So sorry Bliss. The whole process is just so hard and disappointing. Try to be kind to yourself today and know that CD1 is the worst one and that you will feel a bit better in a few days. We are all here if you need a rant and there is never any judgement. Flowers

KittyKat73 · 05/04/2017 13:43

Aw bliss so sorry Flowers
Pjs hoping that sods law will win and get you knocked up before your appointment!
Eva Hope AF stays away for you! its bad enough when she turns up but during holidays is even worse.
Loxy let us know how you get on! got all my fingers and toes crossed for you
aw Pie hope you get your diagnosis and treatment soon
Jene thats such bad timming! hopefully you have done enough :)

not much going on over here cd25 no idea when AF will appear so bobbing about my days as usual lol. Had alot of on/off cramping down below but I had that when AF disappeared for 3 months so not looking to much into it.

Loxy4527 · 05/04/2017 16:45

Sorry, bliss Flowers

Pyjamas81 · 05/04/2017 18:53

So sorry bliss - CD1 is an absolute bitch 😞 Take care of yourself tonight and treat yourself xx

Piehunter · 05/04/2017 20:25

Flowers Bliss

bassetmum · 05/04/2017 21:47

Sorry bliss. Look after yourself.

Definitely with you on the body parts on ebay. I was contemplating invoking sods law by buying a menstrual cup but I wouldn't even know where to start!!! Pjs with you on the scary side of ivf.

Hopefully all goes well for you pie.
*
Kitty* haha with the virgin mary!! I think this month is a write off too.

Fx for you loxy.

Sorry for the bad timing jene and eva for easter timing.

Cd22 for me and the no symptom spotting is working as apparently I'm having no symptoms bar the occasional nausea. Next wednesday is when the witch is due so we shall see.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 05/04/2017 22:13

Sorry bliss.
We need to be strategic about our organ selling girls, don't want to flood the market and bring prices down ;-)

DH got home at 3am and we managed to DTD but then it was hideous getting up for work this morning. So tired.

Basset I do have a menstrual cup and am thinking of putting it in after DTD at night to stop the little swimmers escaping. Think I have officially lost the plot. Fingers crossed for you re the nausea!

PJs I have appointment on 12th May, like your other Sod's Law suggestions. Thinking of booking a wine tasting holiday! No wait, wine and pâté tasting. With deli meats for breakfast. And champagne for brunch followed by a sauna.
Getting baby bombed left, right and centre. I feel the need to eat another Easter egg...

Pyjamas81 · 05/04/2017 22:15

I use a moon cup for AF anyway Bassett but haven't tried it for dtd, there's quite a lot of, er, suction involved when taking it out and I worry about doing more harm than good!** Fx for Wednesday!!

I'm feeling quite positive about potential ivf today, although will probably be terrified when it actually happens.

coastalchick · 06/04/2017 08:19

tried the clear blue dual hormone thingy for first time this morning but zero chance of pregnancy today. was sort of expecting that as think FW will be more friday onwards and we are in middle of packing to move house at moment so nooky in the week is probably out as by time worked full day, come home and done some packing, "cooked" (i.e. shoving in oven as most kitchen stuff packed!) then we're knackered! Hoping to DTD this weekend though - other half won't know what's hit him! Excited to start trying (as we've not been yet) but also worried as I'm 38.5 and thinking it's not going to be easy. Suppose ought to chat to my mum to see how easy she conceived - she had us at 28 and 30 I think so that was "old" in those days (though may have been 26 and 28). Think other half is a bit shellshocked (he's 33 almost 34) but it is what he wants (I've asked him several times if he's sure!!!)

florafoxtrot · 06/04/2017 09:36

Well done on the 3am shagging JeNe and then getting up for work! You are a TTC inspiration! Grin

I've heard about using menstrual cups for sperm catching so its definitely a thing - not something I've tried though!

Good Luck with the moving coastal I use the CB digital OPKs too and they seem to detect ovulation - I also temp so know that it happens. Don't worry too much about age either, know there is a lot of media scaremongering but seems that there is a lot of luck involved in this whole thing!

I am still trying to implement a new "initiative" into TTC every month (although I'm running out of ideas) so this month we are trying preseed Hmm and raspberry leaf tea. I shall keep you posted regarding how these exploits go. PJs I'm also on Day3 of Headspace and I am liking it - just need to get a bit better at it as my mind definitely wanders!

Loxy4527 · 06/04/2017 11:06

Hey coastal good to see you again :) hope the move goes well! Try to enjoy the start of TTC, it is exciting! I guess there's an upside to your age, in that if it takes some time the docs will consider getting you looked at after 6 months rather than 1-2 years :) chatting to mum is a great idea, I learned a lot from mine and will be leaning on her a lot for help when I conceive :)

flora I like that, I've been trying to slowly introduce new things each month too! Last month was opks, this month is opks and conceive plus, if we get to next month I'll start temping.

All quiet here, I nearly went crazy last night to buy a test but luckily DH had the car so I couldn't. We're going to pick up a FRER tonight if I can find one (anyone noticed how hard they are to find these days? Tesco and co-op had none!) then test in the morning. Too scared to do a digital, I want to see how dark the line is. CD30 today btw, 15 DPO I think. Tender boobs, heartburn last night, cervix now feels puffy and soft. If this isn't it then I think you can just forget symptoms all together because come on...

bassetmum · 06/04/2017 11:39

Coastal i found chatting to my mum interesting in a not to say we are trying sort of thing. My mum took 6 months to get me but she was 23 so who knows on that one.

I've been the opposite and stopped trying loads of new things. Might pick it up again next cycle.

Wow 3am dtd that's impressive jene.

