Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

It's not been the best start of the year for most but we're still trying to keep it PMA Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Kwick how are you I hope all is well?

Londonjam · 20/01/2017 17:55

Pug hahaha at lady majoria - that's a much better name 😂

Tonight I am going to have a glass of wine and we've decided to have picky tea which means nice meat cheese olives bread and salad. Will see if DH fancies another shag too, just for good measure.

sk1pper · 20/01/2017 18:03

Oh are you doing it too Jam? Sorry didn't realise! Also picky teas are the absolute shizz, I'm kinda tempted...

kwick · 20/01/2017 18:19

Wow!!! So much to catch up on!!

kathrino thanks for Adrienne link - you are the best!!!

OMG someone has a McDonalds on the bus... would kill for one of those but had pizza at lunch so have to revert to soup tonight...

Alexia so glad you are back with a vengance!! You are an amazeballs last and I really hope your sticky bean is imminent!

MouseLove how are you feeling?

Ladies - not sure if I mentioned before but some time ago my FC consultant told me to take a baby aspirin daily during 2ww - I googled it, as you do, and some studies show it can lower risk of CP/MC. Maybe worth a look see.

What a wank stain GP EJ Angry

Still catching up but have to get off bus

Flashinthepan · 20/01/2017 18:32

skip or jam please could you put me down for 8 Feb. Me and harriet will be testing buddies! Also jam since you mentioned my opks, would you or anyone else like to look at mine from this evening and tell me if it looks positive please!

Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP
Flashinthepan · 20/01/2017 18:33

Sorry about the crap photo. Wedding ring only there for focus. Control line is nearest to green.

Londonjam · 20/01/2017 18:34

Yes that looks positive to me flash! Get to it

Skipper probably no bad thing to have more than one person on it, I'm not great at updating!

harrietm87 · 20/01/2017 18:34

peaches is it bad if you orgasm before the man (as opposed to just neutral)?? Sorry for the tmi but I'm always first - I get scared I'll lose it if I try hold it! May have to learn to exercise some self control.

DH is away with work again this weekend and FW starts on Sunday. Might have to wait up for him on Sunday night. Excited for my first proper FW to get going!

harrietm87 · 20/01/2017 18:36

Woo flash testing buddies! You've obv got a longer luteal phase than me - lucky you - that opk definitely looks positive. I'm not expected to ov until next wed/thurs I think

Londonjam · 20/01/2017 18:47

Just picked up the print out of all our results. The GP repeated the semen analysis and told me the results were the same as the private one. They are not. His count was lower - 60m compared to 100m and it says 99% abnormal forms. How the hell are we meant to get pregnant with that??? I'm starting to get angry the GP said our results are normal and not the reason we are not conceiving.

One small plus is his motility is higher and is count is still good. They are said to be the two most important things. He's also been on proxeed since then so hopefully that has helped.

Maybe we won't have that glass of wine Sad

Flashinthepan · 20/01/2017 18:47

Lots of dtd fun for me for the next couple of days then. Dtd last night just in case.

Harriet I am wrong, Af came 4 days early so I am now testing 4 Feb! Blush Sorry! My cycle is about 25/26 days since ectopic, used to be standard 28. I think normally ovulate cd 11-13 so 12-14 day LP however, this is the first month I've done opks and temped properly, before I just went on CM so can work out LP this month as understand that it remains fairly consistent.

jam skip test date 4 Feb please!

kwick · 20/01/2017 19:01

jam I hope you pounced on DH!!! Grin

pugmummy so glad you are turning a corner Flowers you should definitely get shagging - your body knows what to do now!

All this left ovulation pain - remember ovaries are fully mobile!!!!

Jesus orange that does not sound good!!!

Oh yes pyjamas those lovely suppositories... I remember them well!
Hope it has gone well.

wingingit needs must and all that!!! Fortunately most of the fertility boosting food is yummy.

jam please may I check that you are on track during TWW - please say "check" to the below:

  • eating 1/5 of a fresh pineapple including core during first 5 days?
  • feet and kidneys warm at all times?
  • laughing a little every day?
  • no heavy lifting?
  • visualisations and PMA?
  • cayenne pepper consumption?

Only just at 9.36 this morning!

Pyjamas81 · 20/01/2017 19:04

That looks positive to me flash - get to it!!

