Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

It's not been the best start of the year for most but we're still trying to keep it PMA Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Gimble I just lost my much beloved Granny on New Year's Eve, it's heartbreaking. If you want to talk about it please feel free to pm me. I really feel for you, it's such a sad and difficult time when you know they don't have long.

Hugs for you skipper lovely I'm really sorry and I know exactly how you feel. Allow yourself to feel as shit as you need to, its emotionally draining and it's good sometimes to let yourself feel how hard it is. I hope you have your HSG date to focus on 💐💐💐

Londonjam · 17/01/2017 08:45

Everything crossed for you kwick 🤞🏼

Kaydee2017 · 17/01/2017 08:45

Fx kwick!!!

Londonjam · 17/01/2017 08:46

Peaches fx for your bloods - although I hope you get a lovely BFP and don't have to bother 🙂

Londonjam · 17/01/2017 08:47

Good idea binky I wouldn't wait either if cycles messing me around

macsworth · 17/01/2017 08:49

gimble I am so sorry. I hope everything is peaceful and you can be together as a family.

skipper this ttc is so shit. Take all the time you need. We'll all be here when you're ready to come back.

miw definitely get a FRER today. How many DPO are you?

So I have an interview this morning. With everything going on with my brother I didn't think I was going to do it but now he's doing so much better I've decided to go. With very little prep 😳
Although I know deep down I'm out this cycle, there's a little part of me hoping this might invoke Sod's law!

macsworth · 17/01/2017 08:50

And good luck kwick. Can't wait to hear!

Londonjam · 17/01/2017 08:52

Miw that line was clear as day. Hope you can get hold of a frer today.

Sorry for all the individual posts, didn't get much sleep last night and got a banging headache. Had ceramics didn't get in until late and then had difficult conversations with DH. Ended up very upset and stressed and I didn't want to DTD but felt that we should be ☹️ my plan this cycle was to do it every 2-3 days and so far we've managed day 8 and day 13. So cross at him for upsetting me when I've got more than enough already to deal with. I had a bit of a meltdown on him trying to express how exhausting draining painful our failure to conceive is for me and ended up sobbing. He looked alarmed - I think he gets it but they just. Have. No idea how much it really affects us.

Anyway to get back to a PMA I am on day 4 of yoga with Adrienne which I am loving. I have also decided to get a journal to write down my thoughts and feelings to try and help me process this journey.

Sending positive thoughts and love out at all of you 💐

kwick · 17/01/2017 09:10

Best of luck for interview macs I am sure you will nail it!!!

jam good that you spoke - hopefully he will be a bit more considerate from now on.
How do you fit in yoga and ceramics and job and DTD and MN? Confused

At clinic waiting....

I really do not know why I bother blow drying hair - already a complete frizz ball!!!

Kathrino · 17/01/2017 09:14

Hope all goes well kwick, keeping everything crossed!

Jam, well done for being open and honest with DH. I hope he'll realise that he needs to step up a bit more now and support you.

Good luck with the interview macs!

HepKestrel · 17/01/2017 09:31

LSFX for you kwick

for those not snooping on the other thread .... fxskip has a healthy blob....

kwick · 17/01/2017 09:48

Such good news about fxskip thanks hep

Scan showed egg sac but nothing else - scanner says too soon and to rescan next week. Just want to go back home to bed...but show must go on!!!!

HepKestrel · 17/01/2017 09:53

how many weeks are you kwick?

GimbleInTheWabe · 17/01/2017 09:55

Ladies I can't thank you enough for your prayers, kind words and thoughts. Nan made it through the night but isn't much better this morning. Just trying to make her as comfortable as possible. Managed to make myself and my uncle a cup of tea with cold water too Confused

In other TTC related news I woke up at 2am last night and immediately ran to the loo to throw up (nice surprise...!). I have had lots of heart burn recently and a tiny bit of nausea. Don't know if it's related or not. It was horrible though, hope that doesn't become a trend!

Good luck macs at your interview and kwick at your appt!
jam good for you for expressing how you feel, if anything it has hopefully helped relieve some tension. I always feel better after a cry! A journal is an absolutely brilliant idea, I always write in mine when I have things on my mind. Try and write as freely as possible, sometimes I find myself holding back as if someone else is going to read it which isn't the point! And I love Adrienne, she makes it so relaxed and laid back

Peaches8Posies · 17/01/2017 10:02

miw as the others have said get a sensitive test. I think asda own make are quite good also heard superdrug are sensitive too, if there are no frers about.

sk1p its a hard shit battle! Take care be kind to yourself Flowers xx

gimble thinking of you at this sad time. Flowers

kwick noooooo! Floaty potion and eggs Grin no wonder this is taking soo long!! Can't wait to hear your good news Smile

flash love when surgeons do their serious chats straight after surgery! Like who is taking in that info then? Hmm

blink hope you get a helpful gp. It has given me a better feeling about this, tackling things head on and being a bit more productive about sorting out issues.

