Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Hello girls just catching up Brew

Congratulations poppet! Wonderful news 🎈

Welcome newbies jump onboard 😊

Sorry about BFN hep but you're not out yet

Oh skipper your bathroom situation sounds SO stressful! How can they just leave things like that to us? The responsibility really needs to be shared when it's such big stressful things. Sorry AF has been rubbish, it's the salt in the wound isn't it 🌷🌼

Pyjamas very glad to hear your DH came around. Espresso martini sounds just the ticket! We did make up yesterday too - we had a big heart to heart and he said he knows it's not normal that he's unable to make decisions and he's so held back by anxiety and fear of the unknown / lack of control. He has promised to get some help with it as he feels it's holding him back in other ways too. Music to my ears. I really don't want him regretting anything he should be living his life to the full and he deserves to be happy.

Oh dear I've just seen your Nanny State update. He was so close! It does sound like he's got a bee in his bonnet, and I agree with kath about the lack of control and the frustration of it all getting to you. They really need to try and bear in mind what we are going through though.

Kath I felt like that at day 5 too, it's so boring finding the energy time after time. I'm day 10 now and happily back on it though if that helps.

Binky EOD is really suiting my DH , I think it's a sound approach. I'm telling the voice in my head saying it's not enough to shut up. After all I've had more cycles than I can count where we've done it every sodding day in fw and it made no difference !

Londonjam · 12/02/2017 15:25

Sorry gee but onwards and upwards now to getting closer to being a mum. What are the next steps with starting IVF?

MissyJones80s · 12/02/2017 15:41

Sorry AF showed up again. Here's to your next journey and wishing you all the best Flowers and sticky beans xxx

geeup · 12/02/2017 16:21

London (and anyone else wondering about NHS IVF) my experience was:

  • Referred by NHS fertility consultant
  • Complete paperwork and all necessary tests that need redoing including smear in my case
  • Get approval for funding confirmed by CCG
  • Get appointments confirmed by your clinic (depending on waiting times)
  • Have another ultrasound and sperm test done by clinic
  • Have a joint first appointment
  • Wait for AF to start
  • Have implications appointment together
  • Start downregging then stims
  • Then egg retrieval
  • Then IVF/ICSI
  • Embryos in
  • TWW
  • Test
macsworth · 12/02/2017 16:42

Wow, a couple of days off and there's so much to catch up on! You ladies are so chatty, it's great!

gee sorry about AF but good luck with the next step. The IVF process sounds complicated! Where are you on that? The AF starting bit?

pyjamas so sorry your DH is acting like a bit of a dick. As others have said, if he's getting upset about Nanny State there must be something else going on! Inspector, I loved the research weapon you've produced to win the argument.

kath I know how you feel, I find it a bit of a struggle getting back into the DTD but doesn't take long to get into the swing!

I second binky, thanks for the yoga with Adrienne recommendation. I've been really enjoying it, as has DH! Although has anyone noticed that she seems to look different in every video?!

Hi vi 👋🏼

Congratulations poppet. We needed a bit of happiness on this thread to help us remember that's it's actually possible!

I'm somewhere in the TWW. Went for the relaxed approach this month and the lack of opks has been really good. It's a bit weird now though because my cycles vary in length but my luteal phase is always the same so not sure when AF is due. There have been a few symptoms spotting moments that I'm trying so hard to ignore!

Kaydee2017 · 12/02/2017 16:42

Sorry gee Flowershope your IVF journey is as smooth as it can beSmile

Kaydee2017 · 12/02/2017 16:43

And fx AF stays away for you macs!!

colourmylife · 12/02/2017 16:52

Congratulations Poppet you're the same as me, no symptoms and other months I've convinced myself of every symptom going and they were all BFNs!

And thank you to everyone for your lovely messages. I am following your journeys and can't wait to see you all get your BFPs!

sk1pper · 12/02/2017 16:56

Pyjamas - thanks, I've just ordered some of that beer for my food delivery tomorrow. I really, really wanted a drink this weekend but I resisted - it will be nice to have a drink next Friday and not feel guilty. Can't help you with your DH though, he's obviously going through some issues right now. Maybe the stress of TTC is just taking its toll on him but he really shouldn't be taking it out on you.

Geeup - I was really, really hoping that you'd get a surprise BFP and wouldn't need to start the IVF. I'm really sorry its come to this but please stick around to let us know how you get on. Do you know if you can request the IVF to start after a certain date? Or is it just as and when the NHS states?

My whole weekend has been ruined by AF, nothing seems to help with this pain. I've been in and out of hot baths, in and out of bed (often wet from the bath), have a red mark on my belly from my hot water bottle, have taken over the recommended daily painkiller amount and only just starting to feel better now.

Londonjam · 12/02/2017 16:57

It's quite a process gee. What's downregging and stims?

glitteryvibes · 12/02/2017 17:28

Hi, can I hop on?
Age:27
Ttc #1
Cycle 2
Cd 17, 26 day cycles so due 22nd

Sitting in the 2 week window, had very positive opk Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning so think I ovulated late Wednesday/or Thursday so 3 or 4 dpo.

Sorry to all those who have recently had bad news or af has arrived, congrats to those with bfps and fx to everyone for this cycle being the one!

