I don't often get broody at the idea of abstract babies but suddenly feeling it!!

Parastars · 30/01/2017 21:20

wiggley I'm averaging about 35 days. Hoping to move from 'Low' to high/peak in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed!

Your 30 days with positive opk all sounds very hopeful! Looking forward to some bfps on here.

I have done better today with drinking more water Smile

buzzmoon · 30/01/2017 22:00

grumpy that's so exciting, April seems so soon! My problem will be finding an excuse not to drink, everyone's go to is handing me a glass of wine! Wine

DancingUnicorn · 30/01/2017 22:18

I'm giving up alcohol for lent.... starts March first, lasts a while, will be my excuse for a while if I'm pregnant! (And if I'm not, well, never mind...)

DancingUnicorn · 30/01/2017 22:19

Grumpy, I haven't even thought about labour. A little bit terrified at the thought tbh! I'm hoping that's a little bit normal for s first timer?!

Mummyme87 · 31/01/2017 06:13

If you were pre term hrumpy active management of 3rd stage would be advised to reduce bleeding as don't know reason you laboured prematurely. You can have active manage my ie. injection at homebirth.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 31/01/2017 06:39

Thanks mummy thats good to know

Dancing yes of course!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 31/01/2017 07:13

Guys guys I think I have AF!! But it's bright red and thin blood? Not like pre pill AF. Thought it was just pink spotting but now have more red when I wipe. Going to put in mooncup and examine the contents later

buzzmoon · 31/01/2017 07:45

Wahay grumpy!! I'm so excited for you! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

TheGrumpySquirrel · 31/01/2017 07:51

Thanks buzz!

36th day post pill I think so pretty good timing wise!

I text DH he said he's a little bit disappointed I'm not pregnant.. aww!

confusedat23 · 31/01/2017 08:38

Yay for Grumpy! We have never been so excited about an AF! lol... I'm sorry DH is upset you have not been upduffed yet! Flowers

I got another flashing smiley today so hopefully not a +ve OPK this afternoon and it will hold off until Thursday like planned!

I am currently trying to convince DH to get an early night tongiht Wink... I am trying the whole flirty texts thing currently feel like a naughty teenager again lol.

Dancing I am quite scared of Labour also... But I have already decided that I will have both Mum and DH in the room with me. My mum has had to deal with me having bone marrow taken with only a non-working local anethestic before so I think she will be able to deal with me going crazy in pain from Labour. I have also decided to have a waterbirth... I have seen online I may not be allowed to have Gas and Air due to serious Perniscious Anaemia (Mummy is this true? Very scary if so!) so I would at least like some natural comfort!

What has everyone else thought about so far?

HeyJupiter · 31/01/2017 08:47

Yay Grumpy, so happy for you!! My first AF post pill was like that for a few days and then got quite heavy (in a good way as felt like it was all clearing out!) Your DH is lovely but at least you know everything is ready to go now. You're officially CD1!

confused also fab news! Tonight is the night Grin

I've thought a bit about labour. I have joint hypermobility and have heard that is associated with fast labours so just want it to be as calm as possible!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 31/01/2017 08:48

Thanks confused Grin I'm so happy I can start counting proper cycle days

One thing I've learned from last labour is that you can't really plan it! I had all these notes about what I wanted natural birth etc and no intervention and then waters broke at 35+5 so they had an ambulance sent out and I had a consultant and tons of people in the room .. ended up being natural and only gas & air (because it was so fast) but yeah they stabbed me in the thigh with this injection literally as DD was coming out - at that point I didn't care as long as she was ok.

This time if I make it to 37 weeks I'd love a homebirth! But anything can happen so you need to stay open minded.

HeyJupiter · 31/01/2017 08:49

Dancing such a good idea giving up alcohol for lent! Might keep some of the suspicious people from work from asking questions

DancingUnicorn · 31/01/2017 08:53

Oh wow, confused I really feel for you having to have bone marrow taken with only a local. :(

A performed a comedy of errors with a hpt this morning. Decided I wanted to test so I could stop thinking about it and prepare myself for af. After washing out a little cup, successfully peeing into said cup and using test (attempting to avoid more flooding!). The test immediately was full of red dye moving across the screen... is this normal?! Anyway, tried to find somewhere to balance the thing, ended up watching it go flying into cobwebs with spider and had to reach my hand in to rescue it. Then had to figure out how to hide the thing in the bin. Needless to say it was bfn, so now just waiting for af to come tomorrow!

