Frustration post pill

We are ttc #1 and I came off the pill mid December, had withdrawal bleed as usual. Since then....nothing. I was due to have my period last Monday (pre pill I was very regular 28 day cycle) but no sign of it. And yes pt was negative. I'm really confused now because I had all the usual signs of AF - spots, greasy hair etc but that was it. I have no idea where I am in my cycle and it's very confusing and frustrating. Just wanted to vent really AngryHmm

Hey hon. Im first cycle post pill too, AF was due yesterday but nada and a BFN too😒 Wasnt expecting to fall so soon but still disappointing when all signs are there. I tested positive for ovulation 11 days ago so as that was late it might be pushing AF back. Its good to have rant, we are all here to support one another xxx

It took me 8 weeks to have my first proper period after taking my last pill. It then took a further 3 months for things to settle down. I remember the frustration well. Hope it's quicker for you Smile

I'm post pill too. Finished it on the 30/12. Find it frustrating as I'm so organised.
I'm due on next weekend but im now fully expecting things to not work as clockwork! I keep being told we need to just relax and cycles will readjust - doesn't make it easy though 😬

I understand your frustration!
My first af after coming off pill was a 27 day cycle - I naively thought this was fab and everything had gone back to normal.
My last cycle, my 3rd of TTC, was 36 days. That time between af being due, and getting negative pt was sooo frustrating. Such a no mans land, when all you want to do is get cracking again!
I'm hoping this cycle will be better. I have bought cbfm to try and figure out my cycle a bit better.

I've decided to go for daily opk test from now for the next few weeks to try to get my head round things. I know that lack of AF doesn't mean lack of ovulation so there's still hope next cycle.
If I'd thought about this more I'd have come off the pill in October to allow things to settle. Grr

Dolwar I came off the pill 48 days ago. No AF at all but various symptoms such as you've had. I'm led to believe that it can take a few months to get to normal so nothing to worry about

Dolwar, it took over 6 months to get my period post pill. I am sure you won't experience as much of a wait but it is very normal for ovulation/period to be delayed coming off the pill.

Try and be patient (I know easier said than done!). I'm sure it will appear soon.

Well i took my last pill on 25 Dec and AF is kicking crap out me now! Started slowly over past two days with discharge a pink colour. Fully expect her to be a little out of wack for next few months though... Do you have a way/app to track everything?

AF has just started for me too 😢 It's bang on a 28 day cycle after finishing pill but can help feeling disappointed I wasn't 'super fertile' post pill.

Me too shh... but although i had hormone surge i think i still had the BC mucus plug in place. It fell away the week after. So fingers crossed for next month! How are you finding things?

Finding it tough today to be honest. DH could sense the disappointment and said maybe you still might have a chance that it's not a full period just body tricking you (!) Bless him. It isn't the body tricking me, it's bright red. Part of me is trying to think at least now I will have lovely fresh lining for a fresh little sticky bean - hopefully. Other part of me wants to cry and to top it, i'm out for dinner tonight and one of my friends has a four week old - and it's her first outing without bub. I wanted it to be my month. I know i'm being irrational as it's only month 1 but it's difficult to not get so into it isn't it?

Shhh I completely understand your disappointment, but please be thankful that your cycle has snapped back so quickly. Its not the same for everyone and is a really positive thing! Smile I had to wait 6 months just be where you are! Hopefully cycle 2 will be your month Grin

Thank you Purple I'm so difficult to please because I'm also worried my body is tricking me that things are back to normal and next month AF will be elusive - there's no pleasing me!!

There's no reason to think that. Getting a period after 28 days is brilliant! Think of it now as your proper month 1 of a normal post pill cycle Smile

Thanks Purple for your support!! I know, I know I def should. I also thinking I want to get away half term week - coincides with possible fertile week - but wonder if It will also relax me about all this conception stuff!!

shh.. im trying to see it as clean break, a clear out before the hardwork starts but i was disappointed. I have my 2 year godson visiting next weekend, almost makes my ovaries hurt i want a baby so bad

Hi everyone.
This is my first post and I was just curious what pill everyone was on before TTC. I am on microgynon and trying to decide the best time to stop, and hearing all your stories has made me think I should stop sooner to plan for a settling in period (no pun intended). I was planning on stopping pill in April and TTC from May with the hope of getting pregnant in the following few months.

Hi all. My period was only three days! Welcome surprise. I'm now on CD 11 and hoping for signs of ovulation soon possibly would be lovely thanks! Amazed by how much I want to DTD with DH blushes Amazed at how the pill had zapped that!!

Hi Mrs, I was also on microgynon. I stopped in August 2016, but I think my cycles are a bit messed up still, and to be honest I wish I had come off earlier so I knew my body a bit better now. So I would come off sooner rather than later.

I'm also on my first cycle post pill, CDbloody43 and no sign of af :( I did a Frer a week ago and bfn, I really don't want to test again.

Fertility friend says it can't detect an ovulation pattern now, which I guess would make sense (and I'm a terrible temper, I keep missing days and I don't think the thermometer is reliable).

How are you both getting on Dolwar and Redpony?

I was on that too mrs ... So far ive been rather lucky. After withdrawal i had a 34 day cycle, ovulated around CD 18/19, then a four day AF which was seriously light except for day 2 of it. Im now CD 14 with a positive ovulation test yesterday. Im keeping my fingers crossed that things remain steady. Id stop the pill about 3-6 months earlier than when youd look to ttc but it can be done in a lot less time, totally depends on your body xx shh i totally have the crazy sex drive too, DP is wondering whats happened... 😂 its me pestering him now. For this reason ill definitely have to think twice about ever going back on the pill. Xx

Hi Supper i am now CD64 post-pill!! Boring now. I ovulated on 25th Jan though and Ovia made me test today, BFN. Just wish i knew when AF will be here!