CarleyColie · 12/02/2017 18:28

Sorry about AF gee, wishing you the best of luck with IVF. It sounds complicated but no doubt worth it Flowers

Sucks having your weekend spoilt by AF sk1pper, glad you are starting to feel better.

Hi glitter, FX for you, hope the TWW doesn't drive you too crazy!

EJ2009 · 12/02/2017 18:35

Here is something to piss the crap out of all of us. We have just been baby bombed with a scan picture from our friends that got married in effing october. I literally cried (not at them, i had the grace to wait a bit).

Kaydee2017 · 12/02/2017 19:00

Flowers EJ, I know they say you never know the journey others have been on but doesn't stop you being pissed off does it?

HepKestrel · 12/02/2017 19:07

Flowers EJ

Londonjam · 12/02/2017 19:08

Macs sounds like a few of us have been taking the chilled approach, well done sticking with it!

Skipper sorry it's ruined your weekend, that sucks ☹️ hope you're through the worst of it now

Welcome glittery 😊

EJ that's tough to see 😕 hope you're not waiting much longer

Anyone watching Mrs Doubtfire? I still can't believe Robin Williams is really gone 😔

Kathrino · 12/02/2017 19:13

Oh EJ, it never gets any easier does it? Flowers

Welcome glittery, sending you lots of good thoughts for the TWW.

Good luck to you too macs, totally admire your zen this month.

Ugh sk1pper, glad you're feeling a bit better now but not a moment too soon.

I've found a 90s playlist on Spotify and have been singing along all evening. DH is really 'enjoying' it...

InspectorPenguin · 12/02/2017 19:35

Oh EJ that's shit. We all know exactly how you're feeling - moan away here!

Everyone's talk of alcohol free beer has prompted me to be good and buy some of the 0% Bavaria stuff this evening, along with decaff tea and coffee. I don't really think it makes any difference at all (not the amount of caffeine I drink, anyway) but I do occasionally get hit with the guilts.

The tea tasted fine so I won't find it hard to stick to that; although will keep to the proper stuff for my cuppa first thing in the morning.

Glad you and your DH have had a good make-up session Jam. Sounds like you are able to communicate really well despite your blow-ups and that is a huuuge plus point for your relationship - and great sign for keeping on track with FW. I hope he starts pulling his weight with the house stuff soon, though.

Welcome Glitter!

Sk1pper, you poor thing, your AF sounds awful. I'm assuming you've tried all the hard hitting drugs you can?

Macs I'm similar to you. Not been monitoring this cycle but think I'm towards the start of the TWW if this cycle is going to be 30-33 days again. No symptom spotting going on here though - none to spot sadly.

Alexia hope you're doing okay if you're reading.

Kwick still thinking of you Flowers

Binkybunny13 · 12/02/2017 20:02

Gee ej and skipperFlowers all round. This is all shit!

I feel like we need some magic or something in this thread, we are due some happy news!

HepKestrel · 12/02/2017 20:51

I shouldn't watch call the midwife... Sad

sk1pper · 12/02/2017 21:04

Penguin - I used to take anadin extra but I'm paranoid about taking anything other than paracetamol. It works but it takes an absolute age to kick in so I've just been topping myself up every 4 hours. Ooh what Bavarian beer do you buy? And what tea and coffee if you don't mind me asking. :)

Pugmummy87 · 12/02/2017 21:58

I had the strangest thing happen to me this morning. Woke up at 5am with excruciating pain in my lower abdomen/pelvic area. Tried to get up as thought it was maybe trapped wind Blush but came over feeling all hot and light headed. Next thing I know I've toppled forward and hit my nose on the dog's crate. Crawl to bathroom and crouched over toilet feeling very hot and sweaty and still in lots of pain. The pain went after an hour of me curled up in a ball.

This evening I've got a dull ache there (not to mention a sore nose too). I'm about 6dpo now.

Londonjam · 12/02/2017 22:05

Pug this is what happened to me about 8-9 months ago. I woke up in intense lower abdo pain, got up and came over in cold sweat and faint. The pain got worse and worse for me so DH took me to A&E where I passed out again. They scanned me but couldn't find anything wrong. My gynae mate thinks it could have been a cyst bursting. I don't know. At 6 DPO it could be around implantation time - I hope it's a positive sign for you. I did wonder if it was that for me - maybe it was and then didn't stick? It seems odd to have this happen when you're TTC and never have experienced it before.

Binkybunny13 · 12/02/2017 22:06

Pug that sounds almost exactly the same as I had on New Year's Day, except for the face planting- hope you're ok?? Sounds dreadful. I never worked out what mine was but it hasn't recurred (touch wood) so hopefully you won't have any more problems either

Take care and get a good nights sleep Flowers

InspectorPenguin · 12/02/2017 22:15

Sk1pper I'd dose myself up on something stronger if I were you. I'm sure you'd be fine during AF with Co-dydramol or Dihydracodeine; it's only really Ibuprofen we have to be careful with isn't it? And only if we might be pregnant?
My doctor DP is always throwing stronger pills my way if needed, despite TTC.

Photo of shopping attached for you!

Hep I'm with you on Call the Midwife. Luckily I'm home alone tonight as I blubbed most of the way through :(

Pug hope you're okay and can get a proper rest tonight. I hope it's a good sign that there are things happening for you but also that it doesn't come back. Sounds horrible.
