Long cycle / short luteal phase

Hi all,
I was just wondering whether anyone might be in the same boat as me and can offer some advice/success stories?!

My DH and I have been ttc for several months now without any success.
Unfortunately my cycles have been really irregular (ranging from 31 days to 51 days) since coming off bcp last summer.

I have tracked ovulation and I do appear to be ovulating on my own but to add a big spanner into the works, it looks as though my LP is only 9/10 days.

I can find a lot of info about short cycles with a short LP, but not so much on long cycles with short LP. Anyone able to help?

@CatMum87 - do you think you've definitely ovulated?

Yes two bfp's but cannot bring myself to believe it.

I didn't even think I'd ovulated let alone had a chance at conception.

boatrace if it was you that mentioned the dip last week being possible implantation you must have been right.

Am I being daft thinking I should still wait for these blood test result to come in?

Of all the times I could murder a gin and tonic!

@boatrace30 i got a positive opk on Wednesday and a negative one yesterday, so I think I may have/may be ovulating. Although I woke up with the worst cold ever this morning...not sure my body can do both- ovulate and fight a cold!!!!

Interesting what you said about earlier ovulation on certain months- wonder if it could be to do one with ovary working better than the other, no idea

That's great that you arent spotting ye....it could well be your cycle, 9/10 dpo means there still room for a bfp to appear.....and it not well you have the wine next week and chlomid to look forward to :D

@Sundaylunchhappy - yes you are daft, you definitely ovulated!! (I mean that in the nicest possible way!) 

@CatMum87 Fingers crossed for you. And yes I am feeling okay about it as have something positive to look forward to. Xx

And, I have a feeling about this cycle for you @boatrace30 I think it could happen. You're still early to get a BFP. Remember I got a bfn at 11dpo (I think) and didn't get my BFP until 13dpo! There's still time!!

@CatMum87 great news for you too! We're all in the tww together at the min!

@Bows85 - thank you that is reassuring. You hear of so many bfps early on it just makes you think it can't possibly happen if you get a bfn!
DH also has "a feeling" hoping you are big right. Either way at least a my LP isn't any shorter!

Super super early days (I think 3wk+4) so could very easily go wrong.

Oh ladies I don't think I've ovulated after all 😦....had a bit of ewcm this evening wtf! I'm thinking that maybe I tried to burn having this cold stopped it in its tracks. Oh jeez we've dtd the last 6 nights...never going to want to do it again after this 😂 xx

Hmm catmum, it definitely is possible to get some ewcm after ovulation. If it's just an isolated 'incident' you might be ok. Are you temping?

p.s. Looking forward now to a dtd break (ssh, don't tell DH!)

Have you taken an OPK @CatMum87 ? I think you can get some ewcm after ovulation, our bodies can throw some curve balls into the mix! See what happens over the next couple of days. It would be very annoying to have to get back on it again after the effort of 6 nights in a row 😂

I go on holiday for a few nights first thing tomorrow morning which might help me not test early. I think I'm due AF some time between Sunday and Tuesday so Wednesday would be the first day I would feel I could test. I'm not holding out much hope though. Don't want to get my hopes up. At least if I'm away, I can forget my sorrows if AF shows.

I actually sent @CatMum87 and @boatrace30 private messages when I got my BFP last time as I was worried about announcing it here. Luckily @CatMum87* saw the message but @boatrace30* I think you must have missed it! (You need to be logged in the website rather than the app to see private message in your inbox). So if a miracle happens, keep an eye out on your in box 😂

Also - meant to ask @boatrace30 ... any symptoms?

Oh, @Bows85 , I did miss that. I'll keep an eye out from now on. I never think to look and rarely go on the website. Sorry.

In terms of symptoms, very gassy and bloated, have had a dried out nose on and off (that was an early symptom last time) but that's about it.

Oh and I also think the cold/flu symptoms I had a few days ago are related as I read that is relatively common around implantation time.

Lol, not quite yet, I was really happy yesterday and today feeling just a little anxious as it is sooo early. I was 5wks when I found out with DD, 3weeks feels too early to be sure. Xxx

Today was meant to be my test day but dh has given me a talking to about no amount of tests in addition to the ones I've already done having any swing on how this pregnancy turns out.

Anxiety city here, cramping like it's going out of fashion!

I'm testing every day to see if the line gets darker! I just took delivery of 20x tests 😂
Don't worry about the cramps. I had them throughout pregnancy xx
