Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

inspector is the Yorkshire decaf tea good? My supply of Betty's decaf is almost gone Sad

sk1pper · 12/02/2017 22:18

Pug - Definitely sounds like a particularly large cyst unfortunately, especially as you're close to ovulation. Nothing really helps it, you may have that dull ache for 4-5 days now while all the matter squeezes down your tube.

sk1pper · 12/02/2017 22:21

Penguin - thanks for the pic, always looking for guilt free brands. I haven't heard of those painkillers, can you get them over the counter?

macsworth · 12/02/2017 22:29

The calm approach is definitely a much nicer way of going about things but my boobs have started to get sore as normal so not holding out much hope in its success. Think I'll go for the zen cycle again though.

pug that's sounds horrible. Hope you feel ok soon. Look after yourself.

I have the Yorkshire decaf too, I can't tell the difference between it and normal tea which is good! What's the coffee like penguin?

Flashinthepan · 12/02/2017 22:32

Evening ladies. I'll catch up.properly tomorrow. Just to say sorry for all those in pain/baby bombed/arguing with dh/DPS!

Kathrino · 12/02/2017 22:35

That sounds horrible pug, it sounds a bit low to be a gallstone which was what I thought it might be originally. I had a few attacks a couple of years ago and never known anything like it. Apparently child birth is a doddle compared to the pain. I hope you feel better soon Flowers

I have discussed painkillers with various docs and the view was that ibuprofen is fine during AF. Most of the other hardcore painkillers are fine too but they just can't ever categorically state that because it's unethical to test them on pregnant women. The general view seems to be that the stress of pain is worse for the body than the potential impact of most painkillers. Disclaimer here in that I've discussed this in the context of my own medical conditions and the impact that any potential pregnancy would have on them.

Pugmummy87 · 12/02/2017 22:42

Yes jam I remember you posting about that now. Sounds very similar. I don't think it's implantation personally as I didn't experience any pain of the sort last cycle when I got a bfp but who knows.

I've had similar pain before but not as bad as this morning and never with the fainting episode.

I'm inclined to think the same as skipper and that it probably is a burst cyst. I know I do have 'cysts' on my ovaries, although that was 5 1/2 years ago.

Dull ache is feeling slightly more right sided this evening. Will be keeping a close eye on it and if it gets like it did last night will get it checked out especially as I do still have my appendix.

sk1pper · 12/02/2017 22:52

Pug - I think it's a functional cyst though, the one that helps the egg pop out. It might just have grown larger than normal - so I think it's nothing to worry about. Just irritating.

This website explains it better than I can:
www.alternativesurgery.com/education/ovarian-cysts/

Flashinthepan · 12/02/2017 22:53

Definitely a good idea to get checked out pug if it persists/gets worse.

So I think yesterday and today were.my super fertile days. Needless to say we dtd once since af ended, and that was over a week ago, and now I see another cycle slipping away without the required activity. Will try and convince dh hes up for it tonight, although I'm not sure I can be bothered. Bleurgh!

InspectorPenguin · 12/02/2017 23:06

Sk1pper try this from Boots OTC as a start (it's Co-dydramol). You can't buy many of them at them at once but it definitely sounds more like what you need.

I agree with Kath that there's very little risk from drugs we'd come into contact with while TTC so you might as well get as much relief as you can. There are no extra points for suffering!

Sk1p & Hep: I like the Yorkshire Tea so far although today I made a pot with two bags of the decaff and one bag of normal Earl Grey, so I've not had it on its own yet. Was promising though.

Mac I haven't tried the coffee yet. I'm not a big coffee drinker when I'm at home, it's work that is the problem. I might take it in tomorrow to try and will report back.

Hope you manage to get a sneaky shag in Flash. It'll be worth it if you can muster the energy!

Pyjamas81 · 13/02/2017 07:30

Only able to catch up now as was exhausted after whole weekend of fighting! Long story short - we ended up having another blazing row but we did make up properly in the end. He apologised profusely, did end up seeing how unreasonable he was being and that they way he was behaving was hindering our chances rather than helping. In his mind - he was helping by going into problem solving mode, and he does realise that having an issue about the non-alcoholic beer was totally ridiculous. It totally was the helplessness and lack of control that he feels deep down.

Hope you enjoy the Nanny State skipper! And really hope AF subsides - I'd say take something stronger for the pain as well - it sounds absolutely horrible.

