Hi all,
I was just wondering whether anyone might be in the same boat as me and can offer some advice/success stories?!

My DH and I have been ttc for several months now without any success.
Unfortunately my cycles have been really irregular (ranging from 31 days to 51 days) since coming off bcp last summer.

I have tracked ovulation and I do appear to be ovulating on my own but to add a big spanner into the works, it looks as though my LP is only 9/10 days.

I can find a lot of info about short cycles with a short LP, but not so much on long cycles with short LP. Anyone able to help?

I think at this stage I'll know if it turns!! Plus it's head is massively obvious. They'll do a scan pre section to double check though.
Be warned the last bit has flown for me after a slow 6months!
Excited but also apprehensive about having two!!

CatMum87 · 14/03/2018 12:15

How quick has that gone.... 30 & 37 weeks already wow!! Can't quite believe I am 28 weeks tomorrow too.

How exciting that you'll be meeting your little ones in just a few weeks time however they decide to come into the work! Have you been trying all the tricks to get bubba to turn around?!

Quite looking forward to entering the third trimester although my legs are already so bloated so I'm not sure how they are going to fare over the next few weeks! and i think i desperately need to invest in some maternity gear!

Have you started your maternity leave yet (assuming you were working before)??

boatrace30 · 14/03/2018 13:56

I know! It really has. Today I was booked in for a section on 28th March so 2 weeks today unless there is a late turn, or it comes early!!

boatrace30 · 14/03/2018 13:56

and I'm working till the end of next week!

Bows85 · 14/03/2018 15:35

Gosh - all our pregnancies are coming to the exciting part! How did that happen?!

I'm not convinced my baby is going to turn, think it's quite happy tucked up in there to want to make a move! If I'm right, it will be here in less than 2 weeks 😱 Scary, but I can't wait!

Maternity leave has started for me (well, I'm on annual leave at the moment and mat leave starts officially next week) and it's lovely! Have had a couple of texts from work asking how I am which, although they're just being kind, I just want to switch off from them! My replies have been very brief in the hope they will leave me alone 😂

Maternity gear is a must. I've lived in my Topshop maternity jeans (which makes them well worth the money, IMO). My New Look under bump jeans are only worn in an emergency - they're a bloody nightmare. Always falling down!

Hello ladies- just checking in to see if we have any updates?!! @bows85 @boatrace30 @cinderrose :)

Bows85 · 29/03/2018 11:13

Hi @CatMum87

Yep...I have an update...

I had a baby girl at the weekend 😍 Ended in a c-section but she arrived safely and we've been settling back at home for the last couple of days.

She's an utter dream and we are all completely in love with her!

How are you?

OP posts:
CatMum87 · 29/03/2018 11:33

Ahhhhh!! Huge congratulations!!! Grin

A little girl- adorable. Glad she is here safely and hope you are recovering well. Bet it is such an amazing and surreal feeling!

Did you have any idea you were having a little girl?!

I'm well, starting to get some pelvic pain which is rather uncomfortable but third trimester so hey ho on the home straight!

Cannot believe babies are now arriving....who would have thought eh!!

Bows85 · 29/03/2018 23:57

It's fantastic that the babies are now arriving! And how weird. I've just looked to see what date I started this thread and it was 27th March last year. Who would have thought that a year later we would all be in this amazing situation?!

I don't know whether I had a feeling it would be a girl or not. If I'm honest, yeah - I probably did but maybe I didn't want to admit it!

Ooh, 3rd trimester goes fast! Once you start counting the days down until you finish work, it flies by!

If you're getting your pelvic pain, that is surely a good sign that baby is in the right position and getting ready 😍

cinderrose · 30/03/2018 12:20

Oh @Bow85 a baby girl Grin

boatrace30 · 30/03/2018 17:52

Huge congratulations @Bows85 and yes I have news too!
Another baby girl for the thread - born on Wednesday.

Also a c-section as she stayed breech. We came home after one night though and so far so good.

DD1 is very excited about the arrival and DD2 is doing super well and has taking to feeding far better than her older sister did!

Hope the last straight goes well @cinderrose and @CatMum87 . The third trimester is definitely the quickest!!

Bows85 · 31/03/2018 16:54

Hi @cinderrose

Eek, things are getting close for you too!
We had a list of names - both boys and girls - and had a top 3 for each. There were some names on the list that were a bit of a passing phase, but it's worth noting down so you have something to work on.