kayde lsfx for you Smile

Peaches8Posies · 17/01/2017 10:15

kwick is this not quite standard at a very early stage? There's a great difference in what they see each week. I remember one of the grads went for a reassurance scan and it was the same as yours, worried sick for 2 weeks, 2nd scan bang on where she should be. Also happened to a girl I worked with. Had assisted conception and took until week 8 on early scans before they seen everything where it should be. PMA xx

good luck macs

gimble stress does strange things to you take care. Glad your gran has you all with her xx

jam sometimes it takes these type of conversations for your OH to realise how frustrated/upset you are! Hope this has cleared the air. Yes to the journal, and you have us here too. Is there any time you and dh can have a couple of days away together? Something nice and relaxing, no mention of ttc and just spending some quality time together? I know it's hard to try and park it to one side. My OH has his friends birthday drinks bang on next months fertile week. He said he will go but not drink. Hmm no way he can do a guys day and not have a single drink. I just hope he is sensible and doesn't over indulge. Ttc is mad! There you go I'm already letting something that's happening weeks away in to my head Blush

kwick · 17/01/2017 10:27

gimble Flowers

peaches yep it is a bit early - just following clinic instructions. Next scan booked for next Thursday.

Lady in waiting room nearly got a slapping from me - she was making so much noise eating and drinking I nearly chucked up! Envy

I am just going to chant "I am PUPO, I am PUPO"

Peaches8Posies · 17/01/2017 10:37

Aww kwick one of my pet hates too. People who phone you and chew food right in your ear. Eat then call!! People who eat chewing gum and you hear every! single! bite! Urghhhhh Angry

Next Thursday will be here before you know it, and you will be amazed but how much more you can see Smile chant away x

Presh88 · 17/01/2017 10:43

Hi all
I got an extremely extremely faint positive on a FRER earlier. Don't know why I did it was just wide awake at 3am, it looked negative so go back to bed and then at 6am had another look. It's a real squinter and AF is due Friday so going to try and keep away from POAS until then (if AF doesn't show up) Confused
Will be keeping PMA and join you in your chanting kwick!

Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP
Flashinthepan · 17/01/2017 11:13

Oooo Presh what are your symptoms. Although I cannot condone early POAS, as you've already done it I feel I am allowed to get excited.

Presh88 · 17/01/2017 11:21

I'm excited too although trying not to be and haven't told DH yet - will wait until I get a clearer result.
Only big symptom was feeling what I'm pretty sure was implantation cramps/sharp pinch feeling on Saturday. And some creamy CM although don't think that's too specific. No spotting/nausea/boob pain so will have to see what happens by the weekend!

Flashinthepan · 17/01/2017 11:31

The CM seems to be something that a lot of people get before a BFP. FX!

FXSkip · 17/01/2017 11:44

Right. Too much to catch up on, I've read most of it but have no chance of replying to everyone.

Special welcome to all the newbies, I've added you all to the list AND I've taken drastic action and removed anyone who has not checked in to the new thread - so if you're lurking check in ASAP! Shoutout to Miri if you're still about, you sound like you have been on an epic journey already so I hope that you get your much wanted bfp soon. You are our first lesbian couple (I think!) so here's a bear for you: Bear (I have no idea what that means, I hope its not bad lol!)

I'm Skip, currently 7+5 with a blob. I'd been trying 5 cycles before I had an anembryonic pregnancy last year (lasted May - October) and then BFP on 2nd cycle after mc.

Thank you to everyone here that supported me on my journey, I am not going anywhere though (unless I get told to scarper) so will be here to uplift you with SkipsStats.

So, the new thread is Average age 31, average cycle #8. If Miw and Presh confirm their BFPs we'll be 6% upduffed. We had 12 grads from thread 22 and unfortunately neither of the Thread 23 beans were sticky.

So, we are well overdue some luck and some BFPs, the year has indeed got off to a rocky start so here's some bonus facts:

Star The peritoneal cavity prevents eggs and potion floating around in the body. The gap of the tubes and the ovaries is the only one like it in the human body, and the males have no gaps. It is what leaves women prone to PID.

Star Studies have shown that women who participate in yoga and/or mediation are 3x more likely to conceive than those who do not.

Ladies, you are all doing the best you can, you're BFPs are coming - stay positive

xx

Flashinthepan · 17/01/2017 11:54

Hi FXSkip! Glad to hear the blob is happy.

6 per cent is good but Mumh also uploaded her bfp on the very end of the last thread which I think most people missed, so per cent may go up!

So re the peritoneal cavity, something has gone pretty badly wrong if you have an adominal ectopic? Which means it must be very rare, and so none of us need to be concerned with it!

FXSkip · 17/01/2017 12:27

flash you'll drive yourself mad if you think about that! It is very rare indeed, and occurs when the embryo implants directly into the peritoneal lining. It can result in a live birth but would usually be diagnosed and terminated early on. Alternatively, if there is an abdominal mmc, the foetus can turn into a Lithopedion, where the body calcifies the tissue to prevent infection. It's fascinating, but extremely unlikely.