Sorry about AF gee - wishing you all the luck in the world for the next stage xx

DH is a big tea fiend and he's decided to cut out caffeine - he's a fan of the Yorkshire tea decaf so far!

sk1pper · 13/02/2017 07:38

Penguin - thank you so much, I'm going to get some of those painkillers for next cycle. Xx

EJ2009 · 13/02/2017 08:14

Thw twinnings decaf tea is the nicest i've found. The yorkshire one tastes like decaf to me.

I've got horrific af type cramps on cd11. This is usual for me but i still dispute my gp's theory that this is normal. Also means im out this month.

Londonjam · 13/02/2017 08:51

Glad you've sorted it out pyjamas. It's horrible falling out but sometimes you kind of need it to get everything out in the open and resolve underlying grumbles.

Pug hope the aching subsides, it does sound like a cyst from what others are saying and that link. I was really alarmed when it happened to me. Not nice!

Hope he can be persuaded flash

Kwick how are you doing lovely lady? Still thinking of you lots.

Londonjam · 13/02/2017 08:59

EJ period cramps that late in sound abnormal to me but perhaps GPS do see this? Why do you think you are out? You don't think it could be related to ovulation?

Flashinthepan · 13/02/2017 09:25

So we did it. LSFX and all that! Also had a line on an OPK but not a positive OPK, so hoping that means we haven't missed the window, might be smack bang in the middle of it, so must make extra effort for the next couple of days!

EJ I wonder the same as Jam, could it be ov pain?

Congrats poppet! A few BFPs is just what we need, perhaps it'll rub off!

Pyjamas, well and anyone really, the thing that bothers me about being told not to do this, and not to that, and 'oh are you sure that's a good idea if you're ttc' is that it implies that should something go wrong with a pregnancy, that I would then be blamed for anything I'd done that was perceived to be unwise/unsafe, even though MC is noone's fault and almost categorically never related to drinking/caffeine/exercise etc.

So perhaps if anyone's DHs/DPs question their legitimate and well researched choices, they should ask whether they will be blaming you if there are any problems with the pregnancy etc and see how they feel about that!

Have we got any testers coming up soon btw?

HepKestrel · 13/02/2017 09:48

flash will test on Friday when AF is due, but not holding breath after bfn yesterday.

In other news, been vomitting since 1am, and GrumpyOldCat is objecting to me still being in bed by biting me.....

He might be hungry.... I'm gonna have to try to be vertical don't I? Sigh....

Hope all you lovely ladies are having a better morning.

Flashinthepan · 13/02/2017 09:59

Don't want to e overly optimistic but vomiting Hep? Did I miss you mentioning you had food poisoning or could it be a hopeful sign...

Pyjamas81 · 13/02/2017 10:00

That's basically what I said to DH flash - and that if this is what it's going to be like, I can't deal with it and would rather not do it at all. He is massively sorry though and doing everything he can to make it up to me. Fx for you! Sounds like you're getting some well timed dtd in!

You're right jam - it's good to get everything out on occasion. How are you doing?

Kaydee2017 · 13/02/2017 10:43

Sometimes I think they just take a while to see the light pyjamas & will carry on even though they know they are wrong just out of stubbornness - mine does anyway!!

Hope you feel better soon hep (or it's your BFP??)

LSFX indeed flash!! Sounds like good timing Smile

Flowers too all those not feeling well too!

MouseLove · 13/02/2017 10:55

Hey ladies. Just dropping in. Just watched a fascinating panorama documentary about fertility clinics and add ons. It's a massive eye opener. I found it on my sky planner under panorama - Inside Britain's fertility business.

No news here, got another week off work then back to normal. Feel better physically. Hope everyone is ok. X

harrietm87 · 13/02/2017 10:56

Well this is a horrible deja vu. Almost a year to the day of my chemical pregnancy I've started bleeding again. I'm 5+4 counting from lmp but 4+4 accounting for long cycle/late ovulation. Absolutely heartbroken. Sitting in the toilets at work crying and don't know what to do. The cramps are really bad so no doubt about it. Please tell me that 2 chemicals doesn't necessarily mean I'm broken.

HepKestrel · 13/02/2017 11:06

flash unfortunately don't think you can get morning sickness this early. Can't be did poisoning, OH is fine, and we have eaten the same.

macsworth · 13/02/2017 11:12

Well said flash. MC can not be blamed on anyone!

hep I've heard a few people say that their pets being funny around them turned out to be a BPF so keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm waiting to test until after my longest cycle which would be 22nd. Have a feeling I Ov earlier than that but trying not to think about it too much (failing quite badly!!)

Londonjam · 13/02/2017 11:13

Harriet I'm so sorry to hear you're bleeding. Is there someone at work you can tell? Can you DP come and get you? Can you get yourself to an EPU?
