We also dtd on day 18*

Tee4me · 28/03/2017 11:28

Are your cycles consistently 28-29 days? As in is it reeeeally unusual to be longer? If not it could be that you are ovulating late? Otherwise if you are like me and can pretty much set your watch by your period, I probably wouldn't worry too much. I sometimes get ewcm in the 2ww, it can be a sign of rising estrogen (impending AF) or I have heard it being a sign of pregnancy, so to me it's a fairly neutral symptom.
If you are ovulating late, it's a shame no DP today, but your DTD dates are still great and should cover you, especially if you DTD tomorrow too?

Tee4me · 28/03/2017 11:31

It also could be that you're mistaking leftover swimmers for ewcm? You've DTD so much, I would say this is highly likely! I definitely notice more when there's been a lot of 'action'!

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 28/03/2017 12:12

Hi tee4me yes they are between 28 and 30 days. It just seemed odd to have ewcm spread out of over 4 days. It will so frustrating if I have ov late despite our best efforts I would have missed the ov day. Not much i can do about it now however. The last month was day 15 I had EWCM.

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 28/03/2017 12:13

Thank you for your reply @tee4me xxx

Tee4me · 28/03/2017 13:01

@Mamabooksbabynumber2 I often wonder if ewcm can hang around sometimes and come down late? I definitely wouldn't count it as the most reliable way of determining ovulation. I have definitely experienced ewcm after ovulation (I have a history of tracking OD with opks and bbt).
Have you tried using opks? For me they are the best way of pinpointing OD. I generally get my peak test the day before I ovulate (in the past it's been confirmed by a temp rise the following day).
I definitely wouldn't rule out the leftover swimmers theory either.
I think your DTD dates are still really good? Ovia rates 2 days before ovulation as your peak in fertile day... lining them up in advance is definitely a great strategy as they can live for 5 days. It's obviously a bonus if you can keep going to be fully covered. Is DP away? No chance you can see him today?

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 28/03/2017 13:33

Thanks @tee4me I was trying to avoid the opks so I don't get too stressed about ttc. But of course that's difficult when all we all want is to get pregnant asap.
Yes dp is away for work tonight and won't see him till tomorrow evening however at cd20 it feels very unlikely that I have ov so late. When the absolute latest I've had af was cd 30.

Tee4me · 28/03/2017 13:48

I find the opks keep me more relaxed funnily enough, as I feel more confident about ovulation timing, which is a comfort.
I think you can relax, your work is done!! Good luck in the 2ww!

EPO ladies, I know I should stop the supplement after ovulation, but should I take it on ovulation day?? Any ideas?? x

Londonjam · 28/03/2017 14:12

I'm the same with OPKs tee

Hope you've caught it mama

Footy1 · 28/03/2017 15:11

I would take it in ovulation day too tee.
I'm on metformin still. Been on it for 4 weeks now. Called the clinic and they say that if I've only missed one AF I can start straight with clomid. Clomid thins the lining anyway so it's probably better to have a thicker lining. So on day 2 now of clomid.
That book is really good, i did get a bit obsessed and took all the vitamins it talks about! Was rattling. Take as and when now.

Mama- EWCM I get a lot too. Not sure if it's the proper EWCM ! It's just clear and slippery, possibly a late drop of swimmers. Just dtd when he gets back to cover all options. My ovulation varies from cd10-25 or non existent so I just have to dtd plenty to cover all chances.

Lovely time to move home jam. Hope it goes smoothly. You christen your new rooms Wink. Fingers crossed for you..xx

DuRezidal · 28/03/2017 21:19

So tomorrow morning I have my second early scan where they would expect to see a heartbeat and I am so nervous.

At 5 weeks they just saw a sack and a yolk, so I am feeling quite worried that there will be nothing changed. I had pink spotting for one single wipe of the tissue on Sunday night then absolutely nothing after that.

Still having the usual twinges and cramps every so often that I had with my first pregnancy.

physicskate · 28/03/2017 22:01

Oh good luck durez. I've got everything crossed for you!!

CD 12, so I've got awhile yet til ov. Still some mixed emotions. Work is going reasonably well, I think. Not loving teaching as much as I used to... so not really sure what I'll do about that in the long run.

EPO taken until ov (so including ov is fine), but not after. I've got some left, might take it next month. I already rattle.

I hope the clomid works better for you with the metformin too foot!!

Footy1 · 28/03/2017 22:36

Durez - will be thinking of u tomorrow for scan. Hope everything is ok.

Hi to the grads x

Mimi/nim how are you?

