorn · 23/04/2017 21:24

Grumpy that sounds like a gruelling schedule if you weren't pregnant! You can do it though. And if you're tired you can blame jet lag so to not raise any suspicion! But yes, just a day at a time! And we we here for ranting if needed!

Otters so annoying. Maybe if it's an old one it is out of date? (Dunno if that's a thing!) Are you able to keep up the eod?

Yeah, I desperately want to catch again, but I'll be honest the idea of 4 months out of 6/7 being first trimester (ignoring the first 4 weeks) isn't filling me with joy. But, it WILL be worth it. Guess there's no guarantee I'll catch as quickly this time...

Good to get all the info now wiggley so you can start ttc full of knowledge and can do whatever you need.

Sounds like such a hard decision confused. It's a long way to move, but London is really expensive. And a shame if your area is getting worse. I'm lucky enough to be in an 'up and coming' area. It sounds like you and dh are on the same page though and there's a long time to make your decisions. Re your mil, is your ail your dh's sister or his brother's wife? I think sometimes boys don't get the same kind of attention with children (not through experience, more heresay). Sounds a bit crap. Hopefully it irons out for you.

Parastars · 23/04/2017 21:45

Thanks Hbh 🙋
I haven't been taking pregnacare, just folic acid and vitamin D. Bought an iron one today as well but might end up switching to pregnacare anyway just for ease!

otters2017 · 23/04/2017 22:15

Thanks for all the support. All of you are just amazing. A mass RL meet up would be awesome! It's such a tough journey and there's not many people I can talk to about this IRL. I feel a little calmer now but still worrying and wondering. Time will tell so just need to be patient ... easier said than done!
I'm going to try to get an early night. Good night x

Penguin27 · 24/04/2017 07:42

Morning all Smile hope you all have a lovely day!

Sorry about the low iron levels para, it sounds like you're doing the right things with the diet and supplements.

Grumpy your schedule sounds hectic! As you say, just focus on one day at a time and you'll be fine. We're here if you need to let off some steam.

Tigger83 · 24/04/2017 08:17

Morning. First proper day back in work today, spent most of last week working from home. Well my opks are dropping now so fx we caught the fertile window. 3x over 4 days should be ok right? I know the egg hadn't released when I had my scan. So I guess I'm back in the 2ww lol

DancingUnicorn · 24/04/2017 08:57

Hope work is ok Tigger. Take some quiet time if you can and need to! Sounds like you did everything you could to catch the egg! Will keep everything crossed for you!

Hope you managed to get a decent night's sleep otters. It's definitely not an easy journey. So much waiting and unknown. Be kind to yourself. Have you got anything nice planned for the wait?

Hope everyone has a nice Monday. Can't believe we have to work all 5 days this week!

HeyJupiter · 24/04/2017 08:58

Morning everyone!

Sounds like you’ve got a good plan for tackling the tiredness grumpy, really hope the flight goes okay. You’re very practiced after the last few weeks so you’ll be fine.

otters if the OPK is negative then chances are you O’d over the last few days - you’ve DTD loads so you’ll be fine. Welcome to the 2ww.. :)

confused really glad that DH is on the same page as you so you can work through those anxieties together. Sounds like a really tricky situation. Hope you’re okay.

Tigger welcome back to a 2ww. Have everything crossed for you my lovely. Sounds like you DTD-d plenty.

Just about to leave for my booking in appointment. Have been struggling a bit with anxiety of the last few days (nausea has tailed off, boobs definitely less sore) and convinced myself something has gone wrong. I know that’s irrational but am looking forward to talking to a midwife about it. The internet is so full of horror stories. I really need to calm down a bit. Woke up at 3am and my breasts weren’t sore at all and then lay there for two hours fretting about it. Literally cannot wait for my 12 week scan and some reassurance there is actually something in there.

Have a good day everyone.

DancingUnicorn · 24/04/2017 09:13

Sorry you've been anxious Jupiter. It's such a difficult time. Hopefully the midwife will be able to reassure you today.

Penguin27 · 24/04/2017 12:36

Hope work goes well tigger.

Sorry you've been feeling anxious about your symptoms Jupiter, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about although I know that probably doesn't comfort you much. Good luck with your booking in appointment today!

Today is feeling slow... I'm planning to have a very professional meeting with a colleague this afternoon... in the pub! Grin

Redpony1 · 24/04/2017 12:48
