Morning ladies!

MrsC I am 11dpo today, according to Ovia...

Ohhhhh Grumpy a black shower will look amazing! I am very jealous! Wonder why they are so hard to get hold of??

Welcome to the thread Mouse, i followed your story and cannot begin to know how you feel Flowers

xlaura · 07/02/2017 09:40

HBH - well I'm glad I can be of assistance..even if it is at my expense haha! Then to make matters worse we went on a water ride and the biggest men got in the cart and I got strapped up and sat at the front. Needless to say white jeans were a big no go 😂 I will never be going in spring break again it was far too humid and busy for my liking haha.

Buzz - haha well yeah that's the problem..just sit under the air con for a little while and you'll be fine. We're getting married at a place called Exton Hall, having a big marquee with lots of food and drink and dancing. there certainly is a lot of planning that comes with it that's for sure. Thank god im only doing this once (unless oh trades me in for an even younger model haha!)

buzzmoon · 07/02/2017 09:47

Wow I've just googled Exton Hall! It's bloody beautiful! You lucky thing!!

xlaura · 07/02/2017 09:58

Thanks buzz, it is rather amazing. It wasn't our first choice we originally had The Old Hall, Ely but they double booked us and tht was the last one we could fine that had availability before we were gonna jet off abroad somewhere. I never would've even thought about a Tipi how cool is that? Weddings are all about being different now aren't they..it's amazing how many ideas you can get. I've lost many hours on Pinterest and online clicking on images and links haha

Redpony1 · 07/02/2017 10:56

Exton Hall looks beautiful!
Similar to where my best friend got married in 2012. She got married in a church on a big country estate, then was taken around the village in a white carriage pulled by two grey horses, it was stunning seeing the carriage come up the gravel tree lined driveway to the reception venue!

xlaura · 07/02/2017 11:31

Thanks redpony. I did really want a horse drawn carriage but I couldn't find one that I liked that was available for my date 😒 our church actually is in the grounds too so the guests will walk over the grounds and down for canapés and drinks and then me and oh will come down the gravel drive too so they can actually see us and have some group pics done. I'm rather excited and pooing myself a little bit too.. i jus have babies on my mind 24/7 to the point where I think I've become slightly psychotic that I just want the wedding done so I can get buying baby things (hopefully! 🤞🏼)

Redpony1 · 07/02/2017 12:07

I tell you what Laura, being on mumsnet is going to make your wait feel longer! I joined the chats in December when i came off Cerelle, i wasn't planning on starting to TTC until around March this year. Well, then i learnt about how long it could take for my cycles to return to normal, then i learnt about tracking it with cheap OPK's... I accidentally found my fertile week and now i have another week of waiting to test Grin It's a slippery slope on mumsnet!!

(I'm convinced i am going to get a BFN though, because i have no symptoms other than what i've had on & off since coming off the pill 63 days ago, such as pains and light cramping)

HeyJupiter · 07/02/2017 12:25

Red its such a slippery slope! Swear quite a lot of people joined this thread planning to TTC "this year" and now lots of active OPK-ing etc. Love it :)

At work on an admin day and mind keeps wandering. Was thinking about how if we havent conceived this month my egg will have disintegrated by now... yet I'm going to spend the next 10 days symptom spotting and emotionally investing. Not particularly perceptive of me but is a bit sad. All that potential wasted emotion.

Will cheer myself up by looking at kittens on the Internet! And Exton hall (which is stunning btw)

orangefolly · 07/02/2017 12:28

Lol - red I'm on the slippery slope too. I was planning to just 'see what happens' with a bit of date tracking. Now I am eyeing up OPKs on Amazon...

xlaura · 07/02/2017 12:32

Red - I'm super excited for the journey ahead. It's weird to become so chatty with you ladies but not actually ever really meet you haha! I don't know when the best to start using OPKs? Don't know if should wait in April after I've been off and hopefully had withdrawal bleed etc. Then once I've had a whole month testing I can start TTC in may using them again. What ones do you get? Do you ladies have any pets? Random q I know but always a worry. I've got a little Yorkshire terrier who we've had since August and is turning 1 in April. He's very needed and affectionate it worries me incase he becomes jealous when LO gets here. But look at his face.. it's like butter wouldn't melt haha. He even takes over my pillow when he comes up for morning kisses haha!

orangefolly · 07/02/2017 12:57

I have a cat 😺 Expect she will get very jealous of our attention but hope to manage it by keeping a quiet space for her attention and still giving her cuddles when we can. My friend's cat started peeing on her baby's stuff when they brought him home from the hospital. He used to make eye contact with her then do it 😂

xlaura · 07/02/2017 13:10

Orange - aww. My dog is called Ronnie and my mum has the same but called Reggie (yes named after the Krays 😂) Ronnie so lives up to his character it's unbelievable. He's a very loving dog, he's not vicious if ever little children have come over to stroke him when we're on a walk he always licks their hand bless him. It's just my biggest fear as it'd break my heart if I ever had to get rid of him but hopefully it doesn't come to that. I can deal with a bit of wee on stuff. Nothing a washing machine can't sort out is it? I'm hoping he'll be like all those cute videos you see on fb..where they fall asleep on the baby etc but I think I'm asking for a miracle. How long have you being TTC??

Redpony1 · 07/02/2017 13:14

My mum bought a Yorkie when i was 11, i love them and would love another, although she had the heart of a lion and was extremely protective, no way could she have been around young children. She had long hair to the floor all the way round and had a bow in to keep her hair out of her eyes Grin we had her PTS when she was 16 as she had Cushings and Glaucoma Sad

No pets at home for me though (just 3 horses at the yard!), my mum has a Jack Russell though who is good with the grandchildren so that won't be an issue.