Had a real busy day today so my mind hasn't really been on anything. Just thinking that it's odd that I haven't felt many twinges like I usually do, it's like my body has gone to sleep. Taking Angus castus, EPO, raspberry leaf and wheatgrass with the metformin and clomid! What a combo?! Not sure how my tummy will cope.. anything worth a try. Hmm
Might throw a couple of Brazil nuts in for good measure.

Footy1 · 28/03/2017 22:39

Kate, sorry to hear the teaching job is not what you think u want to do. Most of my teacher friends seem to have left once they have children. Think they found it too much.
Would u consider a change in career?
Hope u are ok, and getting your body full of nutrients. Do u exercise? Maybe a gentle jog would energise you and make u feel better. Running helps me x

Tee4me · 28/03/2017 22:57

Jam so exciting about your house move! Really hope it's a double celebration on Friday. If not you can get christening all the new rooms during your next cycle! I'm already thinking about next FW, we're away for 2 nights in celebration of our 10 year wedding anniversary! Hopefully focusing on that will take my mind off the 2ww this time. Think I ovulated today. Have to stop thinking about how much much I want it to be 'this month' every month. Wish I didn't feel the pressures of time,
So are you technically on a new cycle Footy? Hope those drugs kick in this time. Did you ever dabble with ubiquinol? I definitely want to try this as well as the epo, but hoping for recommendations on dosage and if you take throughout the whole cycle. Also heard some take flaxseed oil to replace the epo during LP, so might try and pick that up too.
Kate sorry to hear you're not feeling fulfilled at work. Motherhood completely derailed my career, I packed it in after my mat leave with DS and retrained in a new field which I could practice flexibly, from home and on a freelance/part-time basis.
DuRez wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow, let us know how you get on! Looking forward to hearing that you discovered a strong healthy heartbeat! x

DuRezidal · 29/03/2017 09:59

The scan showed a good sized embryo with a strong heartbeat... so relieved.

Like my previous pregnancy there was a small bleed site so that explains where the spotting has come from.

Tee4me · 29/03/2017 10:45

Hooray!! That's awesome DuRez! x

Tee4me · 29/03/2017 10:54

I'm joining the rattling gang!!
Have just ordered 5mg folic acid (which is like 2000% rda!) and 300mg CoQ10 (ubiquinol). Will take those with evening meal, my aspirin and epo at lunch, and I don't want to dump the seven seas 'trying for a baby' multi vit because of all the extras, so I'll have that for breakfast 😂 It also includes 0.4mg folic acid, so I'm hoping it's not harmful to be taking on soooo much folic acid?! I read it's one of those vitamins your body will just dispose of naturally if there's excess, but if anyone knows different, do shout at me as it's a massive jump in mgs!

Londonjam · 29/03/2017 11:24

Great news durez

Teaching seems so tough Kate my mums a deputy head and I've seen how it takes its toll. She still finds it rewarding though - I hope the satisfaction of seeing kids progress helps balance out all the crap and stress

Thanks for the congrats tee I'm not sure about too much folic acid... where did you get ubiquinol? It's quite expensive on amazon

Tee4me · 29/03/2017 11:46

It was actually eBay Jam, I was a bit nervous purchasing from there, but the prices were so much better, and I chose a retailer with loads of feedback. They are by 'vitastore' and the eBay seller was 'vitastore-uk'.
m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Co-Enzyme-Q10-300mg-BUY-1-GET-1-FREE-FREE-DELIVERY-/262714851018?var=&hash=item3d2b067eca%3Am%3AmglhgQW2UZcwsZaipiP0QfA&_trkparms=pageci%253Aaf4f69f9-146c-11e7-ab87-74dbd1802067%257Cparentrq%253A19aab21715b0a25076eb06affff787f9%257Ciid%253A2&varId=561645067064

Tee4me · 29/03/2017 11:53

The book you recommended couldn't speak highly enough about this supplement, and it seems particularly important if IVF is on the horizon as it's very much about helping produce the highest quality eggs...

Londonjam · 29/03/2017 12:00

Thanks for the link and pic hon

Footy1 · 29/03/2017 13:44

Tee Yes I did dabble in the coq10 back in may/June but when I started clomid I stopped as far too many pills to remember! Grin
I have a jar of - 300mg. Got it from Amazon. I took 3 a day!
I did have a cp month or so after.
Think you can't really take too much folic acid as your body only can absorb so much. So there's no harm. Not sure if related but I found it made my nails grow faster and good hair. ? Might just be lack of housework Wink

Are u all packed up jam?

Durez so pleased for you Smile you must be so relieved. X

Mimilicious013 · 29/03/2017 17:55
