I did use Poundland ones twisted 5 sticks in a pack for £1 😂 I had some positives but ironically in the month I caught, I didn't have a positive once, only squinters, but they give you a rough idea!x

Twistedsister7 · 19/03/2017 11:52

I'll give them a try I think because it might help me figure it out at least. Might splurge next cycle if no BFP this one x

JellyBean89 · 19/03/2017 13:12

According to Ovia I should be on my period so I tested and got a BFN.

In the 10 months I was on the iud my cycle lasted 15days, Ovia still has that setting so that's why it's predicting a period. I think now I'm off the iud my cycle is gong back to its normal 28days.

mrsjkerry · 19/03/2017 15:29

Yeh I'd wait the full 28 day cycle jelly. But still, if the symptoms continue I'd be inclined to think positively...

Hi Ladies

How are we all doing? I'm still here lurking and reading just trying to not post too much. Unfortunately my zen like month has achieved fuck all and I'm still very much not pregnant! I think I would be able to take a BFN better if it wasn't marked by the start of another fricking period, it's like some sort of sick joke from Mother Nature 😡

Sorry to all those who've been had by AF this month, and FX to anybody still in limbo xx

Mamaready · 19/03/2017 20:23

Hello, is this the right place for first timers TTC?

Marie90 · 19/03/2017 20:42

Sorry that AF showed up tessapop Sad

Twisted i brought some cheapy ones from eBay... Been using them this week and had a few V.light squinters but no positives. Got lots of ewcm the last few days so i know its around my FW atm... Hoping they will show a strong positive in the next day or two! There's no way i could afford the clear blue ones atm though so i had to make do with the cheapy ones 😶

And PassMeTheWine i know what you mean! I was so pissed off when AF showed up the other week... It's hard to stay positive when your feeling rubbish and your body keeps reminding you that there's Another cycle to go! Hmm
I hope this new cycle is a lucky one for you!!

And Welcome Mamaready! You've come to the right place 😊 everyone here is a friendly bunch and i think we're pretty much all first timers!

ttcnovice · 19/03/2017 20:46

Hi mama definitely the right place Smile welcome!

Pibbee · 19/03/2017 20:55

Hello all and welcome @mamaready! Sorry to those who have been got by AF (including me!). Hope all have had good weekends

ReturnofSaturn · 19/03/2017 21:14

Hi Everybody!! Can i join in? Just starting TTC for the first time.
Bit messed up this month however as my period is a few days late. Took a First Response pg test on Saturday and was negative however. I did only have unprotected sex twice in the last month though so wasnt really expecting to get a positive.

Anyone any ideas why my period is late though? This rarely happens. The only difference i can think in my life is that i started a new job a month ago after not working for 4 months. Could this affect it?

Marie90 · 19/03/2017 21:22

Hi returnofsaturn welcome to the group! How long is your cycle usually? I had a random long cycle last month which i put down to a bit of stress... Could your new job have caused it maybe? If AF hasn't shown up in a day or two maybe worth taking another Pg test... Hcg is supposed to double by the day in the early stages of Pg so could be that readings were too low to detect? Fx for you!!

And mamaready have you just started TTC? What part of your cycle are you on? 😊

ReturnofSaturn · 19/03/2017 21:56

Thanks for the reply Marie90
My period is usually the same date each month. I know Feb was a short month too.
Could be stress/tiredness from new job I suppose. I have been very tired.

Probably not worth testing again. I tested with a first response after missed period and I know how good they are.

Mamaready · 20/03/2017 08:36

Thank you! This is only my second month trying & currently mid cycle... so trying this week!

Marie90 · 20/03/2017 12:15

Mamaready you sound similar to me.. I'm on cycle 2 and in the FW atm. AF due April 3rd but Fx she doesn't arrive this month!! 😶

Marie90 · 20/03/2017 12:29

Also...

Does anyone else get ovulation pain? I realised I get it most months about a year ago.. dull pains to one side of my foof (sorry... I can't call it anything else lol), and a bit of lower back ache. It always coincides with ewcm and is mid cycle.