I think i am going to cycle 9 as today I have woken up with my usual pre af stonking headache. Ive done some research and its linked to the drop in oestrogen. The best thing for them the progesterone only pill. Erh.…… not helpful internet!! Guess we will find out shortly.

florafoxtrot · 06/04/2017 12:00

Sounds like good signs Loxy - how long are your usual cycles?

Obviously none of my previous initiatives have worked Basset but guess its back to that Voltaire phase "the art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease"
Hoping AF stays away for you.

Loxy4527 · 06/04/2017 13:48

27 days consistently flora appart from one time when it was 25 and last month with the mc/chemical. Wanted to wait a good long time in case last month messed me up a bit.

Piehunter · 06/04/2017 22:01

basset hope AF stays away

flora like the idea of something new each month, we use conceive plus as it was cheaper than preseed, that was the only deciding factor though.

baguette think you win FW award of the month... Commitment to the cause Wine

Ooh Loxy sounds promising, don't know HOW you've been so self controlled Blush

CD15 today and I've just had an almost positive opk!! Have had only one other month in October where it was this early. I expect it to be positive tomorrow (or I might miss it overnight) which would put ov at sometime between cd17/18.. New toys have had desired effect and we've dtd yesterday and day before so it's all going to plan so far. If only body would kindly cooperate Wink

JeNeBaguetteRien · 06/04/2017 22:47

Oh Loxy fingers crossed.

Coastal there's an old saying "New house, new baby", hope it's true for you.

I haven't actually used the mooncup after DTD yet but not ruling it out. I don't think I will be making a habit of the middle of the night DTD but that face on the Clearblue stick smiles at you for 48 hours and there were only 4 hours left, plus on a practical note I was feeling more awake then as DH had texted me from the taxi (much better than appearing in the bedroom and scaring the life out of me as he did before!)

Both too tired yesterday for any action. Have got my acupuncture again tomorrow evening and hoping for a lazy weekend after that.

PillowFort · 07/04/2017 00:27

Hi everyone! Newbie to both MN and TTC, but I'm giving these abbreviations a go.

DH and I have recently agreed we were ready to start a family. Very excited and anxious!

CD9 and cycles seem to be 26 days. FW starts today according to an app (but I'm aware I shouldn't be relying on that too much). There really is an app for everything, huh?

Any advice for somebody new to the world of TTC? I'm probably going to become a tad obsessive...

Loxy4527 · 07/04/2017 06:40

Woaaaah. I'm shaking. I could barely hold the clear blue. First test was so fecking faint I did the other FRER immediately with the same sample. That came up a bit better so I decided to try the clear blue. Holy crap. Little concerned how light the line is but can't dwell on that now. Someone hold my hand please.

Realised I attached the slightly crapper pic of the FRERs, this is a better one

JeNeBaguetteRien · 07/04/2017 07:28

Loxy!!! Congratulations 🎊. So pleased for you.
A line is a line and the Clearblue has it there on the screen. Fabulous news to start the day!

Welcome Pillow, have a read through the thread for some tips, TTC is a bit crazy sometimes.

Piehunter · 07/04/2017 07:47

Congratulations loxy Grin to get the clear blue to come up at all there must be a decent level of hcg, were the frers in a twin pack? As baguette says, a line is a line and especially with the clear blue saying pregnant. Really hope this is it for you Flowers

pillow welcome, I think at the start it's really important to try and enjoy it, for the first few months I didn't tell DH when it was FW and it made it feel more spontaneous for him. 10+ months down the line and I now demand we have sex regardless of whether either of us want to from time to time in FW Wink and I'm glad I haven't piled the pressure on from the start.

coastalchick · 07/04/2017 07:54

oh loxy thats such good news - congratulations!

Love on here how open people are - 3am shagging!!! Good going (don't know where you find the energy!)

I tested again this morning and got flashy smiley face! Ties in with my clue app. Just told other half and he goes "what does that mean" and I said "we need to have sex" and he goes "what, like now, I've got to go to work!". Ha ha, I said it could wait until he gets home tonight. Am quite pleased I even got a flashy face as I had thought I'd not get anything as not in best of health really (though I did manage to run london marathon last year so can't be tooooooo bad!) but though not getting hopes up I guess that's a good sign that I may at least have some hope?

We are now 6 days from move - boxes literally everywhere - finding things we (more I really as most of other half's stuff at his mums as he's only lived here just under 2 years) didn't know we had! Wish we had the energy to be ruthless this end and chuck stuff but where we live, access (and therefore getting rid of rubbish) is really limited whereas in the new house we will actually have a drive we can park the car in and put things straight into the car! So thinking that's a better idea. I do hope the saying new home new baby is true!!

Good luck all of you with your escapades over the weekend - would say I'll be thinking of you but that would be a bit weird Smile

Loxy4527 · 07/04/2017 08:12

Welcome, Pillow it's great here! As others have said, try to hold off on the obsession for as long as you can manage. There'll be plenty of time for the nitty gritty later, and we'll all be here to help :)

Thank you ladies, I needed that. Don't know what I'd do without you all. I don't think DH knew how to react this time. He's trying to protect me by not getting too excited, I think it'll get to him when things progress a bit more.

Pie yes, they were in a twin pack. DH thought I was mad for getting three tests but I'm very glad I did.

Coastal great news on the opk! Actually ovulating is a good start, haha. Good luck!

bassetmum · 07/04/2017 08:27

Congratulations loxy. I can see something on both frers and with a positive clearblue digi think you are onto a winner there. Fingers and everything crossed that this is a little sticky bean for you!!!

OP posts:
florafoxtrot · 07/04/2017 08:44

Congratulations Loxy were those the new curved FRERs that are meant to prevent you from peeing on your hand? I've heard they are less sensitive than the old ones and the CB is very conclusive so try not to worry! Fingers crossed for a happy and healthy 9 months for you! xx
