So we've maxed out our first thread, the positivity is building up nicely and we're joyfully moving on to a brand new thread...

This thread is for anyone TTC and is bursting with positivity, love and support as we cruise towards our BFP's.

New rules instead of saying AF due we say BFP due ...
Also you do not have to add your age or what cycle number you're on if you don't want to ...

The ultimate aim is to get everyone to destination BFP ASAP...
however the bus ride may take a little longer for some of us ...
it doesn't matter if you take the scenic route ...
as long you get there.

So plug in your stats and off we go xxx

Archies and magpie thank you so much for the encouraging words. I'm definitely leaving my little pity party behind as it's not helping at all. PMA is waaaayyy better. All my symptoms that I was having seem to have subsided - but I'm not over analysing. Que sera sera and all that jazz! Wink

BellaMoon · 21/02/2017 18:02

@mrsb am i right in remembering that you're not sure when to expect your BFP? how do you manage this in terms of POAS etc x

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 21/02/2017 18:05

Quick question for all of those who have had DCs: do you feel more 'relaxed'/'secure' knowing that you have had DCs before?
I ask this because I am worried that DH and I can't have DCs. Sounds pathetic but it does cross my mind Blush.

Dollydaydream2829 · 21/02/2017 18:06

Welcome Mrs T!
I'd never been a thread poster either until recently, best thing I ever did!
My story! Came off the pill at end of August, start of September to TTC, had a bit of a panic thinking I wasn't ready (and naively assumed it would happen straight away!) So didn't have unprotected sex until my December cycle. Missed my O date in December but still count that as a cycle.
Been OPKing last cycle and this just out of curiosity to ensure in ovulating. It'll be my husband and i's first baby! Hoping for my BFP on 5th March.
In other news.... I've still got a positive OPK this morning. Is this normal for the third day?!

mrsbarnettsbaby · 21/02/2017 18:14

Bella - I try and wait til at least cd40 then test. This cycle I waited til I got to my longest cycle ever then tested (cd65). I will now test every 2 weeks until af appears. Cd70 today. Good luck to you.

Charley2016 · 21/02/2017 18:22

MrsB you are an absolute trooper!! I really hope you get your BFP soon!

I'm so confused now! Expected a dark OPK this evening but it's practically gone! Top is sat night, middle this morning and bottom now!

How long have you left the most recent opk Charley?

Charley2016 · 21/02/2017 18:27

I went to the shop and back so around 30 mins Confused

BellaMoon · 21/02/2017 18:30

@dolly yay on the positive OPK 😁 as for a 3rd day, not entirely sure but id take this as a positive and keep on with the DTD til it goes 😉

BellaMoon · 21/02/2017 18:31

@mrsb can you sprinkle some of your patience this way please?

Did you pee on it enough? Haha sounds silly but I did one at 3pm that was exactly the same, checked on it an hour later and it was a lot darker.

BellaMoon · 21/02/2017 18:34

oh @charley i'm just not sure, i take it the lines supposed to be darker as you approach peak ovulation? when were you expecting peak ovulation? did you see that pic i posted the other day of an internet download of what IC OPK can look like?

Dolly thank you for sharing your story! It's a whole other world this TTC lark - it never occurred to me that there would be so many people in this boat!
Salem having a DC already takes away some of the pressure. But after a few cycles it doesn't really remove the doubt of things like secondary infertility and the impact of my age. I am so blessed to have my beautiful son but my DH and I would love another DC and the thought that maybe expanding our family is not a given has really come as a shock. But of course I count my blessings! X

mrsbarnettsbaby · 21/02/2017 18:42

I am blessed to have 3 kids. However I would love one with my partner, who has none. I think my age and training for the London marathon are both hindering me at the moment.

MrsT1234 · 21/02/2017 18:42

Oh and Salem probably the most amazing week of my life was the day my son was born followed 3 days later by my best friend getting her BFP after 2 years of trying and having just been told that it wouldn't happen for her naturally. Her DH sperms were totally idle and had 2 heads and things! In May it will be her DDs 2nd birthday. PMA and perseverance can do wonders!

Charley2016 · 21/02/2017 18:53

I'm totally confused as for the last 4 cycles my OPKs have been very clear! I normally get a bit of a line the day before and then a half dark on followed by a blazing positive so fully expected a positive Confused I don't normally ovulation until day 13 or 14 and it's only day 12 so I'm or worried just confused if I maybe ovulated overnight and had a short surge? I'll get dtd and test again tomorrow to see what's happening. I dipped the stick in so no worries about not enough urine etc. Probably my own fault for saying earlier that they always work for me haha

MissMagpie · 21/02/2017 19:08

Bella yes you had my dates right - AF due tmrw and will test Thursday if she doesn't arrive.

Salem it is definitely reassuring knowing I can get pregnant and carry a child full term. It took me 12 months to conceive but I certainly didn't know as much about ovulation etc.
Now I am 3 years older and worry about secondary infertility because I read about it and always think the worst! That's why I need this PMA thread in my life.

MissMagpie · 21/02/2017 19:08

Do you have any other signs Charley? Any ewcm?

Charley2016 · 21/02/2017 19:13

No I've never had EWCM Sad but I do have some back pain and cramps, although I don't normally get ovulation pain.... hmm maybe just a messed up month?

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 21/02/2017 19:58

4th OPk of the day.... still negative according to the bloody digital OPKs!! Any thoughts ladies? I'm nervous I'm not going to ovulate Sad.

Charley2016 · 21/02/2017 20:00

Salem I'd say the last one is definitely positive! Maybe the digital just isn't picking it up for some reason? Is this your first month using it? I think you should definitely be ovulating tomorrow with that result!

BellaMoon · 21/02/2017 20:10

@salem those look positive to me from what iv seen online. maybe your digital unit has become faulty? xx

BellaMoon · 21/02/2017 20:15

@magpie how you're managing to not POAS i don't know doffs cap

i was accosted by DH as i walked through the door. did the IC and because he "thinks these are shite, here do this 1 too" so iv POAS 3 times today haha. i'm going crossed eyed i'm looking at that many pink & blue lines (none positive as yet tho ladies)

he's also just said to me that the CB tests that say they can text up to 6days before AF are only 99.99% accurate when testing within 1 day of AF. there's small print that says the accuracy reduces further back into the 6days you go - so misleading isn't it? x

a few of us have discussed drinking alcohol during the 2WW and i think the consensus was that a couple couldn't hurt if you wanted to partake in a little tipple. i agree.

but what i'm wondering is, how do you all feel about DTD during the 2WW?

reason i'm asking us DH has been burnt out from our DTD during FW said he felt weird about it during the possible "implantation" period as he called it. it didn't cross my mind not to DTD so we have but it made me think, should we? xx

Charley2016 · 21/02/2017 20:46

Bella I think the consensus is that you should dtd all the way through pregnancy! The cervix keeps everything same and if your eggs been fertilised then hormones are released which stop other sperm trying to get in! I think a lot of men worry though. Dh thinks he's going to not have sex for 9 months haha!
