Are Superdrug's tests known for their evaps? Pic included.

Took a test this morning and a pink line came up within the time limit. It was with very concentrated urine thanks to my mild hangover of rosè last night

I did another a FRER work this afternoon after many cups of tea and water and it's a stark BFN.

I wonder if the Superdrug one was an evap.

Any experience or opinions?

Not that I'm disbelieving chemical pregnancies! Just that I think a duff test could be the reason sometimes.

🙋🏻 I'm in the dodgy superdrug test club too! Did a test yesterday morning and got vertical lines in both windows but also a horizontal streak through both, so did the second test and no line in either window... total dud!! No exactly cheapo either fir a non branded, tut tut!

I had the exact same problem 2 days ago got faint bfp on a superdrug early response test today iv done a first response and it's clearly negative.

This is my first one out the case. I did think it was too strong/pink for it to be a false.

But the FRER was negative yesterday.

So you turned out to be pregnant HbH?

That was two days ago for me too holzy.

Where abouts in your cycle are you? I feel like AF is coming and I have spotting but nothing real so far.

Everyone raves about FRERs but with my last pregnancy all the cheap brands (including internet cheapies that you buy by the bulk!) were positive while the FRERs all showed negative for days.

Your test looks positive to me. Good luck!

I'm not sure where abouts I am as I have pcos my periods are all over the place I have an appointment at the assisted conception unit on Wednesday and was hoping I wouldn't have to go...

I think Superdrug were just about the only brand I didn't use, sorry.

I think all brands probably have the same amount of people online complaining about false results, you're just seeing the Superdrug ones as you've gone looking. They won't be any more unreliable than any other brand I bet. So please don't assume it's wrong!

I also had what I thought were period pains and thought my period had come early as there was blood when I wiped a few times. But those cheapy tests were right.

I like me a Tesco test. Though I'm sure many would disagree. Weird how we end up with favourites.

I'd say wait and test in a few days but I know it's hard to wait until you need to pee again, never mind days later!

It is hard isn't it! I have a Tesco test in my drawer but the box said it works from the day of your missed period and I'm not due on for a day or two.

Conversely for those who had lines on Superdrug test, after a quick Google the FRER is 12mIU and Superdrug is 10mIU so that could explain it....

I've always found superdrug ones way more sensitive. With my DD I had negative FRER but positive superdrug ones - she's now a happy toddler!

Hormone levels increase every two days or so so maybe try again tomorrow.

By surely by then it would pick it up? I will be 12-13dpo....

Are you sure you're not having chemical pregnancies? If ever used a LOT of pregnancy tests and never one had an evap.

I'd be tempted to agree with missclark - pink dye tests are usually seen as pretty damn reliable (unlike blue eyes like CB which I wouldn't waste my money on)

Hi I hope you don't mind if I jump in but could anyone tell me what you mean by blue lines and pink lines is there a difference. And fingers crossed sillysausage x x

Definitely not a chemical pregnancy. I always get evaps, I get them on SD, CB, IC's and FRERS.
But the difference is, if I get an evap on one make it will only be that make. All the rest will be BFN.

Also, I've seen the progression of people's chemical pregnancies. Going darker over the days, then going lighter then AF appears on time or a day or two late.
I've never had anything like that.

I was going to get a new test tomorrow but AF is well on her way. More spotting and much dragging pain. I get pain in early pregnancy but not like this. This is genuine AF pain.

sophie tests use different coloured dye. Some pink, some blue. Clear Blue and Tesco use blue dye, First Response and superdrug use pink. That means the line or cross will be pink or blue.

Oh yeah sorry i knew that, I just didn't know if the blue or pink was more sensitive than the other x x