This morning though i was woken up by it at about 4.30am. Really painful on my right side, and lower back ache. It's only just easing now! It's not been that painful before and wondered if perhaps it was something else like a UTI or too much sex! 🙈 (We have been DTD a LOT more than usual lol)!

I'm aware I'm probably being ridiculous but just thought I'd see if anyone else has had it before?

Thoughts?

Twistedsister7 · 20/03/2017 12:43

Marie that sounds exactly like my ovulation pain!! My backache is the worst part though cos it lasts about 3-5 days.

I'm in fw & DH & I have today off work to spend some time together (wink wink). So far so good!!

Welcome new posters & fx for you all.

Juno2002 · 20/03/2017 16:31

Hi all! Please could I join? We are technically not trying officially until we get married in June but I am so excited about TTC#1! I seem to spend an awful lot of time lurking on here so I thought I might as well join in! I've only just come off the pill after 10 years on it so I'm fully expecting a wait before everything gets back to normal.

Flatwhite31 · 20/03/2017 18:07

Hi all! I am going to the doctor tomorrow, as I keep feeling like I have permanent period pain/aches across my back and my lower abdomen. I'm sure it's something to do with coming off the pill, but I'm uncomfortable a lot of the time and it's getting in the way of DTD as it's making me feel tired! If I was going on a 28 day cycle (don't know yet as I haven't had a period yet), this would be my fertile week, so I want to feel better!

Flatwhite31 · 20/03/2017 18:09

Congratulations @Juno2002 on your wedding in June! We got married just over six weeks ago, and it really was the best day ever! Loved it so much. I'm 31 and hubby is 36, so due to our ages (!!) we are starting TTC straight away. I only came off the pill 2.5 weeks ago, though, so just seeing how things regulate before taking it really seriously.

Juno2002 · 20/03/2017 18:30

Thank you! Yes we can't wait!
Hope your docs appt is useful, that doesn't sound fun.
I can't even remember what life was like pre-pill. It's always made my brain feel a bit fuzzy if that makes sense so it'll be nice to see things a bit clearer. I used to get horrendous period pain so hopefully that doesn't return Hmm

Flatwhite31 · 20/03/2017 20:40

I used to get awful pain too, and very heavy bleeding. I'm hoping it won't be the same this time round! Hope you're enjoying your wedding planning. I kind of miss it, which I never thought I'd say!

Pibbee · 20/03/2017 20:52

Oi Flatwhite, I'm a good 5 years older than you, and I'm not massively concerned about the age thing so you have no reason to! Smile

Hi all the new newbies! Welcome!

I have nothing interesting to report. Gonna start peeing in sticks properly this cycle (rather than my fairly pathetic ONE attempt last time Grin )

AF has pretty much gone now, so just waiting to crack on!

Pibbee · 20/03/2017 21:02

Juno I'm still getting used to periods post-pill! Turns out I get more grumpy and stressy in the couple of days before than I used to....oh the joys! Hope you don't have bad pains returning.

Flatwhite31 · 20/03/2017 21:26

Haha Pibbee! I'll enjoy being 31 then Grin! Glad your AF has pretty much gone. I'm interested to see what my first proper period will be like!
Weirdly, I was such a grumpy cow last week. It was like 12 years of PMT all at once! I never got it on the pill, and I was surprised such severe PMT (mainly a foul mood) showed up less than 2 weeks after stopping the pill! Thankfully I'm feeling much less moody this week.

Schnapps00 · 21/03/2017 14:13

Hi all, can I join? Lots of us out there! I had a couple of questions, how long has ovulation taken to kick in after coming off (progesterone) pill on average? Just started the OPKs last month with no line seen & about to start cycle 5 - but been having v light almost nonexistent AF compared to younger, pre-pill days - somehow I've racked up 14 years on the pill on & off, eek! Confused Am 34.
Thanks for any insights you can provide..
