Does anyone else use there heart rate monitor on there Fitbit to monitor when they have ovulated? Saw a post on here recently where someone was but can't find it now. Been reading up on it thought it would be interesting to see how many of you guys did?

Could someone decipher mine please?

Started period 22nd April, finished 26th April.

Could someone tell me when I ovulated?

And also, I have no idea what I'm looking at, it's pretty much all over the place!

angryladyboobs · 05/05/2017 21:34

This is my October one. I had period 4th - 8th and ovulated 22nd (used opk that month)

flossyfloss · 06/05/2017 07:03

Ahhhhhh Ndo I'm so happy congratulations!!!! I'm so glad I posted on this thread!!! It's the luckiest thread ever!

Will your due date be 13th jan?

My period is due tomorrow - my chart is still good and today's test is much darker Smile

Tentativesteps133 · 06/05/2017 07:11

Yippee ndo that's great news!!! High fives all round and thank you to the makers of Fitbit lol. I did a clear blue digital just now and it said 3+. I have an appointment on Wed so hopefully the doctor might be able to help with dating.

Ladyboobs what I see from your charts is a steep decline in HR the week before your period which I guess we can call week 2 of the TWW. If the theory holds, your HR would stay up or get higher?

ndo4000 · 06/05/2017 07:13

Thanks so much!! Am half excited and half bricking it!!!!

The theory definitely works. Who do we tell?!?

Angryboobs sorry not to reply last night about your chart. I am a bit confused by your chart, but trends I looked for was a peak of HR at or just after ovulation and then my HR went down as I approached AF. Maybe look back over past months just looking for trends of peaks & troughs? Not sure if that helps?!

dangle90 · 06/05/2017 08:21

YESSSSS just came on to see how it went Ndo! I'm sooo happy for you!!!! So glad I made the thread!! Now all of you get your asses on my January 2018 ante natal thread! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Angryboobs your chart also confuses me a little, like ndo said try scroll back through and see if you can notice a pattern similar to anyone else's x

ifeellikechickentonight · 06/05/2017 14:24

Yes ndo!! I was actually thinking about you this morning! Congrats!

angryladyboobs (love the username btw!) I think the HR spike for ovulation comes slightly after ovulation, similar to how BBT rises just after. From what I can find online it's the raise in body temp that causes your heart rate to increase. So from your April chart it looks like you ovulated maybe 12/13 April? Does that sound right with your cycle? If AF started on 22 April it sounds like you must have ovulated a little earlier than that though. I suppose the increase on 15 april could be due to increased stress perhaps, or if you had alcohol or took any medication, or any of the other reasons for increase in resting heart rate other than ovulating

angryladyboobs · 06/05/2017 14:44

I'm on cocodamol, metformin and duloxetine so would that change HR?

ifeellikechickentonight · 06/05/2017 15:29

Maybe angryladyboobs I think cocodamol can slow heart rate can't it? But I'm not a pharmacist/ doctor so I don't know much. Fitbit is a very unreliable indicator of ovulation and pg tbh because a Fitbit isn't a medical level of accuracy anyway so could be out by a few Bpm, plus there are so many things other than O that can impact your heart rate. Lots of us have been able to identify O and pg using Fitbit but it's not an exact science and we're all using other methods to determine O like cm, opk, bbt anyway, plus there's probably an element of observation bias! So I wouldn't worry

angryladyboobs · 06/05/2017 21:01

I think it speeds it up tbh as when I'm not on it my RHR is around 68-70

Thanks for advice though

flossyfloss · 07/05/2017 08:58

My period is due today so I'm now 4 weeks pregnant 😀 lovely cb test this morning and my heart rate gone down one beat but I'm not stressing about that.

I can't believe I'm actually pregnant!! It's taken us so long to get to this point!

ndo4000 · 07/05/2017 09:00

Yay!!!! Floss!!!! Huge congratulations!!!!!!!

What a lucky thread!!! I almost feel like we should continue with the thread through our pregnancies? Anyone up for that? 'Fitbit babies'?!

flossyfloss · 07/05/2017 09:04

Fitbit Babies! Love it 😀

ndo4000 · 07/05/2017 09:11

Shall I start a new thread for us?

juneybean · 07/05/2017 10:10

Ahh well done to the BFPs can we see your graphs to compare??

I'm 9dpo but also on honeymoon as of 3dpo but my heart rate has gone from rhr 59 to rhr 68. I'm sure heat and walking around the resort has had an affect but can't help get excited!

Tentativesteps133 · 07/05/2017 10:16

Congratulations floss!! I'm definitely up for a Fitbit babies thread Grin

juney a honeymoon baby would be lovely - not long til you can test so fx for your HR to stay up...!

ndo4000 · 07/05/2017 10:34

Fingers crossed Juney!!!

Here is my HR chart as of today. I only got my bfp yesterday, so very early days. No idea when I ovulated but it was meant to be around the 22nd.

If you have a scroll through the threads, you will see lots of uploads charts.

Let us know what happens!!!!

juneybean · 07/05/2017 10:48

Thanks ndo

I was a bit worried as I temped until 3dpo as didn't think it would be reliable in the canary islands haha but my heart rate only went up after ovulation but others seems to go up prior to ovulation.

dangle90 · 07/05/2017 13:25

I'll deffo be up for a Fitbit babies thread GrinGrin I want us all to be able to chat still and compare symptoms! X