Although we had favourites, we still went through all the names we had on the list when deciding what to call her. It's a big decision! In the end, we both admitted that there was a name we wanted to call her as soon as we saw her. Luckily it was the same one 😂

Congratulations @boatrace30 So exciting that we both had girls!

OP posts:
CatMum87 · 31/03/2018 21:02

Yay congratulations @boatrace30!! Hope you are recovering ok and getting used to your expanding family! We have two baby girls on the thread Grin

Good tips about the names @bows85. Me and DH have boys names but no girl names what so ever that we both like! We've downloading some app which is a bit like tinder for baby names, swiping one way if you like the names and then it let's you know when you get a match....now just to get DH to use it!!!

What a crazy year eh Smile xx

boatrace30 · 31/03/2018 22:00

We had two names for girls and couldn't decide which way round to put them. I don't mind saying they were Alice and Elizabeth. For half an hour she was Elizabeth then we had a change of heart and made it Alice and then DD1 came to visit and we both felt pressure to tell her her sisters name so it was Alice. I've been having doubts ever since but it's announced now and don't think we can change it and think I'd have the same doubts if we'd gone the other way.
Was so much easier with DD1 where we had the name sorted before we even started TTC!

seven201 · 31/03/2018 22:03

I have just read the WHOLE thread as I'm ttc for number two and sometimes have a short luteal phase. I had an early miscarriage last month, so that's promising. I'm going to leave my b6 in the cupboard but continue vitamin c after reading all of your experiences.

This thread is just so so lovely. Congratulations to you all, new mums and mums to be. Enjoy the newborn snuggles.

seven201 · 31/03/2018 22:04

Alice is a lovely name

Bows85 · 01/04/2018 00:48

Ah @seven201 I am so pleased you've written that! I think everyone who contributed to the thread hoped that it would offer some hope and promise to others in the future.
Good luck with your TTC journey Thanks

Hi ladies!

I'm very happy to add the first baby boy to the thread! He arrived ahead of schedule but is happy and healthy and we are both doing well! Can't believe he is here and how much life has changed in the past year :)

You're next @catmum87 how are you feeling? X

CatMum87 · 27/04/2018 09:34

Ah huge congratulations @cinderrose :D . I bet you are feeling over the moon right now. Glad he is healthy and hope you are recovering well.

Can i ask how early he came? The reality is starting to hit me now.. I met my sisters baby at the weekend and it definitely hit home that this little alien wriggling inside me is an actual baby and will be with us soon!

Hope you are all enjoying motherhood! xx

cinderrose · 27/04/2018 11:14

Hahaha, I know exactly what you mean. It has totally boggled my mind that this perfectly formed baby was inside me. Almost doesn't seem real.

My little boy was just over 5 weeks early. Thankfully I've recovered really well, though the stamina required to keep up with a tiny baby is something else!! My top tip... pack your hospital bag, or at least have an Amazon prime account 😉

Bows85 · 27/04/2018 16:41

Wow!! Huge congratulations @cinderrose That is such lovely news!! And 5 weeks early? Yikes! Were you still working?

It's amazing, isn't it? It's hard work but so worth it.

Can't wait to hear what you have @CatMum87 Smile

CatMum87 · 01/06/2018 19:57

Hi! We had our little girl two weeks ago today!! Long story short I was induced at 37 weeks as they thought baby was small. She arrived safely into the world at a dinky 5lb 7. It's been such a whirlwind and it's bloody hard work! Not sure I've slept more than a few hours each day since but she is adorable! Hope everyone else is ok!

Bows85 · 02/06/2018 21:08

Wow!! Congratulations @CatMum87 another little girl ❤️

That must have been scary being induced early, but at least she arrived safely. I wonder what weight she would have been if you'd gone to 40 weeks...probs a bit bigger!

They thought my bump was small throughout and she was very difficult to measure on the scans but it was just how curled up she was! She came out at 6lbs, so only just on the small side of normal.

Ah, it's such lovely news. I'm over the moon that it all worked out. Hope you're coping ok - it's a whirlwind! We're 10 weeks down the line and I just can't remember life without her Grin

boatrace30 · 13/06/2018 07:49

Congratulations @CatMum87 ! Can't believe we all have babies now!

Hope your tiny one is doing well! Mine also a bit on the small side (though comparatively large at 6lb13oz). Quite pleased though as she's my second and last. The small baby stage is lasting a little longer!
