I am the opposite- I want to buy as little stuff as possible!! But I did all the crazy baby shopping years ago with DD and now I want to use less stuff. We do not have a big flat, and so I need to plan carefully

Redpony1 · 07/02/2017 16:10

Laura i think it's because 99% of babies clothes are folded not hung up, what little you do want to hang can go in your own wardrobe. Which, thinking about my nieces bedrooms, they've never had wardrobes either.

Grumpy oh i am with you on buying as little as possible. I'm pretty thrifty and will not spend lots of money on something where a cheaper version will work just as well. I'm also not against second hand stuff either!

MrsC2017 · 07/02/2017 16:39

Heyy girls, you guys have been chatty today, had a mentaller in work today, glad its over, hump day tomorrow so not so bad!
We have no pets, I would love a cat but neighbours dog would eat it, DH is mad for a dog but i feel we aren't home enough to have one an wouldn't want any animal to be left home alone for long periods, our neighbours have a dog that DS plays with and comes up the road for walks with us when we go so we can borrow him!
Girls the one bit of advice I heard re cot beds is if you have another baby you have no cot, something I never would have thought about! So all I really want is a country bog walk friendly buggy and I don't mind about anything else!
xlaura venue looks fab, I so want to do my wedding again hearing all the wedding chat on here, brides to be are you guys having big weddings or small? Mine was a big 2 day event but thats the Irish way so no choice! I'm thinking of selling my dress, thought I never would but its just hug in the spare room looking at me sadly!
red Will you test soon if no AF? or have you been testing, I prob would be doing them every day.
parsnips Skiing sounds fun, falling over included! Enjoy every second!
mouse Sorry to hear all you have gone through, you deserve a good run at things so I hope things get worked out ASAP for you!
So did no sugar yesterday........dying for sugar today, being healthy is difficult, going to try and get walking this evening, managed it last night so want to do a good week! Last day of AF tomorrow then the dreaded wait, I swear I hate this bit before ov 100 times more than the tww!
I think we will try this cycle and next cycle and then if nothing we may sit out a cycle or two for various timing issues but lets pray it won't come to that!!

Tigger83 · 07/02/2017 16:54

Struggling a bit today swinging between positive and it'll never happen.

I have had a few medical conditions and have looked on dr google and convinced myself I'm going to find it hard to conceive. When I'm rational I think I'm being ridiculous and everything will be fine!!

Currently munching on a quarter of a pineapple as I've heard that can help with the uterine lining in the 2ww got vitb6 as I've heard that helps, buying baby aspirin later I'm literally throwing everything at it! Used the boots lube this month which I think made a difference Confused

Just feel overwhelmed with the information and worried about my health and then on the flip side I'm like oh well what'll be will be. We're off away this weekend so focusing on that instead!

Sorry for the rant just needed to get it off my chest lol

Oysterbabe · 07/02/2017 17:46

When I conceived last time I was on honeymoon and drinking pinacoladas like they were water. They're mostly pineapple juice so it definitely works Grin

HeyJupiter · 07/02/2017 18:17

Tigger totally get how your feeling. it is a barrage of information isn't it and you sort of either have to embrace it or totally ignore it (and I can't do the latter!) It does make us vulnerable to over investment. If you have certain medical conditions that are worrying you - in regards to fertility - would it be worth discussing with the GP?

Going to get some pineapple tomorrow! :)

xlaura · 07/02/2017 18:31

Grumpy / Redpony - I spose I see your method in madness there. I plan on buying a nursery set that would hopefully last until they start primary school or a couple of years in when I'd like to hope they'd have more shirts and jumpers etc. There's deffo no room at all. Bearing in mind I have a 3 bed detached house and there's just me and my partner living here. My back bedroom I've had to convert into a dressing room and do ceiling to floor mirrored wardrobes and there's clothes in every single room. (See pics..I have an obsession I know)

MrsC - mines fairly average. Both me and OH have very big families (his father is 1 of 9!) but fortunately for us we don't speak to the majority of them even tho they are immediate family so we've got from about 120 in day to 65 or so. More in the eve..mines just happening on the Saturday and we fly to Maldives on the Sunday eve so give us time to get home and say goodbye to my little Ronnie before he has a holiday at his Nannies for 10 nights. I'm gonna cry at the airport (sad I know but he is like my baby 🙈😂)

Tigger I know it's a lot easier said than done but do try to think positive. Negative thoughts will only make you worried, which will make you stressed which will chuck your cycles all out which leads on and on..before you know 6 months has passed and you realise nothing's changed. Try and think positive..I am a big believer of everything happens for a reason. Your time will come 100% just go with the flow, do your OPKs and keep dtd as much as you can. It'll catch eventually..practice makes perfect and all tht Wink hehe.

xlaura · 07/02/2017 18:58

Forgot the pics.. durrr!!! There's no room for any baby clothes so I've got no choice but to buy a wardrobe haha

Just coming back from yoga, first class and loved it.

Had a pre conception chat with gp and she was happy so I'm sure it's just my over active imagination!

Nice bath and chill with my oh. Dtd has been
Much more fun this month, we've both been more chilled about it and managed eod up until fertile week the every day fertile week and now back to eod!

HbH04 · 07/02/2017 19:45

Lots to catch up on after another mental day at work!

I've got a step cat (DH's only baggage!) she's a little fucker & TOTALLY knows how to wind me up! There's the odd cute moment but mostly we just co-exist!!

