If you have a stick to use Red otherwise you could probably wait or stop off somewhere to get one so you can do it tomorrow morning!

So quick question what is conception date? Date of DTD, or fertilisation, or implantation? I know it's assumed to be two weeks since your last period, so you are "two weeks pregnant" when you conceive, but what if you didn't have a period post pill? Question for mummy maybe

Hi Grumpy I think that is the reason doctors etc like you to have an AF before trying so it is easy to date you!

I think you can work out roughly if you know when you ov and then your dating scan will put you back from there Smile

Yeah conception would be whenever you ovulated as an estimate. This would be a scenario to have a dating scan before your Nuchal scan which is at 11-13weeks

So after u miss a period is that counted as 4weeks or 2weeks pregnant? And what do they check for in the first nuchal scan? They never did them here when I had DS, it was just 20ish weeks but I know they do them now! Sorry I'm like 20 questions!
So far today have stuck to eating plan, resisted the cake at coffee break!

MrsC I was just thinking that I don't even know how pregnancy occurs. One would think I would know more as I already have a child but I am so clueless Blush
Ovulation, conception, fertilisation, tww, omg, can it get more complicated Grin
I used to think one just DTD and that's it. But nope, not that easy!

With the nuchal scan, they check the fluid at the back of the fetus neck for chromosomal conditions. I had that on NHS and also had a harmony test done privately at 10 weeks.

Here's me...

Age: 34
TTC: Starting ttc in March for #3
Cycle no: n/a
Cycle Day: n/a

Not bothered about being a bit less careful with contraception for now (what will be will be) but not wanting to come off the pill entirely yet as don't want to conceive until at least April as we want to avoid a Nov/Dec baby (due to insane number of family birthdays already in those months!). Also need to conceive asap after coming off the pill as I have killer periods when off the pill.

Nuchal scan is checking for chromosome anomalies like Down's syndrome, Edwards and patau's. The sonographer measures the Nuchal fold on the back of baby's neck, combines maternal age and PAPP-A result from a blood test and gives you an overall risk, i.e. 1:10000. If high risk ie. risk greater than 1:150, you are referred for further screening if wanted, this may be the harmony test or CVS/aminocentisis. Anomaly scan is 20-22weeka and looking at growth, blood flow between placenta and baby, amniotic fluid volume and fetal abnormalities.

When you miss a period, you are 4weeks pregnant, as your due date is based on your LMP (until you have your Nuchal scan). There is a fab photographer with some amazing photos online of conception, I will post his name when I find his name. Really amazing photos

Hi all! I'm in the hideous 2ww and driving myself insane.

Ttc #1
Cd 22
Ov 7th or 8th
So days past ovulation....9

So please help me stop going crazy I've been symptom spotting like mad so far 7 days past ovulation started to feel nauseous like a rolling tummy and around the same time my mouth was as dry as the Sahara like I had cotton wool in it with a funny taste. Today cramps on and off and spots which is completely unlike me! I know I'm not going to be lucky enough to conceive first cycle and I know these 'symptoms' are more likely than not nothing related to pg but I can't help hoping. TBH finding the whole thing quite stressful and today feel completely emotional about everything, including running out of tea bags lol

Fx that this is a lucky thread for us all.

Tigger that all sounds really positive! Especially the spotting (if it's unusual) as would be right on time for implantation. 7DPO here but symptom free! Felt weird last week but pretty sure was a virus as relative had the same.

FX for you!