V jealous of all your glasses of wine - that's exactly what I wanted to do tonight but am not allowed because of damn antibiotics. So, I'm home, have assumed the position on the sofa (DH is out so have it aaaaaalll to myself) and a pizza is making its way towards my face as I type 😊

Thanks everyone for your support today - it was stressful and I'm really tired now, but being able to chat to you guys was great!

Oh and jam/skipper - my test date (depending on when I ov) is 11th Feb. Waiting until day after AF is due.

Argh how annoying jam - I hope you get some proper answers soon.

Starfish33 · 20/01/2017 19:06

London / Skipper - could I please be added to the list? AF due 4th Feb. Thank you! x

kwick · 20/01/2017 19:22

After insemination/embryo transfer you are told to lie back for up to 15 minutes... but as bladder has to be full for the procedure I barely make it beyond 5 minutes. I think those that take a pause and lie down for a short while after DTD cannot be doing things any harm Grin
BTW Nothing comes out when I stand up.

I fricking hate the plank hep

pyjamas so glad it went well. My hycosy was agony - wish I had know. In advance as I would have taken some morphine or any other drugs I could get my hands on!!!
Have you thought about taking DHEA?

music!!! So good to hear from you! Great news about blob!!

pug my friday night plan is to watch Death in Paradise and keep my feet warm Smile I have got a face mask on at the mo - will wash off once I am caught up.

flash hope you are DTD at the mo!!!

jam what the hell is your GP playing at?

Quick update: I am tired; I am anxious; I have not cramped as usual this pm or yesterday so am thinking thus will be another MC. Need PMA and a Wine. Will settle for Brew.

sk1pper · 20/01/2017 19:34

No Kwick - don't start thinking down that route. You are the queen of PMA, remember your mantras. Get yourself that nice cup of tea, stay warm and cosy and enjoy your evening xx

Flashinthepan · 20/01/2017 19:41

Sadly I am not currently Dtd as hubby will not be home for another hour. But im already plotting FXLS! kwick no no no, you have no reason to think that and I'm sure little bean is totally fine. Maybe no more cramps because he/she has found a comfy spot for the day!

WingingIt83 · 20/01/2017 19:44

Anyone have opinions on DH'S SA?

His volume is massive which has created low density but the count isn't actually abmornal (although nowhere near your DHs jam that seems an incredible count!) )

Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP
WingingIt83 · 20/01/2017 19:47

The print out termed it 'oligozoospermia' but when I google it it says low sperm count which isn't technically a problem.

Pugmummy87 · 20/01/2017 19:52

jam/skip if I ovulate this month around cd 19 again, then AF would be due 14th Feb. Fx we'll be celebrating a bfp, but at least I can plan a good fuck it day as it's valentines!

kwick Thank you. Don'the worry, we are back on it! Hopefully body has been kick started. Do you have your list of fertility boosting foods? I would be interested in looking.
Sorry to hear you are feeling anxious, but understand why. I have everything crossed that your next scan will be good and you will see your bean. Today you are PUPO!

Jam that must be so frustrating with your GP. Forgive me if I've forgotten, you have a fertility appointment soonish haven't you? Hopefully a fertility consultant can shed some light.

Flashinthepan · 20/01/2017 19:57

winging www.dontcookyourballs.com/diagnose-infertility-understand-semen-analysis-results

That link talks all about sperm analysis results, and gives a calculation of how to combine the various results to find out what it really means. The calculation is concentration x volume x percent of motility and then tells you what the answer means.

HepKestrel · 20/01/2017 20:53

skipper can you put down for the 16th Feb?

well I went to the gym today ..... but had to walk out 10 minutes before the end of class on account of toppling forward whilst failing some yoga balance position and whacking (and splitting) my chin on the floor. managed to catch all the blood in my hand though .....

Mrsbluebell17 · 20/01/2017 21:08

Skipper, please can you put my deets on the list:

Bluebell
TTC #1
Age 29
Cycle 4
CD8 and AF has just about gone now.
Had a 33 day, a 27 day and a 24 day cycle since coming off BC with 2 possible chemicals in the mix too :(
Don't know when to expect AF, somewhere between 24 and 33 days would leave me at 5th and 14th Feb.
I don't temp and have been using IC OPKs for the first time properly this month but know I'm probably too early yet. Will see how I get on and keep you all posted.

Keeping fingers crossed for you all!

Gaelach · 20/01/2017 21:12

Skipper, stick me down for my BFP on 31st Jan. I will get pregnant this month, I will get pregnant this month...

Mrsbluebell17 · 20/01/2017 21:30

Gaelach I could use some of your positivity!!