It's weird but I can't even see past TTC yet! I can't envisage being pregnant or having a baby... I can only focus on one project at a time and the first one is getting preggo.
I've definitely got a little niggle in the back of my mind that there might be issues - for no reason - no health issues & my mum had six kids 😂

If we do fall in the first month it'll be a Dec due date... Probably my least preferred month!! But not enough to put me off trying!

xlaura · 07/02/2017 19:46

Congrats tigger! Told you there was nothing to worry about ☺️ I'd imagine it's super hard not making it part of a routine and boring when your dtd and trying to catch it on fw. Got a good feeling in my bones for you

HbH04 · 07/02/2017 19:48

Ooh just spotted your post tigger excellent DTD action!! Sounds like you've nailed it!

Tigger83 · 07/02/2017 19:52

Oh and I forgot to add to my list Brazil nuts lol

xlaura · 07/02/2017 19:55

HBH - you do make me laugh. It's a love hate relationship by the sounds of it. You love to hate her 😂😂

I wish I could focus on one project at a time I'm tryna run before I can even walk. I haven't even got off the pill and I'm like a woman possessed not at all worrying for my poor oh doesn't even know what he's got himself in for hahaha

noroomonbroom · 07/02/2017 20:07

Hi can I come and join in.
Waiting for my af after mc then will be going all guns blazing.Have decided all I can do at the moment is make sure I'm in the best possible shape.
Really didn't bother with any pre-conception stuff with my other pregnancies but this was a bit of a wake up call I think, perhaps Mother Nature's way of saying I'm not as young as I look and need to stop winging it.
And possibly cut down on the coffee.
Any way have picked up some tips so thanks.Broom.

xlaura · 07/02/2017 20:10

Welcome aboard noroom!! Sorry to hear about your mc. Maybe it gave you the wake up call you neeeded. Good ol Mother Nature don't you just love it 🙄 not. Unless your counting down the days for af to not show up so you get that BFP haha!

Mummyme87 · 07/02/2017 20:31

On my way home from work, busy busy!

mouselove I remember you from another thread a few months ago. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Be kind to yourself. Hopefully you will get your health under control and be able to continue TTC

I'm thinking a lot about stuff I want for baby this time round. We have moved house from a 2bed flat up two flights of stairs with no lift to a 3 bed house so needs have changed a little. Definitely want a co sleeper this time (Chico next to me).. think it will help more with breastfeeding and trying to get more than 45mins sleep at night; considering reusable nappies this time, I want new fabric for my bugaboo, will use my ergobaby sling more this time so need the newborn insert... exciting 😁 OH just isn't there with excitement yet, I don't think he can imagine it happening anytime soon. It probably won't but I have to be a bit positive!

buzzmoon · 07/02/2017 20:55

Evening girls! Welcome room!

My planning knows no bounds ladies! I am a mental person as you know! I spent the whole evening the other night looking at diy co sleepers from an IKEA crib and legit started measuring my bed 😂😂 I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone though, we're all a bit mental!

noroomonbroom · 07/02/2017 21:02

mouselove.so sorry to hear about your loss.I was at the same point when I MC.Although mine was a mmc,I thought I was 12 weeks.I really hope everything works out for you and you can ttc.
At the moment I'm just trying to make sure my iron levels are high enough.
Won't be getting a bfp this month have decided to let my self recover properly but would be so nice to have a little bump by the time I got to my old due date.
If everything goes smoothly might even manage a December edd.
Mummyme87.The sling thing is definitely something I want to give a proper go this time around. It has become more of a 'thing' where I am and it looks so lovely, little newborns all cuddled up to mum. Also quite handy for when you have to leg it after a toddler who's taken it upon themselves to escape the park.

xlaura · 07/02/2017 21:05

Mummyme - hi5 to crazy planning and thoughts haha! I've always never liked the idea of those slings only because I'm super accident prone and so scared that I fall over and end up doing the worse to my poor baby! But everybody that uses them has nothing but good things to say about them that's for sure all about convenience at the end of the day. What works for one person may not for somebody else. I just cannot wait to get to the point where I can try pushing 17,000 prams in the shops even though I already know what one I want. I basically have everything I want on a little note on my phone (major freak alert!! Haha) even down to specific accessories that people have told me about and I literally want them just because it'll be my first baby and want to go all out and not skimp on nothing. I'm sure I'll regret that if I can make it to the second time round

Buzz - Evening. You've been quiet this evening..have you been busy? I think we're all abit crazy some people just voice it a little more i.e me and you haha

buzzmoon · 07/02/2017 21:15

I think I'd like to try the sling, like you say room, the bubbas look super cute and cosy all wrapped up in there 😍

laura sweet of you to notice, I had some sort of ridiculous emotional breakdown this afternoon and couldn't stop crying for absolutely no reason really. Just reading the thread has made me feel so much better and calm I wish I had done it earlier! So thank you 😘

buzzmoon · 07/02/2017 21:20

Also I am so jealous of your wardrobe laura! I currently have one of those shitty rails like what you see at a car boot!
We moved into our house about a year ago. The spare bedroom was used as a nursery by the previous owners and there's a built in cupboard which has 2 rails at different heights and a shelf in the middle- I.e perfect for bubba clothes. I should in theory take out the shelf and use it for my clothes, but I'm so mental I have never been able to bring myself to do it because I know one day I'll (I hope🙌🏽) be hanging stuff there :)

MrsC2017 · 07/02/2017 21:39
