Seven Seas trying for a baby

Hi all
Today is CD 31 of a (usually) 28-day cycle, and this is the end of cycle 9 of TTC. I'm lucky that my cycles have always been regular, so I'm assuming that I'm ovulating each month. Maybe wrongly assuming - I don't know. This month, I've stated taking Seven Seas trying for a baby pills, after my best friend couldn't sing their praises enough. A while ago, I did see a post on here debating their success. One poster mentioned that taking these made their cycles longer. I've tried looking online to reviews but no to avail. So basically, I'd just like to know some of your stories/experiences of taking these, if they work, etc.
To make it easier, I just want to add that both DH and I are healthy (that we know) and I'm 27 so my age really isn't a factor. Oh, and I had a BFN this afternoon.

I would be interested to hear others' experiences too. We've been TTC for 10 months (just starting 11) and my cycles have been 28 - 30 days apart from last month which was a weird 35 day cycle with a really late ovulation. It was also the first month I took sevenseas, could be a coincidence but now I'm wondering if it's related! I took pregnacare for a few months before that but didn't like them as the tablets were so huge! Vitamins seem to have made zero difference to my success so think I am going to ditch them anyway and just take folic acid on its own.

Hi I started 7seas aswell this cycle and my 28 day cycle is on day 30.. My period was due on the 11th Feb. No sign . Sore boobs etc but no idea If due to late pms or possible pregnancy. If you go on amazon.co.uk and look at the seven seas pills with the most reviews, and filter the reviews to se the 1star reviews, 2 star etc there are a lot of people saying it messed up there cycles. So where id normally be xcited about my late period.. I am very sceptical 😞

I've taken seven seas for nearly two months now and no sign of a bfp. I think it just worries me that these vitamins are supposed to give you everything you need but somehow 'mess up' people's cycles. I don't really understand how! I just figured that it was better to be taking a supplement then not.

meeerkat · 13/02/2017 09:22

If you think it may affect your cycle perhaps just take a folic acid supplement rather than a multi vitamin and make sure your diet has everything else?

Folic acid is vital one for helping a foetus to develop properly. Once fallen pregnant a pregnancy vitamin could take over?

I was compeltely irregular before the mini pill but my periods settled when I started taking the pill. Stopped it Jan 1st and started taking Seven Seas trying for a baby straightaway. So far 2 predictable and very regular periods :) no bfp yet but had very clear ovulation symptoms, seems to work for me!

sunbird17 · 13/02/2017 10:17

I bought some Seven Seas, and my doctor told me not to take them as the ingredients were in the wrong amounts and there could be side effects. I was advised to take folic acid only, alongside a healthy and varied diet.

Sshsecretenclosed · 13/02/2017 11:20

sunbird that comment really worries me. The irrational part of me says I'm never going to take another, the rational says, surely we wouldn't be able to purchase them if they were in an incorrect dosage?!?

Newtoday · 13/02/2017 13:31

Which ingredients are the wrong dosage?

powerpuffer · 13/02/2017 16:59

They messed up my cycle and after a couple of months I swapped to Boots or Wilko own brand (whichever was cheapest) and had no more issues.

Millie9019 · 13/02/2017 17:32

now I'm confused. I was really hoping that after 3 years of trying.... my late period might be a positive! doubt it now. started 7 seas last month.... gutted...

ethelfleda · 13/02/2017 17:54

They haven't messed up my cycles at all levels. Have been taking them for ages! Looking at the ingredients, there is nothing weird in there - just vitamins and minerals you could get from a balanced diet anyway? Your body will expell what it doesn't need and use the rest I would have thought?

ethelfleda · 13/02/2017 17:55

Millie - have you taken a test??

Millie9019 · 13/02/2017 18:01

today and nothing.... I'm 3 days late and it still doesn't seem like I'm getting my period..

ethelfleda · 13/02/2017 18:02

What kind of test have you used?

Newtoday · 13/02/2017 18:14

Is it possible the 'messing up' of a cycle could mean it's actually bringing a cycle back to a long forgotten healthy norm? As in lengthening a too short luteul phase, for example?

Millie9019 · 13/02/2017 19:05

One of these... I've never used them before though. I'm hoping in a few days I'll know for sure... either by getting my period or by buying a better test...

Are you able to pick up a better test sooner or are you not a POAS addict and would rather wait Grin

MaisyPops · 13/02/2017 19:33

Ive been taking them for months now and in the last 3 months my normally clockwork cycles (could predict period arriving by symptoms to a 6 hour window) have been all over the place. Got so excited last month and came on 4 days late.

I'm going to follow this thread now.

Sshsecretenclosed · 13/02/2017 19:35

Oh goodness me - I'm worrying I should stop taking these now!

Millie9019 · 13/02/2017 19:47

That's exactly what I'm thinking... stop taking them and get something else.... I'm normally very regular..
I could get another 1 tomorrow... I'm an anxious person but I'm trying to not freak out over it and buy loads of tests...

Sshsecretenclosed · 13/02/2017 19:52

What did your test stick look like? BFN?

Millie9019 · 13/02/2017 20:11

I've chucked it now but absolutely no line except the control... I've looked at other threads and ppl have the faintest line but nope... not for me...

starsinyourpies · 13/02/2017 20:41

Have you tried the lubes that are meant to help? Worked for me!!

Plus Fertility Lubricant Tube 75ml www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002V0ZJ4Y/ref=cmswrcpapi_DNHOyb97XXVG5

Millie9019 · 13/02/2017 20:55

Found out about them on here and have it a go for the first time! Fingers crossed!
I'm glad i have ppl to talk about this with...

Autumn0909 · 13/02/2017 21:12

How scary that a doctor advised you not to take them sunbird! I have two left in my packet and I'll be throwing them away! I've been using Conceive Plus for a while but no luck yet.
Millie, I hope you get a better test and a BFP!