HeyJupiter · 07/02/2017 13:38

We have a cat who is very possessive and obsessed with DH. She's also a bit skittish and doesn't like crying noises (ran out of the room when baby on tv was crying the other day) so that doesn't bode well. On the upside she adores pregnant women and was all over my best friend especially in the early stages of her pregnancy. Definite change in behaviour. I reckon my cat will know before I do if and when I get pregnant. Maybe they can smell a chemical change?

xlaura · 07/02/2017 13:38

Red - aww sorry to hear you had her PTS. We've always had yorkies, we had to had our female PTS when she was 17 as she had a tuma in her stomach and it was no life for her. She was good as gold and we never once had a vet bill for her. We then rescued a little toy make that was being used as a toy for a Rottweiler when my stepdad was doing business and we had him PTS 11 months later bevause he had the exact same thing and had a broken heart. It's amazing how something so small that can't talk can bring so much joy and presence to a home. It took my mum a couple of years before she got Reggie because she was still hurting. I couldn't imagine my life without my little Ronnie now. I'm just praying that when the time comes he'll be okay x

xlaura · 07/02/2017 13:41

Jupiter - animals are very clever things really. Especially cats I think they definitely pick up on certain things. Maybe you could save a fortune on CB tests and just go near a cat instead..any old one..off the street then it'll be really cheap way of getting the BFP 😂😂 I wish I was into cats. I've always been a dog person..there little bendy bodies have always given me the heebie jeebies. Saying that I'd still kill if I ever saw anybody harming one..I'd happily do time if anybody dared to hurt an animal in my eyes #PsychoInTheMaking haha

TheGrumpySquirrel · 07/02/2017 14:39

Nice getting to know you all a bit more and your respective wedding plans and pets! We have two cats brother and sister the boy is just obsessed with food and the girl is neurotic but very pretty. They both love cuddles!

I've been calculating dates and Ovia says fertile week is 13-18 Feb.. (valentines day DTD for me!!) sooo... based on conception on the 18th feb (assuming I ovulate then) or date of last AF the online due date calculator I've been playing with predicts November 7 or November 11 as EDD! Can't wait until I see a positive OPK Smile

xlaura · 07/02/2017 14:50

Grumpy - I know sometimes we get a little bit bogged down in the whole TTC we forget to learn abit more about the person behind the phone. I hope you get a positive OPK fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼 make sure you DTD loads and then the little suckers have no choice haha! Or that's what I think anyway. I literally cannot wait to come off and finish this packet. If I dare get away with it I would finish at the end of this one (only 4 more days left!) but I don't dare just incase. At least if I fall in the April first few weeks post pill I will be able to still get away with it hopefully..

HeyJupiter · 07/02/2017 14:54

Grumpy that's exciting! Romantic valentines conception. If we conceived this month then the EDD would be 28th October. Really yearning for a baby today, hard to manage.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 07/02/2017 14:57

Oh yeah and the slippery slope is real! We were planning to start trying in march or April at the earliest, with a target conception date of May or June. Now I'm raring to DTD in mid feb fertile week Blush

xlaura · 07/02/2017 15:21

Jupiter I feel your pain. For the past few months I've been really badly wanting it more than ever must be something in the air. We'll all get our BFPs soon that's for sure!!

Grumpy haha! I know exactly what you mean I'd secretly like to conceive in may for a Feb baby (imagine if it was Valentine's Day) - March is my birthday so ideally I'd like to miss March just because I think it steals the limelight away from him or her when there's more than one in the same month but ofc I wouldn't be disappointed if not. If only we could pick and choose our date it'd be bliss. I keep looking at nursery furniture and prams I think I've got a serious problem 😒 haha

Redpony1 · 07/02/2017 15:36

I was looking at nursery furniture too, had a chest of drawers with changing table on top, cot and wardrobe on my 'want' list. Then yesterday i was reading how pointless wardrobes are for babies (thinking about it, that makes sense!), and how useless the chest of drawers are for short people to change on top, so i scrapped them from my list! Now just want a tall book shelf, larger chest of drawers and cot, which will be much cheaper too Smile

HeyJupiter · 07/02/2017 15:49

Good planning Red! I mentally redecorated our second bedroom at the weekend in blues and creams. I have a cushion with clouds on that will use as a starting point :)

Thanks laura it is so hard to bear the wanting isn't it. I think I just worry there might be something wrong (no reason to think that though) and all this investment is a waste of time.

Sorry am being a bit miserable today! Will cheer up and think positively x

xlaura · 07/02/2017 15:51

I know it's so easily done. I want one of those white sleigh cot beds (saves buying a bed later on), they do matching wardrobe. I don't understand how they are useless when you normally put clothes in them? And knowing me I'll go a little overboard and the draws I've seen have a flat bit to put changing mat on them too. The wardrobe has 3 little shelves in tht are open to display some nice books and teddies. I get so carried away to the point I've done a floorplan #dontjudge..now do you agree with me that I'm going psycho? 🙈😂

xlaura · 07/02/2017 15:53

Jupiter it's super hard. I'm already thinking that and I haven't even had my last pill then. I'm worried incase it takes longer than I want it to and Im worrying just because I'm a worrier 😂 I'll join you on the negative bus today haha. Pessimists are us is what we are haha!!