Grumpy yay!! Now you at least know where you are! And cute that dh is disappointed!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 31/01/2017 08:53

Thanks Jupiter that's good to know as it's not what I have been used to in the past (never had AF in the many years on this pill).
I feel like it's gearing up - terrible backache

Redpony1 · 31/01/2017 08:58

Had a giggle at turkey baster!

I now have zero pains in that area, still expecting AF to start soon though.

Unicorn I am jealous of your small weight gain after eating excessively!

buzzmoon · 31/01/2017 09:06

confused tonight's the night, get your sexy knicks out!

I'd love a water birth too, but like you say everything goes out the window and you just hope for a safe delivery!

Hoping AF comes soon for you red we're just waiting for you post pill right?

grumpy very cute that dh was disappointed

Redpony1 · 31/01/2017 09:22

Damn it, i missed loads of posts when i posted the last one, that'll teach me for not refreshing!

yey at AF grumpy !!

buzz i either want a BFP (because i ovulated last week according to OPPK's and symptoms) or AF - but yes, post pill i haven't yet had an AF, 56 days & counting!

Labour.... I am zero pain threshold so i want all the drugs possible without question! There is a chance i will need an elected c-sec anyway due to my back. When i broke it i got told if i ever had a baby i'd need a c-sec as it was unlikely i would bare the pain to full term. Back then i brushed it off as i was adamant i would never ever want a baby Blush

confusedat23 · 31/01/2017 09:31

Oh yeah whoever said Turkey Baster that is genious... I had a proper giggle about it!

DH is engageing in the flirty chat so I am very very hopeful we are on for tonight! I think I am going to go to boots and buy some of that fertility lube today, didn't someone on here say they have pre-seed was it any good?

I would normally have EWCM by now at CD 13 but OVIA is getting the ump with me for not having anything!! Such a Sassy woman she is but she is also making me panic that this cycle could be anovulatory!

Its ok Dancing it kept me alive so well worth the pain! Although 18 year old me didn't feel like that at the time lol

Your debarkles with HPT's are amazing by the way! you should start a blog or something about it

OP posts:
HeyJupiter · 31/01/2017 10:05

Dancing that's so funny! It shouldn't be that hard should it Grin

confused I think CM can vary a bit each month. It's quite unpredictable. As said yesterday I have EWCM at the moment yet my clearblue OPK came back as low. So not sure what that's all about. Carry on with the plan I reckon! Glad DH is getting in the mood.

Red fingers crossed for BFP or AF. You just need something don't you so you know where you stand.

Redpony1 · 31/01/2017 10:30

Yeh just want to know where i am at!

Is it bad that yesterday i bought an Aldi salad yesterday and it had a little pot with the sauce in it inside. I thought, ohhhh that will make a good wee catching pot!! Promptly washed it up after my lunch and put it in my drawer at work Grin Grin

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 31/01/2017 10:49

Happy days Grumpy - great news about AF at last. Still no sign of mine. No doubt it will land on sat at the wedding when I'm wearing a bloody hopefully not literally Saree!!

Re births - I am going to request a caesarean. It's all private healthcare over here so I'm hoping they just agree to it. I really don't fancy a labour. I just don't think I'll cope with that at all. If we end up with twins I'm 100% insisting on a caesarean!

It will be so much easier to plan if we know the date. And being abroad I'd prefer to know the timings so I can have family here accordingly. My biggest fear is going into premature labour and having no control whatsoever.

buzzmoon · 31/01/2017 11:20

red your Aldi salad dressing pot made me laugh out loud 😂😂 such a good idea though!

MrsC2017 · 31/01/2017 11:40

red brilliant!! I see a hairspray lid at home and the bit of a pencil sharpener that collects the shavings in work! Innovation amongst women of child baring age is at an all time high it seems!
confused sounds like you have him in the bag Grin
unicorn too funny about the test ending up amongst the spiders!
grumpy yay welcome to Cd1!
So no sign of AF, please let her stay away until I least get to 12dpo! Today is 9dpo... I Kind of just know I'm not pregnant though, which I'm ok with but gonna test tomorrow and then again Friday if no AF!
Regarding labour.... I will be attempting to insist on a c section this time, I have done years of physio to work on the damage done by my first labour and have worked so hard I avoided two repair surgeries where they told me basically that should I entire natural labour it would probably happen all over again. In this country it's a mentality of get the baby out whatever the cost is to the mother which in a way I understand but surely my quality of life matters a bit! Anyway my gp says she will back me so hopefully they will consider it, they are very reluctant to perform a planned section unless there is what they consider grave medical needs yet we have one of the highest rates of emergency care sections! Anyway that's what I would like but I know from last time that the best way to prepare for childbirth is not to prepare!
